Jeez dude, your recordings are sounding more polished than ever! How the heck did you record your guitar so crisp? I just bought a Sennheiser e906 mic and am still trying to dial it in. You got mic'ing nailed! Awesome playing as well but I can only tell you that so many times.

Which recording were you talking about the micing?

The acoustic was direct in, just a little post-processing in ProTools.

The electric was mic'ed with the same mic I've been using, that $100 Digital Reference mic, about 3 feet away from the cab on a stand about 6 inches from the floor, with about a 20 degree angle pointing down towards the center of the speaker. I honestly think a lot of it has to do with the speakers - I never liked the sound of the V30 or G12H30 speakers, but the MC-90 speakers really let the amp sound come through un-changed.

Yep, I was referring to the mic job. It's always hit or miss when I do it. I bought the Sennheiser E906 and it's helped but I'm still not consistant enough. You seem to have the technique nailed. Very impressive.
