Can I just say that it seems to me--someone who has watched one full episode total--that Grissom and Catherine have more chemistry in the pictures here than I hear from my friend Sue that he has with Sara. ("Chemistry? WHAT chemistry? She's got daddy issues out the wazoo, and she's annoying as h#LL!"--I'm quoting Sue there.)

OMG, Chuck is one of my dad's favorite shows! I'm taping it for him now because he's on the road so much. It's kind of a modern-day revision of Scarecrow & Mrs. King, only in reverse. Remember on SMK that Amanda (Mrs. King) was the civilian who got drawn into the world of espionage and being a spy for the good guys (back when we were still in the throes of the Cold War), and she got partnered up with Lee (Scarecrow), and they worked together?
Chuck is kind of like that, except Chuck is the civilian. He's a computer genius who got booted out of Stanford University for hacking or some such thing, so he works as an assistant manager at Buy More (which is a Best Buy/Circuit City type of computer/electronics/DVDs kind of store). Chuck is the head of the Nerd Herd (like Best Buy's Geek Squad), and computers are his thing. I don't know a lot about it, but from what I've gathered, Chuck somehow came into possession of some crucial national security information that makes him what is termed on the show "the intersect." Two CIA agents have been assigned to protect Chuck--a blonde beauty named Sarah, and an ex-military officer (male) named Casey. As part of their cover, Sarah has to pretend to be Chuck's girlfriend, only they're starting to really fall for each other, and they've saved each other's lives more than once. Casey's cover is that he works at Buy More with Chuck, but as a salesman, so he's in the goofy green polo shirt with the Buy More logo on the chest and the khaki pants.
Chuck shares a house with his ER nurse sister Ellie and her fiancee whose real name I don't know but whose nickname is Captain Awesome (from his high-school football days). He accidentally walked in on Ellie and Captain Awesome in the shower together in last week's episode and did the Phoebe-from-Friends "OMG! MY EYES! MY EYES!" thing, but it was funny because they were all sitting at the breakfast table, and Chuck said, "Okay, first of all, I live here too, and I was going to get ready for work, so me working in on you was NOT some pervert thing on my part. Secondly, congratulations to you crazy kids on whatever you had going on in there, which, I really do NOT need or want to know."
John Larroquette has signed on for several episodes this season, and last night was the first one. He's one of the CIA bosses overseeing Sarah, Casey, and Chuck in Operation Bartowski (which is Chuck's last name), and he was giving Chuck pointers on how to flirt with and pick up Melinda Clarke's character, a black widow type who had some information that they needed to steal back, and since her character would have known Sarah or Casey was CIA, they sent in Chuck to basically be this guy who tries to pick her up in a bar so he can get the information.
Chuck airs Monday nights on NBC at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central, so I have to tape it on another TV for my dad, because How I Met Your Mother is on at 8:30 Eastern/7:30 Central, and no way am I missing my weekly Jason Segel fix!
