First they won the audience's hearts as Sally Frame and Catlin Ewing...
...then they won each other's hearts in real life....
She left the show when her contract was up. When his contract was up a few months later, he followed her out to California....
In their own words......
"We're both headstrong and we clash, but I've never met a man who looks out for my needs the way Thomas does," says Keller, who at the moment is whipping up a batch of banana-nut muffins with him in her Hollywood kitchen. "He's the brightest, smartest person I know. We're so together, I think people hate us."
At that, Griffith brings her down to earth with a playful jab to her arm. "Why you pretentious brat," he says. Actually she doesn't seem pretentious at all. Confident and self-possessed, yes, but not puffed up like a Wilshire Boulevard publicist.
MPK on soaps: "It's good experience, good money and I met my boyfriend that way, which is the best thing that ever happened to me," she says.
Mary left the show when her contract was up....Her relationship with Griffith easily survived her departure from the soap. "90% of the actors working together get this heated, passionate thing," she says. "Then it falls apart because it was based only on what their characters were doing. But not us." Although they're not planning an imminent marriage, Mary says, "We take it as fact that we're together for the rest of our lives."
"Yeah," laughs Griffith, "she's stuck with me."
They tied the knot in real life on November 16, 1991, in North Hollywood, California.
They welcomed son Conor O'Neil Griffith on June 3, 1994, and son Eamon Michael Griffith on March 28, 1997.

Happy anniversary to your parents, Nettie!
Thanks, KG! I have to admit, I'm very curious about Catlin and Sally as played by Thomas and Mary. It was while I was trying to get more information on Catlin and Sally about a month ago that I stumbled across the website on TIG, where there's an entire section devoted to his AW stint, and I read all the articles and passed some excerpts on to Nettie as well (Thomas said that he would have liked to work with Linda Dano more). The thing that really stuck in my mind in reading all of the articles was the part where MPK said, "We take it as fact that we're together for the rest of our lives."
To which TIG answers, "Yeah, she's stuck with me."
They got together IRL when they were still on the show, so actually they've been together since 1984, so all told, they've been together for 24 years and married for 17 of them and have two sons (who I bet are as handsome as their dad, not that Mom is any slouch in the looks department either).
Anyway, that just really struck me as being a wonderful outlook to have on your life and your relationship--no matter what happens, we're in it together for all time. Then I looked up their wedding date, and when I saw that it was still about a month away, I decided that when the occasion arrived, I'd do this little pictorial thing, because I think marriages like this one deserve to be celebrated and acknowledged for the inspiration that they are.
I wish Thomas and Mary many, many more happy years together, and hope that AOL keeps going so that I can see Catlin and Sally for myself someday.
(I actually already have at least one song in mind for a potential Catlin and Sally video. If anybody remembers them, and would like to read the lyrics, let me know. It would be from Catlin's POV.)
