Forgiveness

Chapter One

“NO!!!”
BANG! BANG!!
“NO!!!”

Then the eyes. Just the eyes above the barrel of the gun. Smoke curling up from the barrel and framing those eyes. The coldest, most unfeeling look contained within those eyes.
“NO!! You’ve shot……..”
Jerking awake, she realizes it was just a dream. A dream. A dream that has haunted her nights when things seem to be going right in her life and drags her back down; the dream where she wakes to sweat soaked sheets. The dream where she is trying to see whose eyes are contained within the smoke frame from the gun. But not this time, she tells herself. ‘I will NOT let it get me down today. Today is freedom. My freedom. I get my life back today. Freedom, sweet, blessed sweet freedom.’

Meanwhile……..
“Cass.”
“Cass, its time.”
“Counselor, WAKE UP!!!!”
Furiously shaking Cass Winthrop, Frankie is clutching her stomach and trying not to cry out. Through clenched teeth, she tries one more time.
“Cass, NOW!!”
Sleepily, Cass mutters, “Huh? Frankie? Now? What now?”
“It’s TIME”, she says through clenched teeth.
“Time? It’s 3:30am Mary Francis, go back to sleep.”
“No Cass, I mean it’s time to get me to the hospital, unless you want to deliver him yourself!”
Bolting straight up in bed and fully realizing what his wife was trying to get through his thick skull, Cass looks at Frankie. He says, “Are you sure? This time? It’s not another false alarm?”
“Cass, dear, I am sure. My water broke about an hour and a half ago, and my contractions are about seven minutes apart. I have already been in touch with Jamie at the hospital, and he said for me to wake you and get in there now. So, it IS time to go. Your son is coming today, counselor.”

Fate had been kind to Cass Winthrop. He thought his life had ended after he discovered what he thought was Frankie’s lifeless body. His reason for who he was and getting out of bed in the mornings was gone from his and his daughter’s life, or at least he thought so at the time. Losing Frankie made him realize how important and precious family was. Charley was his link to his beloved Frankie, the apple of his eye. Their hearts healed in time over the loss of Frankie, and in time, Cass learned to love again. Lila had taught him, he was not being unfaithful to Frankie by loving her as well. Then he and Lila realized that they would rather have friendship instead of a romantic relationship, once they both realized that they just cared about each other instead of being in love with each other. Lila was truly in love with Joe, and just infatuated with Cass. The friendship bond that they had built was not as strong as the one he had with his dearest friend on earth, Felicia, but it was still a good friendship to have. ‘Funny how two of my former lovers have become dear friends, first Felicia, and now Lila,’ he said to himself, as he dressed. ‘They have really stuck with me and helped me reunite with Frankie after we found out she was in the Witness Protection Program.’ Then he thought of Michael, who helped Frankie disappear because of Fax Newman. ‘Michael, how we still miss you.’

Coming out dressed, he said to his Frankie, now doubled over from the intensity of the contraction, “Let’s go, love and welcome Wallingford Michael Winthrop to the family.”

This is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

How come we all want to honor Wallingford by naming children after him but no one at AW thought of that?

Guess cause the writers were none to bright, Annette. I think we are a right smarter group than some of the writers that AW had in their employ, hehe.

Yeah, and it's called *doin' yer homework* (as in *research*) before you jes started typin' away. Dat's why I can't write stuff for JakeJake or Paulina ~ I would want to do it right and knowin' their history is part of that. Take Felicia ~ in 1987, she was Fanny Grady from Ohio whose first love was Eduardo whom she met when she scraped together enough dough to go to Europe. Two years later, she's Fanny Grady from Gold Street in Chicago. In 1983(?) when she attended the double wedding of Mac/Rachel and Sandy/Blaine, she gets shoved in the swimming pool but manages to get herself out just fine. In 1992, she falls into a swimming hole and suddenly doesn't know how to swim so Lorna has to jump in and save her. Details people, details!! We loyal fans pick up on this stuff!!

This is what I was kicking around: Nicole was really Jason's and Reginold knew this. Reginold used this info to destroy Nicole(abusive toward her), Jason, and I believe her mother was Elizabeth but I will do my homework on this one.
