Absolutely right about the Heirloom calls! It doesn't get any finer in the springtime woods than when you stroke that Heirloom's Rebel Yell Box Call and watch them gobblers come a runnin'!

For varmints, however, you got to go to Rod Haydell in Shreveport, Louisiana. Haydel'S game calls are just as well built and realistic sounding as I've come across and their waterfowl calls are abslutely legendary amongst the stick and marsh boys!

other than turkey season i dont use any calls...

during deer seon i have found that the deer like turkeys
so yea i take my turkey call too... also works great for the bobcat

i do have a deer call i cary, i dont really know it. its a bleeper.. lil tiney black rubber thing...
and hunny....
stright outta the jar.. the sweet smell bring them in. i put it about 10 yards from my stand that way they just walk right to me...

where i hunt, theres alot of people and calls dont really work even if you do use them cause htere so use to hearing them then being shot at...
i play the sit and wait game most of the time...

grand ma always said "good things come to those who wait"

I don't use anything for deer here they aren't like the white tail that will react to the rattling or grunt calls. However we do use a lot of predator calls we have the whole series of Primos Randy Anderson Coyote calls which work really good on badger and bobcat and bear. We haven't gotten to hunt duck in a long time but this year that will change so I will take a look at the calls that you suggested Toby!

I use a Primos freak for turkeys and a H.S. Strut quad grunter for deer. But i have better luck using a Primos "the can" bleet call.
