Paulina had the same allergic reaction to some pills that Mac did(not long before our show was yanked from us). That seemed to be enuff for Rachel so she let Paulina back into the family.
I know there was a def turnin' point when we all knew she was def a Cory, but I can't wrap my mind around it right this mintue...Figures!!

The day Paulina married Jake for the first time in 1991, Iris got Paulina alone in the library and showed Paulina that the locket Paulina had worn (presumably as her something old; I don't have the whole scene) had, instead of pictures in its secret compartment, two hair samples--one belonging to Mac, the other belonging to Maria Hernandez DeSilva, Paulina's mother. Paulina was upset that Iris had taken the hair samples out of the locket...until Iris, in an uncharacteristically unselfish moment, revealed that she took the hair samples, as well as one from Paulina, and had them analyzed in the hopes that it would prove once and for all that Paulina WASN'T a Cory...but it, in fact, proved once and for all that Paulina was what she said she was all along: the daughter of Maria Hernandez DeSilva and Mackenzie Cory. I say Iris was uncharacteristically unselfish because she didn't get snippy or angry or upset (that I saw) upon revealing that Paulina really IS a Cory.
And this also backs up the allergy theory. Chances are that Paulina's allergic reaction to the pills WAS hereditary, because Mac had the exact same reaction and he was her father.
