I had no idea so many Bay City residents spent time in Springfield (the setting of Guiding Light).

How many AW actors and actresses can you find in these GL opening themes?

Hint: As much as it looks like Anne Howard (Nicole), or at least it did to me, that is NOT her in the 1985 opening.

Guiding Light 1985 Opening Sequence





(3 Bay City denizens, at least two of whom will be really easy to spot. You'll only know the third one if you've been watching 1981 AOL episodes.)


Guiding Light 1982-1983 Disco Version






(Yes, the actual music is enough to make you cringe, but keep your eyes peeled for two Bay City baddies, one regular and one temporary.)


Guiding Light 1987 Opening






(One's difficult to spot; one's easy to see; and one was a dead man walking because of Kathleen.)

1985 Opening:


Judi Evans Luciano, AW's Paulina Cory, GL's Beth Raines

Beverlee McKinsey, AW's Iris Carrington, GL's Alexandra Spaulding

Warren Burton, AW's Jason Dunlap, GL's Warren Andrews



1982 Opening:

Mark Pinter, AW's Grant Harrison, GL's (1982) Mark Evans

At 16 seconds, Rose Alaio, AW's Arianne, GL's Helena Manzini.



1987 Opening:

In the first shot, the man who picks up and swings around the woman is James Goodwin, AW's Kevin Anderson, GL's Johnny Bauer.

At 13 seconds, the laughing woman is Tina Sloan, AW's Olivia Delaney, GL's Lillian Raines.

And the guy being pulled in for a kiss at 19 seconds is Terrell Anthony, who played Kathleen's killed-by-Carl bodyguard on AW, and was Rusty Shayne on GL.
