Freedom...
There was a girl who always struggled with who she was. She longed for someone to care for her, to love her in spite of what she felt. "Will there ever be someone to love me", she would continually ask herself. Her heart was hurting; she was thirsty for attention..
He came from out of nowhere it seemed. She couldn't believe, she was happy, she was excited. Finally someone had approached her and seemed interested…in her. That day she may have felt she was on cloud nine…
As their relationship progressed, she noticed and wondered why she still felt unfulfilled. He started coming out of his sheep's clothing and truly began revealing the wolf that lurked underneath.
The more she shared of herself, the more he would use and devalue her. He battered and bruised her without even laying a hand on her. His words pierced her heart like daggers, continually stabbing her into unjust, guilty and manipulated submission. She felt herself dissolving with each rant and rave and distasteful comment he would say to her.
He imposed his views and beliefs on her, even though she knew inside of her it just wasn't right. She stayed though, just because someone…anyone…was there to at least give her some type of attention.
She begin to change for him despite the constant gentle tugging of her heart by her True Love who was quietly reminding her that life is better than this.
She started imagining her life if she continued to stay with him. She would be a shell of herself, a life that would not be worth living, filled with unfulfilled dreams, disuse of her talents and gifts. She would be alive but she wouldn't be living. And one day she feared these attacks would become physical.
She knew she had to make a move, and when she finally did, it was too his cunning disappointment. She was just so tired of this life with him.
The whole time her Father was there, calling and continually reminding her that there was a way out. He brought her out with a new perspective. These words chimed in her head as she gained perspective on the whole experience," The full soul despises a honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet."
The attention and love she needed was already there, she just needed to get her focus on her True Love and her soul was set free from captivity.
