What makes a person truly beautiful? Executive producers Tyra Banks (The Tyra Banks Show, America's Next Top Model) and Ashton Kutcher (executive producer of Punk'd and Beauty and the Geek) re-define the concept of beauty in a wildly revealing new ABC series, True Beauty, premiering, MONDAY, JANUARY 5, 2009 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Hosted and judged by Vanessa Minnillo (former host of TRL and ET), along with judges Cheryl Tiegs (America's first supermodel, currently designer and author) and Nolé Marin (America's Next Top Model and fashion expert for E!, TV Guide, The Tyra Banks Show), the series will determine the True Beauty of six stunning females and four handsome males who will live together in a spectacular Los Angeles mansion as they undergo a series of challenges to determine who is truly the most beautiful.
The gorgeous contestants assume they're being judged solely on their outer appearance. They're only half right; outer beauty is one component the judges are looking for, but contestants are also being evaluated -- unbeknownst to them -- for their INNER beauty as well when they're put through scenarios and situations that require them to make moral decisions.
Each episode will showcase an outer beauty and an inner beauty challenge, during which contestants will be judged on everything from how well they perform in photo shoots to how well they respect their elders. The three judges will observe and critique the contestants' behavior and eliminate one person each week. Only after someone is eliminated will the truth about the show be revealed to him/her, as they watch a video montage of their behavior captured by a hidden camera during the shoot.
At the end of eight episodes, one winner will be declared, a person who is truly beautiful inside and out. That person will receive a cash prize and a spot in PEOPLE magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People issue.
Executive producers of True Beauty are Denise Cramsey (ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), Tyra Banks and Laura Armstrong for Bankable Productions, and Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg, Karey Burke and Rod Aissa for Katalyst Productions. The series is a production of Warner Horizon Television.
I've never seen so many conceited peeps in my life! Each of them believes they are drop dead gorgeous. Speaking of which, how come I'm not on this show?

Are to! or is that Are "too?" Resident grammar queen Amy would know.
i think it's Monday, 10 p.m., ABC. Check yer TV Guide. You know, the one that actually has Billy's face. Unlike mine. No Billy face.
Two beyotches...er...purdy people already got kicked off. They don't know they're bein' judged on the beauty inside as well as out and some of those peeps are fugly on the inside (and not so purdy on the outside either if ya asked me).
I will, of course, send you a reminder next week like i gotta do with Linda's QVC appearance on Thursday. Sheesh...do i gotta keep a calendar fer the whole world?

I'm guilty of really enjoying this new show,
too, Annette/Nettie. I think the "walk of
shame" (my own quote) is so PERFECT at
the end of the first two episodes.
Even the guy who wore jeans and a tee shirt
to the elimination room nailed it when he said
outer beauty means nothing if there's no
inner beauty (para-phrased).
Hugs,
Chase (Glad to know Wendy will be joining
us in watching.)
It looked a bit mean~spirited and too much like The Bachelor for me,
so I never 'sampled' it.
However, if you two both like it I may have to reconsider.
Maybe if it goes to hulu, or
even better Netflix I'll check it out.
I've seen the first two epi's (and dvr'd the third so can't comment on it), if there's anything "mean~spirited," these contestants are oblivious to it cuz I have never seen a bigger group of "it's all about me" peeps in my life. They wouldn't recognize it if someone was dissin' them if their lives depended on it cuz all they hear is "Me" "I" "Moi".
Ya kinda got the feel fer what kind of show this was gonna be in the first epi when everyone walked into their "rooms" and saw a life-sized painted picture of themselves hangin' over their respective beds. I bet they each kiss their own picture before they go to sleep at night.
Wait, now who's bein' "mean~spirited"!!!!
Got a fave yet, Chase?

Thanks KT and Nettie for your notes. I think it's
totally different from any of the other "reality"
shows, because so many of them think it's ONLY
about looking better than others. We get to see
lots of other things about them, and I reallyl
enjoy the twist when that stuff gets revealed.
Currently, I think Billy is my fav, because he
seems to work as a team builder. More and
more, CJ reveals that he has a big heart and
cares about others and not just for the "show"
of it.
Yikes, I sure I'm not sounding like a know
it all--just my observations.
Chase
