In 4405 & 6, it was only the acting talent of Richard Bekins that kept me from hating Jamie all over again. What a whiner! If it had been LL or RT spewing those lines, I would have FF thru it all. I was with Marianne and she pretty much said that Jamie needs to suck it up.
OTOH ~ enjoyed seeing the *real* side of Cecile. When NF is playing Cecile for real (and not that little *act* that Cecile puts on for just about everyone), she's really very good. I saw it when she confessed (almost) all to Sandy and then again with Jamie. I can't wait to see her with Cass (ummm...provided that someone takes over the episodes from AOL ~ Please!!!)
Now for the s/l surrounding the rape. Just when I thought (in 4406) that it wasn't going to be that bad or unbelievable, I watched 4407 which completely wiped out that notion. When Jerry was waiting for Clarice, when he attacked her and when she saw him going out the door (all, thank God, very brief scenes), I thought it was intense and well-done (the lack of dialogue played a major part in that). But in 4407 when Clarice identified Jerry as her rapist and the subsequent handling of the entire situation, it was so badly done I wanted to FF thru it all. First of all, why wasn't Clarice taken to the hospital by anyone? Watching her flop around the house and cry out for Larry was painful. I agree, the omission of Ada was glaring ~ she was the one who was so concerned for Clarice's safety that she drove her home and only left her alone cuz she thought Larry was coming straight home after he called Clarice. And it was painful watching *Larry* drive around town looking for Jerry. And the doofuses at the police station? Puleeeeeeeze!
And what was that confrontation between Larry & Jerry at the OK Corral? Er, I mean, The Connection?
Rape s/l's, like the serial killer ones, were never my faves but AW would eventually do a much better job with the later rapes of Marley and Lorna. 'Course both Anne Heche and Alicia Coppola were much better actresses than Gail Brown. And the supporting players were top-notch too. I still remember the goosebumps I got from AH's Vicky when she opened the door and saw Marley standing there and then watching the horror that spread over Vicky's face when she realized what Jake had done to Marley. Same with Felicia when Lorna showed up at her door post-rape. When they were sitting on the couch together and Felicia figured it out, the look on her face spoke volumes.
