1- (2) WR Calvin Johnson
2- (43) QB Drew Stanton
2- (58) DE Ikaika Alma-Francis
2- (61) S Gerald Alexander
4- (105) CB A.J. Davis
4- (117) OG Manuel Ramirez
5- (158) LB Johnny Baldwin
7- (255) CB Ramzee Robinson
Calvin Johnson had a fair season but compared to some other first-rounders, he didn’t live up to the hype. Stanton was placed on IR before the season started with a knee injury that should have allowed him to recover at least halfway through the season. Alma-Francis was inactive for most of the season and played limited snaps when he was on the active roster. Gerald Alexander contributed the most to the Lions as a rookie and should be a staple in the Lions secondary for years to come. A.J. Davis didn’t make the team and was a complete waste of a pick. Manuel Ramirez was on the practice squad almost all season and played in only one game. Johnny Baldwin was another waste of a pick that was cut before the season started. Most draft boards had him pegged as an undrafted free agent coming out of college. He was claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Chiefs and played in three games in 2007. With the last pick of the draft the Lions selected Ramzee Robinson who contributed played sparingly at cornerback and on special teams.
New York Giants
1- (20) CB Aaron Ross
2- (51) WR Steve Smith
3- (81) DT Jay Alford
4- (116) OLB Zak Deossie
5- (153) TE Kevin Boss
6- (189) OT Adam Koets
7- (224) S Michael Johnson
7- (250) RB Ahmad Bradshaw
All of the Giants players selected in the 2007 NFL Draft are near the top of their depth chart. Cornerback Aaron Ross has started most of the season and has played very well. Steve Smith has come into his own with the Giants near the end of the season and has become a red zone threat. Jay Alford is the backup to staring defensive tackle Fred Robbins. Zak Deossie is the backup to linebacker Reggie Torbor. Kevin Boss has become the starting tight end for the Giants since Jeremy Shockey’s season-ending injury in week
