There are many notions about what the earth will be like in the
distant future. Some think it will be a grand place of fantastic
technology, others think it will be a desolate, windswept place of
sadness and destruction. What do you think?

These are the last recorded word of Sir Zieg Alethio, the famed scholar, explorer, and leader whom we all loved dearly...

"Our world is broken. What was once an iconic civilization has since become the epitomy of backpedalling. 10 years ago, humanity was a proud species. And justly so. Our capabilities were endless.

But, as comes with all great power, came monumentous responsibility. In the end, this responsibility proved to much for some, for we destroyed ourselves with the fires of nuclear war. The survivors were few and far between. Those who did not die from the hundreds of thousands of explosions were mostly taken by the poisonous gasses that ensued.

Now, we have all but been living in the stone age for the last ten years. The only differece is that some of our advanced technology survived the holocaust. So you see children, our world is not only sick and directionless, but it is also conflicted.

Ah, forgive me, I should not say directionless. For all of us have a direction don't we? We must continue moving forward, for we can do naught else. What lies in that direction differs for each one of us, but as I am bound for the next life, I leave you with these words: Hope can never be lost if but one person gives it safe harbor in their heart. Do not give up and do not despair for though we are broken, we are still alive and have been given the rare opportunity to start fresh. That, if nothing else, should give you all a glimmer of hope. Goodbye my friends. The future rests on your shoulders. End transmission."

And so now it is the year 2190 A.D. The situation is grim at the best of times. Those mutated by the poisonous gasses left in the wake of Holocaust, or Geists, as they have come to be known, have become hostile to the rest of humanity. To add to this horror, the antigens in their blood, though making them deathly ill, have given their bodies superhuman capeabilities. They are quieter, stronger, and faster. The one thing they lack is extensive knowledge for information retention is the first thing to be lost in the course of the disease.

As was the start of Sir Zieg's last transmission, our world is indeed broken. The sun is never bright because of the destructive force the nukes had on our atmosphere, and there are not many growing things in natural places anymore. There are a few sheltered farms and vast underground stores of staple foods, but these will not sustain us forever. To further illustrate the grim picture that is our world, I will tell you of a man in New York City. Yes, the same New York City where the Jets once played and the streets were constantly jammed with noisy traffic and bustling people. It now stands empty and most of the taller buildings have crumbled.

The following will be the true stories of those who were surviving. The name of the first, was Phage Meninto...
