How's about we make some tentative party plans to celebrate Judi's taking over the role of Paulina? Of course we don't know the date that it will air on *HULU* but I say we start making our plans now!
And in honor or Judi's biggest fan (Karina), I say we fly to Australia and celebrate there! But I need to be enlightened on the food that we might be dining on cuz the only thing I am familiar with is *Shrimp on the Barbee* LOL!!
Wait...after seeing this maybe we should rethink the locale...
Is that fer real???? {heebiejeebie shudder}

You know what? It's not even called shrimp here. Shrimp is only for the benefit of those residing in the USA. We actually call them prawns, but since I don't eat any seafood, you'll never find them at my house, LOL!
Typical party food, (Small kids and BIG kids alike) lol......
Party pies and sausage rolls...Tomato sauce (Ketchup) provided
Cocktail frankfurts
Fairy bread......no Aussie party can be complete without fairy bread!!
Other Aussie offerings...
Pavlova
Lamingtons
Tim tams
Damper
Anzac biscuits
There's plenty of strawberries in the supermarkets, and watermelon too. We're just entering Spring so all our Summer fruits aren't available yet....In Summer we have great mangoes, nectarines, apricots....you name it, we have it, lol.
Spider there is a 'Huntsman', often called a Tarantula here but nowhere near as big as REAL Tarantulas (Which we don't have here). Huntsman are pretty harmless, biggish but harmless. They do their own thing just wandering about, sometimes on the inside of the house, lol. It's the 'Black Widows', the 'White tails' and the teeny tiny 'Red backs' you need to be avoiding at all costs! _________________

FABULOUS Judy banner!!! I may have 100's of pics of LD but I have yet to figure out how to put them together in a banner like that. What software did you use? I can't seem to do that in PaintShop but it could very well be user error.

Am I pathetic for only recognizing Cocktail frankfurts and Ketchup? I'm gonna have to do a Google search on the rest but YUM...I'll be tryin' it all (please tell me that none o' dat stuff is fried spiders cuz *harmless* or not, dem things is skeery!)
I'm envious that you are jes beginnin' yer fruit season. Alas, ours will be coming to an end. But we still have one of my faves ~ blueberries. And yummy CA strawberries are still available at Costco.
Can't wait for Judi's arrival and the party!

I echo Nettie's sentiment--I have 100s of pics of SS and ABM, but I have no idea how to put more than 10 or 12 together in a banner. But then, I like making videos better anyway, and if once Sue and I figure out how to save clips from *hulu*...you remember how I made videos about Big Donna ("Mahna Mahna"), "Bittersweet Symphony" (JakeJake), and "American Boy" (back when Matt wasn't a cheating dog)? Well, I actually have had a song in mind for Judi's Paulina for quite some time, but I need the scenes to be able to do it, and that's where *hulu* comes in.
And now that I think about it, maybe it's time to re-examine my idea to do a video about AC's Lorna. Once again, I have the song in mind, but I need more scenes of Lorna from *hulu.*
Would y'all be interested in videos about Judi's Paulina and Alicia's Lorna? Should I add them to the works-in-progress list? (Sue and I are still working on the *hulu* saving clips thing.) I have a few scenes in mind already for both, but I definitely need more from *hulu* to really do the videos up right.
And if you're interested in the songs and/or lyrics, I can send you the lyrics if not also the songs:
For Judi's Paulina, "Dare You to Move" by Switchfoot
For Alicia's Lorna, "Miss Independent" by Kelly Clarkson. (Seriously, the first time I really heard that song was shortly after Lorna's arrival in Bay City, and I found myself thinking, "If I didn't know any better, I'd swear they wrote this song for Lorna!")
Count me in for the celebration of Judi's arrival!

I used Adobe Photoshop for that banner. I've never used Paintshop so I'm not much help to you there.

There's never a time when I'm not interested in something Judi! Miss Independent sounds like a great tune for Lorna!!

Don't know this song by name, don't know the group either....will have to check it out...maybe I've heard it before just the same. I'm not very 'hip' when it comes to group/singers names, LOL!
Anzac biscuits....Biscuits made with the main ingredients of Oats, golden syrup, brown sugar, flour....
Sausage rolls.......sausage meat with a pastry covering
Pavlova....Meringue base topped with tons of whipped cream and sprinklings of fresh fruit offerings.....or grated chocolate.....or whatever else you desire....
Tim Tams.....chocolate biscuits now available in a range of flavours
Lamingtons.....Squares of sponge cake dipped in a chocolate icing mixture, covered with coconut...
Party pies....bite sized version of the traditional Aussie meat pie....
Cocktail frankfurts...

I love angel food cake...does the cake have to be "sponge"?
Will this celebration be a *high* tea?

There's probably numerous recipes out there, but I found this one as an example....
Ingredients :
FOR THE CAKE
6 x eggs
3/4 cup castor sugar
1 cup self raising flour
1/3 cup cornflour
1/3 cup hot water
3 tsp butter, melted
3 cup desiccated coconut
FOR THE ICING
4 cup icing sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
3 tsp butter
1/2 cup milk
Method :
* 1. Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl then beat the eggs until thick and creamy.
* 2. Gradually add the sugar and beat well until the sugar has dissolved.
* 3. In a large bowl, mix the self raising flour with the cornflour.
* 4. Add the butter to the hot water.
* 5. Add the flour mix to the beaten eggs and stir well then add the hot water mixture. Combine very well.
* 6. Pour the batter into a 23cm. square cake tin that has been well greased.
* 7. Bake the cake at 180 c. for 35 minutes then turn out and cool on a wire rack.
* 8. To make the icing, mix the icing sugar and cocoa together then add the melted butter and hot milk. Stir well until the mixture is smooth.
* 9. Cut the cake into squares then dip each square into the chocolate icing then roll the cake in the coconut. Drain on a wire cake rack.
* * If you wish, cut the squares in half and spread with jam before dipping. _________________

~~~Bless your heart Karina
I'll be doing more of an assembly job than actual baking!
I already bought the shredded coconut & a tin of choc frosting.
I am going to try it with angel food cake. Doubt if my *cubes*
will look as perfect as the ones in the photo.
I'm debating which tea to brew....Earl Grey or Constant Comment??
NOW...all we need is a DATE for the party!
We LOVE you *JudiGurl*!
The latest episodes to hit HULU are July 11, 12 & 15, 1991. Per Eddie's site (and I'm sure you know this as well), Judi took over the role with the July 18 episode so she should make her first appearance in the next batch of 3 episodes that are put up on HULU and it seems as though they put them up late Wednesday (my time), early Thursday a.m. (East Coast time). So by this time next week, we should be seeing Judi!!! Squeeee!!!!
