~~~Reality rarely lives up to the fantasy...
Spoiler:
The *Ewings* return from "The Magic Kingdom"
~Cheesy, but fun...until *Jerry*'s face appears...
{This was obviously before ABC&the Mouse teamed up} Wink
The BIG MOMENT
~Personally, I just loved *Alice*'s reaction to "Nu-Face".
*SF*'s ego is as HUGE as ever!
Maybe he should have grabbed the white rose off his desk...
*Denny* is an obnoxious ass, as always.
~Only this idiot would complain to *Q* about the job.
How stupid was it to admit he knows "EB"'s true identity?
Even clueless *Clarice* sees thru him.
I must say *D* is nothing like his sibs or his Dad.
*Charlie* was one of the "good guys".  Loved him w/ *Ada*.
Special note to *Alice*:
~Don't go out for ice cream when you've
lied about being sick!
Notes from the "safari PH"
~*Steve* acting like a giggly school boy on his
phone convo with "Lady Di" made me gag.
I'll warn y'all now...she was not one of my fav characters.
She did bring Anita Gillette to us briefly as her future M-i-L.
*Diana* was yet another woman who couldn't say NO to the stable boy.
HEY WENDY~*Steve* said "How's the Captain?"
Loved *Rachel*'s entrance on *Steve*'s "Alice will be mine" line.
Even *S* remarked that she 'knew' who he was immediately,
unlike his precious lady love.
BTW,
How many hunks in the hay have we had over the years?
  *Michael*...*Catlin*...*Cameron*{technically not a stable boy,
but he lived over the garage}...and *Pete Shea* for "Lady Di" are
all I can think of right now.
My heart was breakin' for *Mac* again when he was asking *Brooks*
about *Alice*.  Love how *Louise* zeroed in on the slightest
hint of trouble in paradise.  Her "medicinal plants"~~love it!
Look out when *Louise* is packin' a teapot!!
GG:
~"The typing pool"  Laughing
Even the small office I worked at in '81 had word processors!
I was thinking the same as you KTin, this show was certainly before Disney bought ABC.  It brought back a lot of memories for me when I went to Disney World in the 70's.  I knew all the rides they were talking about.  Jerry if definitely going nuts.  First he wants to go home then he comes back.  Looks like he is jealous of the Ewing's happiness.  Rhonda sure didn't last long.
Alice wasn't thinking too well in this show.  Did she not think she might run into someone who knows Mac when she went out for ice cream?  I am waiting to see if she forgives Steve.  It must have been hard for fans back then when the original Steve and Alice were not brought back.
It was interesting to hear that Leigh is dating a new girl.  Guess that will make Denny not feel guilty about dating Sally.  Maybe the writers thought the audience could then warm up to Denny and Sally.
Will Jamie have the same reaction to Steve that Alice did?
Maybe it is just me......we go for ice cream when we are sick.
Well, we don't go out but a good bowl of Breyers will help settle our stomach when that is the 'sickiness'.
Soooo, I didn't think it was all that weird.
I'm finally getting caught up!
Spoiler:
--Wow, Alice has a serious case of hate going for Steve. I understand why, though. Letting your spouse think you're dead for 10 years is hardly endearing. I still laugh at Steve's boots. That's my permanent guilty giggle. Clarice's hair isn't even as bad as those boots!
--Speaking of Clarice, she and Larry were a hoot singing the theme song from "The Mickey Mouse Club." CreepyJerry has snapped, all right. He heard them laughing and got this strange look in his eyes. I think he's going to attack Clarice, or try to. Larry's going to want to rip him to shreds.
--Speaking of ripping to shreds, that's what Rachel did to Steve. It was nice to see her telling him the score. Somehow I don't think Jamie is going to be any happier to see Steve than Alice was. Like Rachel said, Steve wasn't there all those years when Jamie really needed him. Mac was. (She didn't say Mac was, but we know he was.) At least Jamie's coming home, finally.
--Steve is an arrogant S.O.B., isn't he? Despite Alice's behavior, he's talking like them getting remarried is a foregone conclusion. He apparently doesn't consider Sally his daughter, because he mentioned her but only in the context of Alice adopting her. However, this Diana he was talking to on the phone--"Lady Di" for a nickname? Sheesh--is his stepdaughter, and I have to admit, for all his faults, and they are many, he seems to be a good father to Diana. Mr. Eldon being all giddy about Diana was kind of sick, though.
--Quinn knows more about Steve Frame than she has let on. Denny's temper tantrum still wasn't appealing, though. And now he thinks he's going to play matchmaker and get Alice and Steve back together and win points for that? I don't think so, Denny. He is racking up more slimeball points though, by admitting his interest in Sally to Clarice, although he then had to backtrack and say he just wanted to offer her advice on school and her career. Yeah, right, and there's a bridge in Brooklyn for sale too.
--Louise is going to be overjoyed when the news that Steve Frame is alive and back from Australia becomes public knowledge, because the only Mrs. Cory she wants there to be is Rachel. Actually, I can relate to that. I feel about Cass and Frankie the way Louise feels about Mac and Rachel. Brooks was funny not wanting to drink the herbal tea, and when he found out about Louise's herbal recipe book, he said, "Well, I'm in for it now, aren't I?"
--Jim Matthews has clients named the Hickeys? Somebody had a good laugh getting that past the censors back then, I'll bet. Also venturing into risque territory, even though they made it clear that Steve and Diana were discussing a horse, when Steve said, "How is the Captain? Have you jumped him this week?" despite the fact that I KNEW they were talking about a horse, my first thought was "jump his bones." In my defense, it was 1:30 in the morning when I saw that scene, and I was a little punchy by that time. Still, between Jim Matthews' dinner with the Hickeys, and Diana Black "jumping the Captain," I think somebody in that writers' room was having fun sneaking suggestive dialogue past the network censors, since there actually were network censors in 1981.
