Me luvs jes about everything too though my favs are swimming, gymnastics (girls ~ they are jes too cute), beach volleyball, track. Not so crazy about boxing. The DH wishes he stayed competitive in BMX since it's now an Olympic sport!! He did have to scratch his head at *speedwalking*.

Speedwalking is an Olympic event now? Wow.
I'm not much for the Olympics, but I did see the rowing the other day, where Great Britain came from behind to edge out Australia. That was interesting to watch, so I'll say rowing.

I believe it was wrong to have the Olympics in China this year so we're boycotting the games. Winter events are the favorites around here anyway, especially figure skating. I did read that Mark Spitz felt slighted when he wasn't invited to be there to see that Phelps kid break his record though. I remember watching back in 1972 when Spitz won his seven golds so I do feel bad for him and still think he was the better athlete----his record did stand for thirty-six years and he did accomplish it without the benefit of having the "wing" span of a 747. |

~~~This film was released in the mid-60's. Jim Hutton{Tim's dad},
was a "speedwalker" at the '64 games in Tokyo.
I enjoyed most of the Olympic sports that were shown on TV. My most fave are gymnastics and diving.
My least fave are the team sports and the fighting events like wrestling.
Congratulations to all the Canadian medal winners!
We were into the diving events. Elizabeth was DVRing them and watching them constantly for the past two weeks. I think I caught glilmpses of the men's basketball games, and it sucks that the women's softball team got the silver. Now the Olympic committee in their wisdom has said Softball will not be included any longer in the Olympics. Guess they were tired of us Americans whooping everyone's butts in this event.
