I'm going to guess either Peter Boyle, from Everybody Loves Raymond, or Michael Gross, from Family Ties, because I know that before their respective sitcom roles, they were both very big in the NY theater scene.

Although I admit, I've only been paying attention so that I know--aside from Mac and Rachel and Ada,and frighteningly enough Aunt Liz and Russ Matthews, who I hate just as much in '81 as I did in '89 and following--Sandy, Jamie, Blaine, Larry, Clarice, and Brian Bancroft. Oh, and Cecile, but that's a necessity.
When does Catlin arrive again? And his last name is Ewing like Larry and Blaine, right? Is he their brother or their cousin?

Taro Meyer is the r/l mother of actress Ari Meyer who played one of the daughters on the CBS sitcom Kate & Allie (though that may be before Amy's time, her bein' a youngin' and all).
I thought Melissa fit much better with SkinnyMitch than with Rachel and I thought at one point she was flirting with him but that may just have been wishful thinking on my part in the hopes that he would forget his obsession with *Raschel* Cory but I suppose if you don't get over yer obsession when she shoots you in the gut, yer hopeless!
I'm curious to know who the guy is too...

Kate & Allie was one of my favorite shows growing up! I have three seasons of it on DVD now! I didn't know Ari Meyers' mother was on AW! Neat!
I'm having a devil of a time getting episode # 4325 to play, but I finally saw him! The red-jacketed waiter was Michael Gross, best known as Steven Keaton, aka the ideal TV father, IMHO, from Family Ties. Cool!
And that Jess Cooper guy that was talking to Jason? That's the same actor that played the judge that sentenced Felicia for Jason's murder!
Also, maybe it's the aftereffects of the killer sinus headache, but Cecile is making me want to throw up, or throw something at the wall, and she isn't even messing with Cass. I hate seeing her jerk around Sandy and this Jamie, since I like both of them. And I just have to ask:

Did Cecile drug Jamie? She wants to leave him for Sandy because, as Rachel pointed out, Sandy is Mac's natural-born son, and Jamie is Mac's stepson? She's certainly capable of drugging Jamie! I don't buy that Rick Holloway drugged Jamie. They're friends, and Rick helped Jamie because Rick is a recovering addict himself. No way would Rick drug Jamie! But Cecile? Oh, hell, yes! And I also believe Sandy when he told Rachel that he didn't drug Jamie. He considers Jamie a friend and a (once and future) stepbrother, from what I've gathered. That may change when they're fighting over, of all people, Cecile, but for now, at least...oh, and when Jamie came back for the double wedding in '83, he and Sandy were glad to see each other. So I KNOW it wasn't Sandy or Rick.
