Does anyone else watch How I Met Your Mother?

I watched the first five episodes when it premiered back in '05, and I liked it okay, but I got distracted by other things. I tuned back in for the last three episodes of these season, which are three of the BEST episodes of the show I've ever seen, and I'm looking forward to the third season beginning in September already, and also to catching up on some of what I missed now that the reruns are airing Monday nights on CBS starting tonight.

But I confess, I have a crush on one of the actors: Jason Segal, who plays newly married lawyer Marshall Eriksen. (Something about me and lawyers.  Wink ) Marshall and his bride, kindergarten teacher Lilly Aldrin (played by Alyson Hanigan) are just so wonderful together!

I think Jason/Marshall is cute in that boy next door way.

If I knew how I'd post a picture of him here.

Anyway, is anybody else besides me watching this show?

Amy

{last night's rerun was a hoot!}

I have always loved NPH {ever since "Doogie"},
I think he makes the show.

I LOL just thinking about NPH's *cameo* in
"Harold&Kumar go to White Castle". Laughing

Cool Careful Amy....gotta watch those "next door" types! Shocked

NPH's character on How I Met Your Mother, Barney, is a frightening reminder of my youngest brother Aaron because of how Barney and Aaron both feel about women and about meeting women in bars.  Shocked  I got mad at Aaron for something the other day he said that was totally disgusting and said, "You're just like Barney on How I Met Your Mother!"

The Fed-Sex Truck...need I say more?

Good point, KT, but I just LOVE Marshall. And I don't think he'd ever do to Lilly the kind of stuff that Matt's been doing. I don't even WANT Matt with Jenna, I'm just ticked that he's talking and acting like AmanDUH now!

Yes, it is, Marlo.

Doogie Howser, or rather Neil Patrick Harris, is Barney Stinson, the womanizing, commitment phobic, Lazer Tag-addicted, suit-wearing daredevil of the group. And I admit, as much of a pig as he can be about women, he gets a lot of great lines.

For example, he came up with a list of names for his truck (even though it was a rental) that included The Fed-Sex Truck, the Eighteen Squealer, the Ford Explore-her, and the You Scream Truck. My first thought was, "What a pig!" My second though was, "He sounds FRIGHTENINGLY like Aaron!"

Alyson Hanigan, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and American Pie fame, is Lily Aldrin, kindergarten teacher and new wife of my law-school-graduate TV crush Marshall Eriksen played by Jason Segal of Freaks and Geeks.

They had such a CUTE exchange at their wedding reception when they went out on the floor for their first dance. Lily decided not to take Marshall's name (another Cass and Frankie parallel, I just realized!), this was their conversation about it:

Lily: Oh...Does it make you kind of sad that we don't share the same last name?
Marshall: You know, in a totally evolved 21st century kind of way, a little.
Lily: Oh...you know what we should do? We should come up with a whole new last name.
Marshall: Oh that's easy. Lily and Marshall Skywalker.
Lily: Lily and Marshall Hasselhoff.
Marshall: I got it! You ready? You ready?
Lily: Yeah?
Marshall: Lily and Marshall Awesome. Have you met the Awesomes? Marshall, Lily, their son totally and their daughter freakin?
(Both giggle)
Lily: I love you Mr. Awesome.
Marshall: I love you Mrs. Awesome.
(They kiss.)

Very Happy

Barney's first choice for a name for his truck was "the 69 Chevy."

They all had to do with sex. The Screw-Haul, the Barely-Eighteen Squealer, the Winne-bango, the Ride-Her truck, Feels on Wheels, the Esca-Laid, the Slam Boney...

I've decided we all have a Barney in our lives. Mine happens to be my youngest brother.

Keep in mind that Aaron is a skinny, middle-class white boy, okay?

When he got his driver's license at the age of 16, he wanted to have the words "PIMP DADDY" spray-painted on my dad's car.

Thank God my parents had the presence of mind to say no.

I'm not sure what's worse: him wanting to have "PIMP DADDY" spray-painted on Dad's car, or him nicknaming our cousin Matt's car "the Shaggin' Wagon!" So he DID pull a Barney and name a car, even though it's not his car, it's Matt's.

Thanks, Annette! Ah, there's the gang at their regular booth at their hangout MacLaren's Pub. That's a season 1 picture. Now we're on season 3, and both Lily and Ted have different hairstyles.

Clockwise, you have Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), Robin Scherbatzky (Cobie Smulders), Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan).

:humming: Ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba BA ba-ba, ba-da-da-ba-da-da-da-da-da, Ba ba ba ba, ba ba a BA ba ba, ba-da-da-ba-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da!

(It's the theme song, lol.)

I thought you will like this. In the current issue of TV Guide, there is their top ten of TV married couples. Lily and Marshall are on the list. In fact, they are number 5 on the list

To quote Marshall, "AWESOME!!!!!"

The only other prime-time show I watch is Men in Trees, so I don't know how they came up with four married couples that top Marshall and Lily, but I'm THRILLED that Marshall and Lily made the list. Thanks, Michelle! Very Happy

{mostly news for Amy Smile cuz this is her show}

From *welovesoaps* ~

Matt Mitovich at TV Guide is reporting that Eric Braeden of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS fame has scored a gig on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, playing Robin's father. His name? Robin Charles Scherbatsky, Sr.

(Apparently Alan Thicke is only Robin Sparkles' dad, in the "Sandcastles" video.)

The storyline set-up: As Ted and the gang hide in a restaurant from... er, someone, they each take turns recounting the the one person they would most hate to run into. Robin's pick is her father, seeing as she has Daddy issues — in that hers always wanted her to be a boy
.

Question:  Who's Robin?

WHOA! Thanks for the scoop, Nettie!

And now I just have to say, HOLY CRAP!

My mom watches Y&R, and let's just say that Eric Braeden doing a comedy...I hardly think that's possible. This should be interesting, because I'm gonna watch this and be thinking, "Victor Newman." Wanting Robin to be a boy, though...That sounds just like Victor Newman (his Y&R character).

Robin, played by Cobie Smulders, is the reporter with the Canadian teen pop star past ("Let's Go to the Mall" and "Sandcastles in the Sand"; Alan Thicke played Robin's dad in the video for "Sandcastles in the Sand," which also featured '80s pop princess Tiffany) who is the woman that Barney is (not-so-) secretly in love with.

Or, to make it easier, this is Robin:

Now I wonder who the gang's hiding from in the first place? Or are they hiding from Robin's dad? That part wasn't too clear to me.
