~~~We're finally into November 1981!...
Spoiler:
*Denver*
~This guy is always in the right place at the right time,
except he didn't know when the boss had 'dismissed' him.
I was surprised his candor about *Rachel* was rewarded
with honesty from *Steve*.
"The Boss"
~Delivered my fav lines of the epi:
"When the time is right, you'll know the whole story."
and
"get the fire out of her nostrils"
DC's version is much like GR's when it comes to the
control freak thing.  Like most *Frame* males,
he wants what he wants when he wants it &
the rest of the *world* be damned!
*Alice*
~I'm liking Linda Borgeson more&more every with every epi.
I can't see Vana Tribbey in these scenes at all.
I like how *A* would only agree to see *R* on her own terms.
I'm looking forward to another round of *R>S<A*.
It's never boring when these 3 are going at it!
This time we have *Mac* in the mix too!!  Can't wait.........
*Jerry&Rhonda*
~I never understood why she wasn't enough for him.
She's needy, totally into him, and 'forbidden'...she should be catnip to him.
*Melissa*
~First time I ever agreed with *Cecile*.
Always leave before *M* starts singing whenever possible!
*Cecile&Sandy*
~I'm still cringing every time he calls her "sweetheart". Mad
However, he does seem to know what it will take
to be in a relationship with "the Queen".
I absolutely LOVE how *Maggie* is making her life miserable already. Cool
Sometimes I'm amazed by how different the *world* was in '81...
~Could you imagine a set designer using
carved ivory & elephant tusks now??
btw, my Cuz{Aunt Kate's daughter} always claimed *SF* was
"overcompensatiing for something by surrounding himself with phallic symbols"...
I think she may have been on to something!
All the furs were "real" back then too. Sad
Only 1 GG:
It seemed as though all the ladies were having very good hair days,
until I saw *Marianne*'s Cinnabon Laughing
ps...I'm so glad they gave us these 2 epis together. Very Happy
I'm off to watch 4400 in hopes of seeing
all the confrontations that should be about ready to happen................
Spoiler:
Oh, my poor Dr. Rick! He heard the tape of Jamie's session, and I thought for a second there he was going to break down and cry! But instead he went to The Connection and got hammered. Poor Rick, getting so drunk he couldn't even stand up...and yet he was still ethical and refused to disclose the real reason he was getting drunk to Melissa. I had a feeling Jason was going to call Blaine to get Rick. Blaine's right: Rick's going to regret this in the morning. I felt so badly for him, just wanting to be numb. He didn't want to feel anything at all.
I'm not wild about this Alice, but she did have good advice for Marianne: if you do go back to Rick, make sure it's for the right reasons. She definitely has a lot to make up for here. Before he was too far gone on the Scotch, Rick even mentioned his insecurities. And then when Blaine took him home, he kept saying "Don't leave me here alone." Awww.
I was surprised to see Steve flat-out admit to Denny that yes, Rachel was telling him the truth: Edward Black is really Steve Frame, which means he is James' father and Alice was his wife. But he wouldn't tell Denny anything more than that. At least not yet. I admit, I did laugh when that creep Mr. Eldon was complaining about having to deal with Rachel, and he said something about how much trouble she was going to cause, and Steve kind of smirked and said how astute Eldon was to make that observation. Looks like Rachel and Steve are headed for a showdown.
I wonder what will happen with Alice agreeing to meet Rachel at LoBerge (I'm guessing that's how it's spelled; it's that fancy restaurant that Denny keeps taking Sally to) tomorrow at 8 PM, since Steve wants to meet with Rachel before that.
Cecile is still keeping quiet about her pregnancy. At this rate, Sandy's going to be the last to know--Sally, Jamie, Denny, Eldon, and Steve all know about it. Sandy keeps saying he loves Cecile no matter what, even when she's scheming. He'll live to regret making that statement. Cecile is going to HAVE to tell Sandy soon that she's pregnant. I wonder how he'll react? I wonder how everyone else will react, especially Mac and Rachel?
Jerry and Rhonda don't interest me at all. I did see their scenes since I can't FF anything at AOL, but I get the feeling that as soon as Clarice, Larry and Cory get home from Disney World, Jerry's going to go back to stalking Clarice and making the phone calls as The Breather.
Sounds to me like Mr. Black trusts Denny.  He probably feels Denny won't risk his high paying cushy job by revealing the secret.
I'm confused to why Cecile won't tell Sandy she is pregnant.  She should know by now that Sandy won't desert her if she is carrying his kid.  I guess she is afraid Sandy will think the kid belongs to Jamie.
When Blaine and Rick were back at his apartment I was waiting for Marianne to walk in and catch them in an awkward position.  Marianne is now the stand up girl.  Both Jamie and Rick have stood her up.  Maybe she needs to realize it's best to be on her own now so she can figure out what she really wants.  Speaking of Marianne's hair, I thought it looked better today then yesterday.  When she was talking to her mom she had some stray hairs sticking out that distracted me and I couldn't pay attention to what she was saying.lol
Rhonda reminds me of 14 year old Loretta Lynn as portrayed by Sissy Spacek in Coal Miner's Daughter.  But I don't really get the "you're too young for me" thing.  Rhonda doesn't look young.  She just acts it.
Melissa should really stick to singing and quit being such a buttinsky.  Wait...I take it back...NOOOOOOOO....don't "sing!!!"  Darn it.  Too late.
Curtis may be wearing the thickest glasses I've ever seen.
Cecile seems to be having morning, afternoon, evening and nighttime sickness.  And how long does she intend to keep Sandy in the dark?  Cecile, sweetheart, the baby bump is gonna give you away soon.
The Olivia Newton-John/Cliff Richard duet of "Suddenly" playing in the background when *Denver* and Jerry were talking brought back memories.  And it meant that Melissa didn't have the microphone.
Marianne's *Minibon*
What was with all the scuff marks on the phone that Alice picked up?  Looks like someone's been slamming that receiver down.  A lot.
And why is SF's place decorated like he's King of the Safari Hunters?  His boots look like that too.  Or were those leftover from the Ponderosa?
