~~~As I watched Episode #4311 today,
I started to realize how many important things
happened in 1981.
For those who may be watching these episodes
on aol for the first time, I'll *hide*:
Spoiler:
By epi #4311 we are just starting yet another battle
between Rachel & Alice over a man. This time it is Mac.
Even though Rachel is bedding Mitch, she is hot over the
thought of Alice&Mac together.
{I really did not like the casting of *Alice* at this time,
JC will always be *Alice* to me}
By Sep, they will be engaged.
Steve Frame will return as Mr.Black. {played by AMC's David Canary}
Rachel will use it to her advantage.
Cecile will exchange Jamie for Sandy.
{Maggie will pop out in April '82!}
When Mac is hurt, Rachel will come running....
I'm terrible at matching up dates...but, we will have so much
great stuff to look forward to as AOL puts up more episodes.
If you happen to be good at math, here's what's on the horizon:
If Maggie pops out in April of '82 and Cass doesn't arrive until July of '82, how come Cecile tried to make Cass think he could be Maggie's father? Okay, so maybe he's a brilliant lawyer but not so good with numbers!
I soooo look forward to the Felicia/Cass, Felicia/Carl, Carl/Donna, Felicia/Cass/Cecile storylines and Jake's arrival. Also, was Catlin always played by the same guy cuz if soooo, I want to see him too!!!
I'm enjoying the 1981 episodes more than I thought I would. I love Mac and Ada of course. Rachel is being a moron right now. I really like Sandy, the guy playing Jamie (Richard Bekins, I believe his name is), and Larry Ewing. Still trying to decide how I feel about Blaine, Sally Frame (it's not MPK yet), and Clarice.
The guy playing Jason skeeves me out just as much as the guy playing him when he got shot and killed at Felicia's birthday party did.
And I still hate Cecile, Aunt Liz, and Russ Matthews as much as ever. (I startled my friend Sue when I was IM'ing with her while watching an ep, and suddenly typed, "HOLY CR@P! It's Dr. D!ckhead!" which I nicknamed Russ when he returned in '89 because of the way he treated especially John and Sharlene but, really, everyone. So then I had to explain who Dr. D!ckhead was, LOL.)
Having seen some of Mac and Rachel in 1983 thanks to Eddie, I'm hoping to see that whole story play out eventually....
Spoiler:
...when Rachel is blinded in the car accident that claims Steve Frame's life for real, and Mac, to be near her, pretends to be the English gentleman named John. Thank God she wasn't mad when she did get her sight back and realized it was really Mac all that time! That's the part I do have from Eddie--and it is hilarious, and my respect for Vivien rose considerably, when Cecile, that troll, was going to tell Rachel that it was Mac all along, and to stop her from doing so, Vivien physically tackled her to the ground and sat on her until Jamie broke up the fight, and then Cecile, the beeyotch, sucker punched Jamie to go running to Rachel, but she already knew, so Cecile was foiled after all. But seeing Rachel and Mac during that story, and seeing more of them during Rachel's amnesia story after Carl shoots her (why did she marry Carl again? He tried to kill both her and Mac more than once), since there are several clips of that, but I'd really like to see the whole thing.
And then there's the infamous Cass and Felicia grapefruit-in-the-face scene, and I'm totally willing to give Catlin and Sally as played by Thomas Ian Griffith and Mary Page Keller a try.
And Cecile trying to convince Cass he could be Maggie's father...just ARGH!!!!!!!
...in June of 1984. I think he was only supposed to be on for a few episodes (as Cecile's *henchman*) but they turned Wally into a full-time role, which is one of the smartest moves AW ever made. We (and AW) lost Wallingford far too soon .
Oh YEAH, I want to see him too! Well, more of him.
Spoiler:
Wallingford, that is. And I would LOVE to see the full scene of Wallingford, Felicia, and Cass getting hammered at TOPS that we only saw a few seconds of in the reunion special, where LD and SS revealed that it was real booze so they and BC all really did get tanked, and Linda had to be carried off the set. Since she never said otherwise, I figured Stephen and Brent were able to stagger away under their own steam. I LOVE that whole story, about the memos the next day and she goes to SS's dressing room and holds up her copy: "Do you think this is because of me?"
When *Catlin* arrives in BayCity, he uses the name *Josh*.
After a li'l stint with *Maisie* he moves on to the
'ever~fortunate~in~the~love~dept' *Donna*.
{A very nice warm-up for *Jake*}
*Catlin* becomes her stable boy, {shades of *Michael*},
and moves in to the apt above the horses.
I am so looking forward to the scenes when *Carl* starts
teasing *Bella* about her latest toy............Great stuff!!
Donna was the first woman John slept with after Sharlene's disappearance (about 6-7 months after), and she was married to and had children with his brother Michael, I'll buy that!
And I'll say this for Donna: age is never a factor for her.
Spoiler:
She likes them young--Catlin, which I didn't know about; Jake; and the one I'm still trying to figure out, Matt Cory. She likes them in her age range or a little bit older than her--Michael, Carl and John. If they're related, it doesn't bother her--Michael and John being brothers, and Jake having had both of her daughters before Big Donna had him--and she's drawn to the rebellious bad boys too--Jake and Carl fit this category for sure, I guess John did too, kind of? I don't know about Catlin.
Come to think of it, did ANY woman in Bay City get around as much as Donna?
~~~Have you watched #4312 yet Amy???
The guy applying for the bartender position...okay, I'll keep an eye out.
And no, I haven't gotten to that one yet, KT, and with my computer in the shop, it's going to be a while here before I will, like a week. I feel so lost without my computer! Half my LIFE is on it! Keep a good thought that the data on my hard drive can be saved and transferred to a new one, and that I'll get it back next week, because having to use the living room computer isn't much fun for me, because my family keeps ragging on me about it.
~~~Oh Amy, I know how you feel. I had to wait
2 wks until I was 'back in business' with this new
laptop. Seemed like an eternity.
The *mystery guest* did get the job at The Connection.{epi#4313}
*Mitch* is working there again too.
The new bartender was in the epi I watched today.
Can't miss him...he's wearing a bright red service jacket.
My fav moment today was *Cecile*. {epi #4314}
She's 'working it' big time at the Cory mansion.
Hope you get a chance to see this vintage stuff.
I love seeing *Mac* & *Ada* in their prime.
*Peter Brady* {Christopher Knight} is on a lot now too,
as *Leigh Hobson*.
