I'm hoping to have the next part finished this week. I have the confrontation between Felicia and Lucas at Lorna and Joe's apartment written--I kept it short because it's still the same day, and Felicia is still overwhelmed with so many conflicting emotions--and where I left off, Felicia left Lorna and Joe's to return home but an overcrowded answering machine sends her back out, and she winds up finding a friend she never thought of finding at the end of the next part.
I used to daydream about being a soap writer when I was in high school. But I don't think any of the soaps still on the air would hire me because they all seem to be about style over substance these days, and I write or try to write, in the style of Donna Swajeski and the late Douglas Marland, my personal soap head writer heroes. Being able to write fanfics is helping me live out this daydream, though. I hope you continue to enjoy what I continue to come up with.

I had toyed with that angle, Michelle, but decided to nix it in favor of building a Paulina/Felicia friendship. It's difficult for Cass and Frankie because of what they went through with Kathleen--she stayed away on purpose, as did Lucas, but Lucas has much better reasons, and the consequences of his actions were much more far-reaching, because of everything that happened to Felicia, Lorna and Jenna while he was gone. And Paulina/Jake and John/Sharlene served the same basic purpose: both Jake and Sharlene stayed away because they couldn't remember who they were, or that they had loving spouses waiting for them at home.
So John and Sharlene won't really be in this story; Paulina becomes Felicia's confidante instead.
