I read some of the clips of '92. Why did Jake care that Jamie and Kelsey paired-up? I thought about some of the other gestures Jake did for other friends, Sam & Amanda, Dean & Jenna. Personally, none of them deserved what Jake did for them, but why did he do it? Did Jake really consider them as friends? I wouldn't consider their treatment of him as friendly, with exception of Sam, maybe Dean. Any thoughts/insight on this? I'm frustrated with this. Soaps are so clear about displaying clear-cut friendships, but Jake's relationships were always so complicated. |

That's because JakeJake is so complicated. There's no black & white with My Boy. I don't think anyone can say they hate JakeJake...Not even the citizens of Bay City. So even after the Marley Incident, Bay City couldn't write off JakeJake cuz he jes has this way about him that makes everybody forgive & forget(or at least push it to the back of their minds).
Remember, at this time JakeJake still wanted Marley(why, I have no idea) so Kelsey/Jamie pair up would suit his needs jes fine. Plus I think part of JakeJake really luvs watchin' Jamie squirm...lol!

Ya know Sam, Olivia & Dean were purdy nasty to JakeJake after the Marley Incident...Especially Dean considerin' he didn't even know My Boy(nor Marley) that good & had no right judgin' him like he did without knowin' all the facts.
JakeJake has always had that need...The need to be luved & accepted by everyone. Even when My Boy was Rotten, he was never Totally Rotten. Take Paulina...God, My Boy wanted so bad to bury her alive after she plugged him...JakeJake STILL couldn't play all the way down & dirty with her cuz he had a heart & knew how it felt to be dumped on...So everytime he had to play nasty, he would wind up playin' Warm Fuzzy with Paulina right afterwards.
Yeah, I do think JakeJake considered all of them his friends...Welp, dat's jes the Kinda Sweetheart he is!

Was Felicia ever nasty to yer boy? I always liked Jake (prolly cuz he was so complicated) but never really paid attention to whether or not Felicia liked him (the first time around). However, with YT and the other opportunities to see them together again, it always seemed that Felicia was decent to Jake. And they broke my heart when he gave Felicia his condolences on the death of Zane (though part of me figured it was the chemistry between LD & TE that made it all work so well). I sure wish they had more of a s/l together in all the years they were both on the show.

Ya know, I can't remember one time dat Yer Gurl was ever nasty to my boy. Even after the Marley Incident, yer gurl was always civil to My Boy. Felicia was harsh at times, but more in a motherly way. Didn't I send you the clips of Yer Gurl & JakeJake when she figured out something was up with Big Donna??? I LUV dat Covo! Also luv when My Boy was drunk at Tops & Felicia kept wantin' to give JakeJake advice & he kept shruggin' her off...Then Dr. PukeBobLoserPants walks in & JakeJake goes all to hell...You could see Felicia was pissed but she babied JakeJake cuz she knew he was jes hurt & My Boy told her he didn't think he could drive home...Ohhhh, Felicia was so Sweet!!
Yeah, it wudda been GREAT if Yer Gurl & My Boy had more scenes together over the years! Maybe if Felicia had hooked up with JakeJake after Mitch had left, it wudda put some Giddy Up in Mitch's GoGo!

I floved Jake/Felicia scenes. They sparkled together on-screen TE and LD had that off-screen friendship and chemistry. I wish they had a closer friendship on-screen as well. |

YUP!  When I posted yesterday, I knew there was a scene between them where one said to the other "I like you" and the other said "I like you too" and now that you reminded me, that was the scene!!
And luvs me the scene where JakeJake was drunk at TOPS too ~
 
As for Mitch, yeah, yer boy could have definitely taught him a thing or two 'bout what you really should do when you've locked yer woman in the darkroom (and dropped the keys down yer pants). Felicia wudda had her happy face goin' on instead of this scowl ~

Jake and Felicia would have been an interesting couple. It probably only would have been temporary, like Jake and Big Donna, but it would've been fun, don't you think? And yes, ITA, Jake locked in the darkroom with Paulina dropping the keys down his pants...I can just see the smirk on his face as he's telling Paulina if she wants the keys, she can come and get 'em. The way those two were always going at it, the keys would have been tossed into the corner in about 30 seconds, followed rapidly by every stitch of clothing Jake and Paulina were wearing!
Speaking of Jake, Paulina, clothes, and getting it on, I hope HULU eventually posts the laundromat scenes with Jake and Paulina. I've always wanted to see those! I've seen screencaps. Just think what Jake and Paulina could have used that washing machine for if it hadn't overflowed with bubbles!

Ack Amy!!! I sent you the LaundryMat scene & the Shower scene via *Yousendit* a while back!!!!! Karina sent it to me & I tossed 'em yer way figurin' you could do something with them...Double Ack!! Maybe I can getr Karina to post them again.
Ahh NG, Yer Boy did purdy good tossin' them keys down his pants & even tho we didn't really get to see it, I'm sure yer Gurl went after 'em!

I haven't seen the ENTIRE scene again (since it first aired in 1988) but thanks to you and Amy, I got to see some a lot of it. Before Mitch puts the keys down his pants, Felicia gets so ticked at him for locking her in the darkroom to begin with. She's throwing stuff around, turns the lights on to ruin his pictures, plus pitches quite the fit about how he's obnoxious and everything is always on his terms. But once the key retrieval starts, things get going when she slams him up against the door. I don't remember it 100% but I'm pretty sure that the last scene of the episode shows them in the dark(room) and all of a sudden you hear the "tinkle tinkle tinkle" of keys and Felicia triumphantly sez "Got 'em!" Ya think she really meant the keys???

Let me ask this in reply: do ya REALLY think Felicia would have sounded so triumphant if all she got was those keys?
