Felicia has invited us to TOPS on Tuesday, April 8, to celebrate the release of Reservation Road on DVD. She will have plenty of Kleenex (and champagne) on hand as we all enjoy a special screening of this Joaquin Phoenix/Jennifer Connolly/Mark Ruffalo (oh, and Linda Dano! ~ she plays Jennifer's mother) tearjerker.
For those of you that don't know the plot, this is from Linda's website:
The drama revolves around two fathers whose families and lives tragically converge with the death of a child. In the aftermath, Ethan (Joaquin Phoenix) and Dwight (Mark Ruffalo) each react in unexpected ways as their families struggle to cope.
From what I have heard and read, it is very emotional. I would fully understand, given the movie's content, if some you cannot bring yourself to watch the trailers or the film.
Here's a video I found that was made from the movie a week ago which means that someone either got an early copy or a pirated copy. It's from daughter Emma's (Elle Fanning's) point of view and done to the song "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan. LD can be seen in the vid and actually sits on Connelly's left in this still.
Linda had two bits of advice on her website regarding her role in this movie when it first came out on the big screen (okay, maybe TWO screens around the whole country) ~ one was not to go get popcorn or you will miss her part and, two, that she considered it a *character* part and that she was not all glammed up. She's too funny. Was anyone expecting Felicia Gallant?
BTW ~ the movie was in all my local newspaper ads (Best Buy, Fred Meyer, Circuit City) today (Sunday) and all the stores said they would have it in stock on Tuesday!! Heading out to pick up a copy at lunch time. Squeeeeeee!!!

Naw...this one came out way sooner than Days of Darkness. I think it was released to about two theaters in October then was supposed to come out on DVD in January but was pushed back (don't know why) to April 8.
