It looks like the switch to Brightcove will affect the P&G soaps channel,as AOL has closed it down,but it looks like they are working on moving these shows elsewhere(maybe Hulu?)

PGP CLASSIC SOAP CHANNEL

Effective 2009, Another World, The Edge of Night, Search for Tomorrow and Texas will no longer be streamed on AOL.

PGP appreciates the support of AOL and all of our loyal fans who loved and watched these shows during their most recent run. We are currently exploring other options in making these shows once again available for viewing and hope that that the break is only temporary.

Stay tuned for up-to-the-minute news and, in the meantime, please check out the 1991 episodes of Another World currently airing on Hulu.com! posted by PGP Classic Soaps at 8:09 AM 0 comments links to this post

~~~Well Chuck, here's hoping P&G is able to 'make it so'
with one of those "other options".  I was truly enjoying the
'81 episodes, especially Richard Bekins' *Jamie* as well as
Chris Rich&Nancy Frangione.  Also, I was so hoping everyone
who did not get to see *Cass* and *Felicia* arrive in BayCity
the first time would get to enjoy it along with the *vets* this time.
There should be room online for all of it!
Thanks for posting the info...
ps...I could really use some 'closure' on this one:
WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I'll grant you, I'm not actually sobbing this time, as I was when SoapNOT screwed us all over, but I thought the move to Brightcove wouldn't really affect things!
Damn you, AOL! I want Sandy to get his brain back and DUMP Cecile! I LOVE Richard Bekins' Jamie and want to see what happens with him. (Does he forgive Steve or not? Their confrontation ROCKED! RB just OWNED those scenes, and DC is no slouch.) I want to know if my Dr. Rick gets it together with Marianne or if they really do split up; I know he leaves eventually, and I want him to leave happy! Rachel still has to officially end things with Mitch before she hooks back up with Steve Frame...and Mac needs to know that Steve is alive too! I was all psyched for Louise's pure joy at finding out that Mac WON'T be marrying Alice! And Clarice and Larry FINALLY got rid of CreepyJerry, and they're supposed to have a baby, aren't they?
And the future...THE FUTURE, AAAAHHHHH!!!! Mary Page Keller as Sally! Sally and Catlin's love story! The return of JC as Alice! THE THREE MUSKETEERS!!!! Come on, Brightcove, you CAN'T screw me out of The Three Musketeers, you just can't! The whole storyline where Rachel's blind and Mac pretends to be John Caldwell to be close to her, and then they get back together and get married for the third and final time! I've been wanting to see that entire story since I saw the end of it on Eddie's "Best of Mac and Rachel" edits! Rachel finally accepting Sandy--I figure she does, because knowing Rachel, she wouldn't have agreed to share her wedding day with him and Blaine if she didn't, and since Sandy jokingly told her before he and Blaine left for their honeymoon to keep everybody out of the pool after Felicia fell in during her fight with Julia Shearer, I think they must have gotten along okay starting at some point, right? And Sandy and Jamie! Do they make up? Do they become best friends again, or even act like the brothers that Sandy (and Mac) so obviously consider them to be? And Felicia's grand entrance in the limo! Cass's arrival!  And Felicia smashing the grapefruit in Cass's face! The scene from TOPS where she, Cass, and Wallingford get hammered on real booze because they ran out of tea and the prop guys gave them the good stuff! Rachel's amnesia! Michael and the REAL Donna arriving and finding each other again! The original reign of terror of Carl Hutchins...and the dastardly deeds of Reginald Love! And call it morbid curiosity, but I NEED to know...exactly how did Blaine "The Whiner" Ewing, the woman who spent the lion's share of 1981 using Bay City as her own personal speed dating course from what I saw (the late, not-so-lamented Jordan Scott; CreepyJerry; Joey Perrini; and now she's trying to get her claws into Dr. Rick) end up falling in love with and marrying Sandy Cory?! I mean, if it's a choice between Blaine and Cecile, I'd take Blaine (and obviously Sandy does too), but this, for me, is like Matt and Donna in the '90s: I've heard that it happens, but just HOW exactly does it come about, because I try to picture it in my mind (both Sandy/Blanie AND Matt/Donna), and I just can't. I need to see it to understand it!
There's just too much good stuff in there! They've GOT to find a place to post it, and soon! They've just GOT to!
I will suffer through Cass and Cecile, and Ellen Wheeler as Vicky and Marley, if I have to! Just please let this be a temporary thing! They're currently exploring other options, so that's a good thing, right? It means they're trying to find some other means to keep going from where they left off as soon as possible!
I kind of feel like Fozzie Bear's mom in A Muppet Family Christmas: "YOU'RE disappointed?! I just took three months of surfing lessons for ZIP!"
:blush: I already had a song picked out for a video of Catlin and Sally, and the PERFECT song for Mac and Rachel during the blindness story that ends in their reunion! One of those "if I didn't know better I'd swear it was written for them" songs!
Spoiler:
Catlin and Sally, Catlin's POV: "She's Everything" by Brad Paisley
Mac and Rachel 1983, Blindness Story and Final Reunion: "When You Come Back to Me Again" by Garth Brooks
And WHERE did you get that GOREGOUS picture of Linda and Stephen, Nettie??? How recent is it? Where are they?
I *phished* the pic of course  Wink .
I believe it's from May 2000 (so not that recent).  A gallery in NYC presented a Wearable Art Fashion Show Benefit for God’s Love We Deliver, an AIDS charity organization, and Linda was the host.  Somehow SS was involved with either the benefit or the gallery but I was unable to figure out in what way.  Doesn't really matter, loved that he and LD were in this picture together.
Sad Thanks for letting us know the sad news Chuck.  I am very disappointed.  Getting to see any soap from the early 80's is such a rare treat.  I hope these 81 shows find a new home very soon.  Of course I love that there are AW shows on hulu.com but I just find with AOL after I download the show it runs very smoothly.  Because I live in Canada and have to use hotspot to view the 91 shows, sometimes they stall.  Some days hulu works better than other days.  For me in a perfect world, youtube.com would be the best place to show them.  I rarely have problems with youtube and it is also an international site.  Guess we will have to wait and see.
