Anne Heche is the best Vicky/Marley. I know that she wasn't the original Vicky/Marley. To me, the others were the pale copies of Vicky/Marley. I just don't look at the others in the same way as I do look at Anne's Vicky/Marley. |

I saw all 3 actress as having unique qualities and each brought something new to the characters. It all depends on what you liked about the SLs. I preferred JB because she was on the longest and really transformed Vicky from a selfish schemer to a loving wife and mother. I did see old clips of Jake and Marley circa '85-'86 when EW played her and there was definite chemistry between the two actors in real-life that you were brought into the Jake/Vicky/Marley triangle so it was great soap drama. AH played the most intense version of both twins which made her the most memorable for many viewers. I thought the characters were taken in more extreme directions as Vicky being very bitchy and Marley being quite snooty and rather entitled. Plus, there was the fact that TE (who had amazing chemistry with all three actresses!) was the only actor to play Jake that made the SLs so intriguing otherwise the Jake/Vicky/Marley SLs would've fallen flat. There was only one Jake and TE played him the best. |

I think that Anne's Vicky/Marley change and grow during that time when Anne was on the show. Each twin had their strengths and weaknesses. They had distinctive personalities. To me, the others weren't distinctive. |

I beg to disagree, I think each actress allowed the characters of Vicky/Marley to go through their on evolution and take on their expereciences of where they were at that time in their life. The first one showed the innocence and immaturity that the twins were at, AH rounded them out to growing out of this into maturing young ladies, and Jensen brought them into their thirties. Each actress allowed the twins characters to grow up and mature and I don't think one actress really made the characters but they all picked up on the previous portrayors take and expounded on it.

I liked anne's Vicky best but JB;s grew on me over time.

I didn't get much of a chance to see EW's portrayal of the twins but saw AH & JB from beginning to end. I thought when AH left that no one could play Vicky but once she made the character her own, I thought that JB did a great job. I FF'd through most of Marley's s/l so couldn't tell you which one played Marley better but for me, I was satisfied with both AH & JB's Vicky, prolly cuz they both worked so well with PMV and TE.

Anne is my favorite Vicky and Marley too. She brought so much to both roles. I know that Marley was never really anyone's favorite character, but Anne's 1990-91 Marley was one of my favorites, and the bond between Vicky and Marley was, from what I've seen, at its strongest and deepest when Anne played both roles. As for Vicky, I actually started out hating her because of the whole "Who's Steven's daddy?" story, thinking that Jake, Marley and Jamie all deserved better from her...but as the story unfolded, and Vicky was faced with losing her baby boy, I began to see things from her side in a way I never had before, and that was when I came to really like Vicky, because she so often did the wrong thing, but I realized with Steven, she was trying to do it for the right reasons, which is a pattern that continued during the rest of Anne's tenure on the show as Vicky, and her Vicky and her Marley remain two of my favorite characters to this day.

Oh how I wish I had known about/had SoapNet when they showed Anne's Vicky from the beginnin'. Only gettin' to see her among the 39 episodes at HULU has been like only gettin' a bite of a great piece of chocolate. I want to eat the whole box!

From what i have seen...
Ellen was the best Marley.
Anne was the best Viki.
Jensen... *sigh* ... her Marley was awful. Really, just horrid. But her Viki was good.

Anne will always be Vic...& it doesn't really matter who or what plays Marley, she will always SUCK!
