I am curious if anyone here can fall asleep easy and quickly. I can't fall asleep easy and quickly. It takes time for me to fall asleep. If I have something on my mind for any reason, I could be awake for a while. Somwtimes I can't stay asleep. BTW, I thought about this when I was awake and laying in bed last night. |

Sometimes as soon as my head hits the pillow, I am out. Mom and Dad always said I could sleep through the house falling down around me, and that I had been like this since I was a newborn. Hubby though tosses and turns nightly, sometimes he wakes me up and sometimes not. Since I had the kids I find that I am easier to rouse because it is like my Mom sense is always on and if one of them even whimpers, I can hear it.

Janie I am just like you!
Most of the time once my head hit the pillow I am out! It drives G crazy! We will be watching something and next thing he knows i am out. He used to stop it so we could finish it another night now he finishes it and if i am lucky he won't delete it from tivo.
I am such a sound sleeper that when I was a teen and I traveled over seas with my parents to visit my Aunt and Uncle in Scotland and we tok the hoover craft over from Dover england to France. on the way back I actually slept through 9 ft waves and gail winds! I remember my dad and my Uncle teasing me that they couldn't understand how i could sleep through it since my head was rolling from side to side! That is probably why i have a bad neck now! LOL
When Nik was born i would wake at the slightest sound. With Kyle he slept just like me and rarely woke at night from day one. Now that they are older i don't wake as easy any more. _________________

I actually had insomnia as a kid and a teenager. I was doing really well there with sleep until recently. Now I have a hard time falling asleep and an even harder time waking up in the morning. Too much stress, I'm guessing.

This is an ANOTHER WORLD question!!!!
My DH bought me a TV for our bedroom one year on my birthday (July 3 - soon!) because of a bad habit that I started when I was watching AW!!!
I went to school full time and worked full time so I would go home at lunch and sleep from 1-2. Well, sort of. I would doze off. 30 winks as Rick said to Joey and Kit in a recent epi.
Well, I never ever got over the need to have the TV on to go to sleep and it has been 20 years!
Now I will start an epi of AW on my laptop and sometimes be asleep in a matter of moments. That is why I click on an episode many many times before I catch the whole thing. Junior will turn it off when he comes to bed.
That is also why I went back to the beginning and am watching them all over again. I found that I missed the last part of the episode where Rick and Marianne meet at the party and now that epi is gone. I will never see them meet for the first time!!

My answer to this question is both yes and no. I work shift work, both day and night shift. When I work day shift I usually have no problem sleeping. When you work night shift it's usually harder to sleep because it's bright outside, noisy and the phone sometimes rings. I'm getting better and found things that help me sleep better during the day. A couple of days ago I did not sleep well but the day after that I did.

I'm a self declared insomniac. Always have been. I can remember, vividly, laying awake as a child listening to the big trucks go by during the night, before the local freeway was built. I've never changed. _________________
