It's a *Joey*day...and that's always good!
~Whether he's playing kissyface with *Kit*,
or giving *Rick* a 'wake-up call' about his wheels & his wife...
I cannot get enuff *JP*.
"EdwardBlack"'s biggest secret is on very shaky ground.
~*Rachel*'s like a dog with a bone...might as well give up *Steve*!!
Once again *Denver* has all the info dropped into his lap.
~It wasn't enough that *Alice* & *Sally* told him everything he
needed to satisfy his boss...*Rachel* told him
who his boss actually is!!!
How many times will *Sandy* ask "the Queen" the same question?
~It really doesn't matter...he's gonna get the same lie every time.
Hey-she's always keeping something from you!!!!
If she only knew that her soon to be ex-F i L is in on the latest version of
Who's the Daddy??
Gotta love *Ada*.
~She never stops trying to get her selfish daughter to 'do the right thing',
even though she knows full well this latest quest won't end until the
mysterious one is unmasked.
Special note to *Rachel*...you don't want *Quinn* as an enemy.
Special note to *AG*...I think *Marianne&Rick* really do deserve
happiness with each other, even if they have to go thru
a bunch of crap to get there.
{like *Mac&Rachel* and your fav couple in the future}
B!tch & Cringe:
I know these epis aired in the pre-vcr days...however...
I am really getting tired of watching our characters as they
listen to audio tapes.
What a time waster. The shows could never get away with
this kind of cheap device these days.
Now the 'cringe'...How stupid of *Dr.W* to leave THAT tape in the player.
It seems like all the "head doctors" in this town went to the same lame University for their degrees.
GG's:
*Kit* calling her bro *"Ricky"
The 'antique' computer on the receptionist's desk.
Definitely the beginning of the end of Rachel and Mitch. Rachel isn't going anywhere. It does seem that she's staying just as much to find out what the deal is with Steve as she is for Amanda and Jamie. Better late than never: she's finally heeding her own advice about not rushing into things because doing so can make for a costly remedy. I'm liking this kick-butt-and-take-names version of Rachel. This is the first time I've seen even a glimpse of the Rachel I know and love from 1989 onward. Way to go, Ada, for pointing Rachel in Denny's direction. Denny's in for a surprise when he finds out Rachel was right and Edward Black really is Steve Frame. She wasn't letting anybody stop her. It was cute when she found Ada asleep holding Matthew's stuffed toy. I'm guessing that Rachel and baby Matthew are going to be moving in with Ada and Nancy in the very near future. I hope Rachel DOES nail Steve for staying away for so long. Actually, I hope they all do: Rachel, Jamie, even Alice. He's got it coming.
Pat and Rachel are very perceptive about their children, and also very right: Jamie's not capable of loving anyone right now, and Marianne is in love with an illusion. It was good to see Pat and Joey both encouraging Rick not to give up on Marianne. He really does love her; he's just so hurt right now. And not without good reason. But Blaine needs to reel in her antennae. I don't blame her for finding Rick attractive, but Rick is in love with Marianne. I'm a little concerned about that tape of Jamie's session, though, since Rick is apparently going to be listening to it to transcribe it.
Rick and Marianne DO need to talk, and it was good to see them agreeing to talk. I just don't know if it's going to be a productive talk. Depending on what Rick hears on that tape of Jamie's session, it could just be another argument.
Joey and Kit were just all kinds of cute, but in a good way. Loved the making out, and Kit calling Rick "Ricky" before she left, and Joey offering to fix Rick's car.
Sally finally told Cecile *some* of the truth: she admitted to telling Jamie that Cecile is pregnant. I almost laughed at Cecile's horrified face and "Sally, tell me you didn't!" remark. Yeah, it's not so much fun when you're the one whose secrets are getting blabbed all over town, is it, Cecile? I hope Cecile REALLY loses it when she finds out that Sally blabbed EVERYTHING to Denny, who then told Edward Black/Steve Frame. I hope Cecile DOES find this out and just have a complete meltdown over the whole thing. Nobody deserves it more.
And there was Sandy, yet again asking Cecile if she's keeping something from him. I just wanted to scream YES! WAKE UP ALREADY!
Guilty giggle:
Watch Steve Frame walk up the stairs of his penthouse and look at his legs. He has his pants tucked into boots that seem to stop about 4 inches below his knee. Did DC bring those over with him from the Bonanza set?

I would never put Marianne and Rick in the same class as Mac and Rachel, and of course Cass and Frankie are in a class by themselves, IMHO, but Marianne is more confused than I thought she was, as these past few episodes have shown, and despite all of the hurt he's feeling as a result of her actions and words towards him, Rick is in love with her, so if that's who he wants to be with and who will make him happy, then I'm for it.
I'm working on a video about Rick and Marianne's situation now from Rick's POV, and I'm also considering a Joey and Kit video, if I can pull together enough scenes of them.

Yes I was also thinking Rachel is a dog with a bone and there is no stopping her when she wants to find something out. What I find odd is losing custody of Amanda was not enough to keep her in Bay City, but her ex Steve Frame was? In the last episode when Rachel was thinking to herself and saying she didn't know what real love was until she met Mac. Funny how Mitch's name never came into her thoughts when she was thinking about the men in her life.
As bad as a person Cecile is, Sally still had no right to betray her confidence. This shows what kind of person Sally is. Also when Denny and Sally are flirting with each other they don't even mention Leigh's name. Nice ex-girlfriend and brother when they don't even feel guilty. Guess Leigh was right after all about his brother.
The thing about Ada that I found funny was that she use to discourage Rachel from going after Mitch. Now she is giving Rachel heck for not going to see him. Rachel only seems to want to do what her mom tells her not to do.
As far as the Dr. and the audio tape, I wonder if she knows that Rick and Jamie know each other. If she does know about their history then she was being pretty irresponsible.
Amy I was thinking the same as you about Mr. Black's boots. I remember my ex-husband and I saw Adam Chandler on AMC and he told me he use to be on Bonanza in a minor role. I didn't see any of his Bonanza episodes myself. lol

~~~Amy, I was speaking from a "relationship" standing only.
By no means was I comparing the *Halloways* to *Mac/Rach* or
*C&F* as one of the 'supercouples' of Another World.
I thought the *B>R<M>J* quad was written and acted pretty
realistically. Before this all plays out, you will have plenty of
material for a series of vids! Keep in mind *Jamie* was married
to "Missy Blaine" in the late '70's. These four really like dancing
around each other. Back in '81 I was pulling for *R&M* to make it,
and I feel the same way now. I hope you enjoy it all as much as I did
when I watched it the first time.
btw, I'm not sure I would have been as attracted to this s/l if
Richard Bekins and Tony Cummings were not playing the parts.
We were lucky to have them for as long as we did.
ps..Are you familiar with Tony's dad, Robert/Bob Cummings?
I think Tony inherited his charm as well as his good looks.
Yeah, I knew what you meant there, KG. I didn't mean to sound uppity or anything. It's been a rough week for me so far, with HIMYM and AW being the only bright spots.
I don't see the attraction with Blaine. I really don't. I mean, I don't roll my eyes and go, "Aw, crap!" whenever she's on like Sally the Snot (sign me Anxiously Awaiting MPK's Arrival) or Cecile, but seriously, WHAT do all these men see in Blaine? I don't understand that any more than I understand why all these women were attracted to Grant in the '90s. The only one that made sense to me re: Grant was Sharlene, and that's because she literally was not herself. Sharlene didn't want Grant; Sharly wanted Grant. And okay, I guess AmanDUH is self-explanatory (too stupid to know better), but Paulina, Lorna, Vicky...what was THAT about?
For me, it's the same thing with Blaine in the '80s. Jamie...Rick...Joey...WHY do they all think she's such a prize? The only one that makes sense re: Blaine is Jerry, because he's a total whack job. I'm with Kit: run Blaine outta town on a rail! Or, you know, throw her at Sandy. If I have to choose between Blaine and Cecile for Sandy, I'll take Blaine. I may not get the attraction, but I can stomach her better than Cecile.
And ITA, the writing is terrific for this quad.
I did finish a Rick and Marianne video from Rick's POV (you know me--love my Dr. Rick!) and post it at YT a little while ago. Time will tell if I can get another video out of their story.
I THOUGHT Tony Cummings was Bob Cummings' son! I remember seeing reruns of Love That Bob on Nick at Nite when I was a kid, and I wouldn't classify it as a favorite show of mine, but it was good. I didn't see very many episodes, but TC definitely reminds me of his dad!
I never saw DC on Bonanza either, Sharon, but I knew he was on there, and I've seen bits and pieces of episodes while channel surfing over the years, and the boots made me think of Bonanza. It's a penthouse, not the back forty at the Ponderosa! You don't need to tuck the pants into the boots!
Interesting observation about Rachel, too. :ducking Nettie's wrath as I say this: I noticed she didn't mention Mitch either. If Steve was her obsession, and Mac is the love of her life, then does that make Mitch Rachel's mid-life crisis?
~~~As my Grandma used to say...that's why they make

Maybe it does come down to the actress for me.
I really do "love to hate" NF's*Cecile*. SK annoyed me in the same
way JR gets to you as *Sally*. SK was the main reason I didn't
start watching the AOLvids regularly. As soon as NF arrived I found
myself anxiously awaiting each 'next installment'.
I don't understand that any more than I understand why all these women were attracted to Grant in the '90s.
I believe *Grant*'s biggest attraction was his power. It may
have been his family wealth for some, but a few of those ladies had
plenty of their own money...so for them it was definitely the power.
The only one that made sense to me re: Grant was Sharlene, and that's because she literally was not herself.

My fav match for this scoundrel was *Cindy*.

I don't know how much of the s/l you *know*,
but it's far from over...the juiciest stuff is yet to come!

Have you ever seen What A Way To Go!?
It's one of the 'glam' hits of the '60's. RC plays Shirley MacLaine's
therapist. I think Netflix has it available on "watch instantly".
Paul Newman, Gene Kelly, & Dick VanDyke are in it too.
Ann B Davis didn't change much from Love That Bob to
The Brady Bunch, did she??
I never saw DC on Bonanza either, Sharon,

I think the 'boots' are supposed to be a holdover from
*Steve*'s time "downunder".

No ducking necessary. It was always clear that Mitch was but a mere distraction to Rachel, both in the early eighties, the late eighties and after Mac's death. You think it was her friendship with Felicia that kept her from hopping into bed with Mitch in 1990? Heck no, she tossed MAC aside for some of that Mitch-action so I could definitely see her leavin' tread marks on Ms. Gallant. No...Rachel wanted...what was his name again...you know, he was such a big love of Rachel's life...ummm...the Outback Guy...ummm...Ken Jordan (what a super couple, eh?).

Cecile didn't bat an eyelash about pouring herself a drink, did she? Maybe the "Pregnant women should not drink alcohol" warnings were not p.c. in 1981.
Holy Macintosh ~ was that a HAL 9000 on the receptionist's desk? I think it was this model ~
Spoiler:
Loved Ada snoozing on Rachel's sofa with her socked feet sticking up.
Good going, *Dr.W*. Why didn't you just leave the cassette player in the "ON" position? Sheesh....
