I have several stories in mind right now.
One is an AU using characters who either
died on the show, or left Bay City. In my
story, they never left or never
died. (I'm planning
to scramble a few couples here.)
Another story, also AU, will show certain
character behaving OOC (Out Of Character)
Example: If Ryan were on the take, or if Grant
were a good guy, or if Bridget hated tea, that
would be OOC. Some characters, however,
will behave the way they do on AW.
I also have an AW/ATWT crossover in mind, involving
both the 2-3, and what I like to call The Oakdale
Police Farce.
Finally, I'm working on something I actually began
more than a year ago on my website,
showing how some out-of-town characters
react to the news of Frankie's death.
Since that's already been started, I think
I'll post it first.

Ohhh! I like this idea. I want to do a AU FanFic, I just don't have the time.
But, I'd like to give some of my suggestions, if I may.
This are more "WHAT IF'S", but I hope some are used in the FF.
1. (What if) Jake never cheated, divorced, r---ed, Marley, but they were actually happily married but Marley was a cheating bored, housewife. Jake builds a successful construction business in LA and moves it to Bay City because of Marley, who want to go back and be with her family. Over the next few years, there are problems, because he puts WAY too many hours building his business, and becomes quite the construction magnate, including offers to expand the Cory complex and the Love Towers. But, Marley starts to reject Jake both emotionally and physically, while having "secret" affairs, that Jake knows about. Also, she doesn't want children, but Jake (desperately) does. But, he continues to work on his marriage to Marley, because he doesn't want a divorce.
2. Paulina (lost Cory daughter) becomes interested in a Harrison (Ryan!), not Grant, who is too boring for her. Ryan is more rebellious and unpredictable, and doesn't mind breaking the rules, even though he's a tough, no-nonsense cop. They date exclusively, but Ryan feels Paulina is too needy and doesn't want to be exclusive anymore, but see other women. Paulina is hurt and they break-up. But, she becomes smitten, with a lonesome and gallant (Jake!) wandering alone at a Cory party. She flirts with him, but he kindly turns her down and explains he's married. She refuses to take no for an answer and sets out to get him away from Marley. When Jake walks in on Marley kissing Grant, he leaves heartbroken and Paulina consoles him telling him he deserves better. They have an affair and she becomes pregnant with Jake's baby, but tells Ryan, the baby is his because she's doesn't want to be a single mom or be labeled a homewrecker.
3. Vicky decides to run for political office (with her newfound connections, after her divorce from Jamie) and becomes Bay City first female mayor, but uses her power against those who threaten that power. She becomes smitten with new DA Kevin Harrison Anderson, who reveals himself to be a Harrison cousin, which stinks because she despises ALL the Harrison men.
How am doing? I'll post more new items. I like what I have so far. |

In the "you learn something new every day" category, I actually had to look up "AU" fan fic since I had no idea what it was. Wikipedia has an entire page dedicated to it.

I may use some of these ideas, perhaps combining
several of them, and using my own modifications.

I wish I had the time to write-out my ideas. I have a few more suggestions.
Carl is still a criminal, but Rachel never marries him. Carl builds a rival publishing house and they duke it out in the boardroom. Carl reveals to Ryan that he's not a Harrison, but a Hutchins and invites him to work with him. Ryan accepts with one condition that he have powerful job at the company.
Jake learns Paulina is pregnant and suspects the baby is his, but she lies and tells him the baby is Ryan's, who she marries. Jake accepts it. He tells her that he thinks Marley may no longer love him. Marley learns of Jake's affair with Paulina and tells him she will change her ways, tells Jake she loves him very much and wants to give him a child. Jake agrees to have Marley back, but he can't stop thinking about Paulina. |

I'm working on several stories, including
my ongoing BAY CITY FOREVER,
which is part of my website, and is not AU.
As for the AUs, only one will be a multi-parter;
the others are one-shots.
At least one of these individual stories will be a comedy.
