· Quote

Just to clarify, I'm not posting full episodes at Vimeo, but I am posting scenes like I do at YouTube, only all the scenes at Vimeo are from 1991 and coming from HULU. All of the scenes I post at Vimeo are available for free download, and as far as I know, viewing and downloading from Vimeo is NOT restricted to the United States only. So if you live in Canada or Australia, you should be able to see what I post at Vimeo, like you're able to see what I post at YouTube.

To download scenes from Vimeo, just scroll down to the bottom of the page of any given clip (or video, since I have some posted there already and will be adding the rest as soon as I can), and there's a link in the lower right corner that says "Download Windows Media Version." Click it, save it, and you're all set. Smile

Dean and Jenna, May 30, 1991

Jenna baby-sits Gregory Hudson out at John and Sharlene's, and Dean drops by to do some yard work. He tells Jenna that he finally got the song in his head out, and she asks to listen to it. So he plays it for her (recognize the tune?). Jenna thinks the song is beautiful. But when she says it reminds her of Matt, Dean says that Matt wouldn't know good music if he sat on it and abruptly takes off, leaving Jenna puzzled as to his behavior (which is perfectly normal for a young man in love, as Dean is with Jenna).

Ryan and Vicky, May 23, 1991--Part 1

Ryan and Vicky discuss moving in together, but are interrupted by Donna's arrival and the ringing phone. Ryan answers the phone while Vicky talks to Donna. Donna wants Vicky to accompany her to talk to Lucas, who she and Vicky think is Signet. Vicky doesn't think it's a good idea, but Donna is determined, so she goes off by herself to talk to Lucas. Vicky tells Ryan what she and Donna have been up to, and Ryan insists on going after Donna, telling Vicky he wants to blast both her and Donna at the same time for getting mixed up with the danger that is Carl Hutchins.

Felicia, Lucas, Jenna, Donna, Vicky, Ryan, May 23, 1991

Felicia and Lucas discuss plans for their wedding. Jenna asks Felicia and Lucas for permission to apply for her driver's learning permit. Donna arrives and trades barbs with Felicia about Felicia and Lucas's upcoming wedding ("I hope you're not having another one like the one at the racetrack. That was a little tacky." "Oh, but Donna, everybody knows that you LOVE tacky!") Lucas is not happy when Donna questions him about Carl. Felicia is not happy when Lucas leaves in a hurry after talking to Donna, and she and Donna have words. Ryan and Vicky arrive, and Ryan insists on talking to Vicky and Donna about their poking into Carl and Signet's connection and trying to discover Signet's true identity.

Ryan and Vicky, May 23, 1991--Part 2

Ryan realizes that Grant ran a background check on Lucas for Vicky and Donna and gave them the information they've been using to try to prove Lucas is Signet (which he's not). Ryan sternly lectures both Vicky and Donna about the danger they're putting themselves in because he doesn't want anything to happen to either of them. After Ryan leaves to confront Grant, Vicky tells Donna that the fireworks are just beginning.

Ryan Confronts Grant, May 23, 1991

After leaving Vicky and Donna at TOPS, Ryan confronts Grant about giving them information on Lucas and getting them further involved with Carl as a result. Ryan is suspicious of Grant's motives in giving Vicky and Donna the file in the first place. Grant in turn fires back at his little brother, accusing Ryan of trying to land in the obituary column himself in his relentless pursuit of Carl, and claiming that he (Grant), Donna and Vicky were only trying to help Ryan. Ryan warns Grant not to blow his investigation, and tells him that because he went behind Ryan's back, Vicky and Donna will have to pay for it.

http://vimeo.com/3370967

Lucas Confronts Carl, May 23, 1991

After talking with Donna at TOPS, Lucas confronts Carl about Lucas having worked for Carl years ago and never having known it. Lucas is angry at the thought of being associated with a known felon like Carl now that Lucas has finally cleaned up his act and is finally about to marry Felicia and adopt Jenna. Carl tells Lucas that the courts are light years behind Carl, but this does nothing to placate Lucas, who insists on no more surprises from Carl. After Lucas leaves, Carl ponders whether Lucas was sincere in his outrage, or just putting on a marvelous performance, since Carl suspects Lucas might be Signet.

Marley at the Cory Mansion, May 23, 1991

Marley tries on wedding dresses at the Cory Mansion. Rachel and Amanda argue about Amanda wanting to go away with her man of the moment, Mark the photographer, in between Marley modeling wedding dresses for them. Marley worries about not being able to have more children, but Rachel reassures her that she and Jamie love each other and that's all that matters, and if they want more children besides Steven, they can always adopt. Paulina arrives unexpectedly and tells Marley she'll be a beautiful bride. Marley leaves to change back into her street clothes, and Paulina and Rachel have words when Paulina tries to defend Amanda's position. Paulina tells Marley she hopes that she'll be invited to the wedding, and that Marley is lucky to be marrying into such a happy family, and reveals her own past in the foster care system before Marley leaves.

http://vimeo.com/3371430

Jamie, Marley, Rachel, Paulina, Matt, Jake, May 30, 1991

Paulina arrives at the Cory Mansion, followed closely by Matt, as Jamie and Marley are opening some of their engagement presents. Jamie offers Paulina one of the three juicers he and Marley have already opened. Marley tells Matt he's the only one who didn't give them a juicer (he gave them an espresso maker instead). Matt tells the family that by this time tomorrow, D&M might have a record contract. Jamie, Marley, and Matt go to check on the progress of the tent being put up on the south lawn for Jamie and Marley's engagement party. Paulina thanks Rachel for everything Rachel has done for her. Rachel joins Jamie, Marley, and Matt, and when the quartet return to the living room, Paulina is gone. Meanwhile, Jake looks into the living room while coiling some rope; he got himself hired as part of the crew putting up the tent for Jamie and Marley's engagement party!

Vicky and Donna, May 16, 1991

Vicky learns that Donna is planning to have Stacey disbarred and tries to talk her mother out of it. Donna will not be swayed, however, about going after Stacey, or about continuing to see Carl (which is something Vicky would also like to see Donna drop yesterday). Donna insists that she's in no danger from Carl because he's taken with her. When Donna hypothetically presents Vicky with the possibility of having Stacey Winthrop for a stepmother and spending the next 40 Thanksgivings with Stacey, Vicky asks Donna what Donna would like Vicky to do to help her break up Michael and Stacey.

Ryan Arrests Carl, May 16, 1991

Ryan arrests Carl in front of the lunch crowd at TOPS, which includes Jenna, Michael, and Stacey, for several parking tickets and moving violations. Carl is fingerprinted at the station house. Ryan suggests that Carl leave town without hurting anyone else, but Carl refuses to leave. Carl then discovers a photograph of Ryan and Vicky on Ryan's desk and realizes that he could use Vicky to get to Ryan.

http://vimeo.com/3386114

Vicky and Michael, May 16, 1991

Vicky goes to Michael's apartment to talk to him about Donna, but the two wind up arguing about Donna, about Stacey, and about Michael's treatment of Donna when he convinced her that he was leaving her for another woman. Michael refuses to take any of the blame for Donna's affair with Jake, but Vicky tells her father that he made Donna believe he didn't love her anymore and that there was no chance for them to get back together, and now he just wants to dump the blame for all of that in Donna's lap? Vicky's parting shot is to ask Michael who he will blame if something happens to Donna because of Carl. You GO, Vicky!

http://vimeo.com/3386453

Carl Asks Donna About Ryan, May 16, 1991

Donna thinks it's funny that Ryan arrested Carl for parking violations in the middle of TOPS, but Carl sees nothing amusing about it. He tells Donna that Ryan has a vendetta against him and goes out of his way to humiliate Carl. Then he asks Donna to tell him everything she knows about Detective Ryan Harrison.

http://vimeo.com/3386784

Ryan and Vicky; Vicky Talks to Donna, May 16, 1991

Vicky meets Ryan at TOPS and is not happy that he's baiting Carl. Ryan tells her that he's doing it on purpose because he doesn't want Carl to walk around like he owns the town. Vicky is not happy that Ryan is so eager to go head-to-head with Carl. Vicky then takes a phone call from Donna and tells Donna how badly things went when Vicky went to talk to Michael. After hanging up, Vicky frets to Ryan that Donna has lost her perspective and possibly her mind. Ryan jokes that he'll check the Lost and Found, but then earnestly promises Vicky he'll keep an eye on Donna. Vicky worries that Carl might do something to hurt Donna.

http://vimeo.com/3387358

Jamie and Marley, Felicia, Jake, Paulina, May 28, 1991

Jamie and Marley celebrate buying a house. Jamie assures Marley that whether or not they have any more children, they and Steven will be happy. At TOPS, Felicia and Paulina congratulate Jamie and Marley, and Felicia gives them a bottle of champagne to take with them after Jake shows up with Kathleen and refuses to leave. Paulina tries to get Jake to leave, but Jake tells her to go to hell, although he adds that she'd better leave him in her will or he'll haunt her. At the house, Jamie and Marley celebrate with champagne and candlelight...but Jake lurks in the shadows, looking in the window at them.

http://vimeo.com/3387651

Dean, Olivia, Lorna, Jenna, Matt, May 24, 1991

Olivia drops by D&M while Dean is working on the Lovesilk jingle, at loose ends since Sam is in Italy and Matt is on a date with Jenna. Lorna then comes by and offers Dean a songwriting job, adding that she'll have the papers drawn up in a few hours. Jenna and Matt come to D&M after taking Judy, the hooker who was trying to help Sharlene and John prove what a psychotic, pathological liar Taylor Benson was, to the ER when they found her overdosed on drugs at an abandoned amusement park (not shown). Matt is still skeptical of Lorna but agrees that if she's on the level, this could be the best thing for Dean's career. Dean asks Jenna about the woman she and Matt found. Jenna says she hopes that they saved her life. Matt adds that it's a long story, and he hopes everything turns out all right.

http://vimeo.com/3388414

Ryan and Carl, May 14, 1991

After being alerted by his partner Carlos that Carl is at the old soundstage, Ryan heads over there, and Ryan and Carl exchange words and warnings that show each man is determined to bring down the other.

http://vimeo.com/3428691

Vicky, Donna, Grant, Lucas, Felicia, May 14, 1991

After escaping from Lucas's suite, which they broke into trying to find information that would prove he was Signet, Vicky and Donna go to TOPS for a post-game breakdown of their break-in. Vicky comes up with a very plausible theory as to why Lucas could be Signet, but Donna says without proof it's still just a theory. Vicky then calls Grant and asks him to get the proof--in the form of a background check--while Donna distracts Lucas by talking to him. Grant agrees to get the information for Vicky on the condition that she not tell anyone it came from him, and that she stop playing amateur detective, and Vicky agrees. Meanwhile, Lucas suggests that Donna could be the informant since she was once married to Carl. Donna laughs that off, saying that she knew nothing about Carl's business practices. When Kathleen barges over and insinuates herself into the conversation, Felicia winds up having to referee, but Donna is unfazed, and she merely calls Kathleen out on bringing Carl back to Bay City. Donna also declares her sympathy and support for Cass and Frankie and what they are now going through because of Kathleen before she leaves.

http://vimeo.com/3428786

Vicky, Ryan, and Donna, May 14, 1991

Vicky gets home from TOPS and tries not to panic when Ryan isn't there. Ryan comes in just a minute after Vicky, and she wonders where he's been. Ryan thinks it's strange that Vicky was hanging out with Donna past midnight when Ryan was waiting for her at home. Vicky replies that she and Donna had a lot to catch up on, and Ryan wasn't waiting for her at home because he just got there himself. Ryan asks if he's going to get the third degree every time he steps out of the house. Vicky says no, she's just sick of being scared about him. Ryan tells her maybe she should start trusting him, but they're even because he doesn't trust Vicky either, but that they shouldn't let that ruin their evening. They're interrupted by Donna, who tells Vicky that she needs to see a loving face for just five minutes, and that Kathleen all but attacked Donna after Vicky left TOPS. Ryan agrees to leave mother and daughter alone, and after he heads to the bedroom, Donna tells Vicky that Lucas was behaving very suspiciously, suggesting that Donna was the one who informed on Carl, and she thought Vicky would want to know that. Vicky worries that Carl might think it was Donna who informed on him, but Donna assures Vicky that Carl doesn't think it's her, and that Lucas was trying to throw Donna off. Vicky tells Donna that Grant agreed to do the background check on Lucas. Donna insists that Vicky tell Grant that Donna is involved because this is too dangerous for anyone to do alone. Vicky replies that she knows that; she just wishes to hell Ryan knew that.

Ryan Questions Jamie and Iris About John and Taylor, May 29, 1991

After Taylor Benson's dive off the pier at the old amusement park and presumed death, Ryan investigated the case. In these scenes, he's at Bay City General Hospital, where he questions first Jamie and then Iris about the relationship between John and Taylor and the likelihood that John killed Taylor. Jamie staunchly defends John, insisting that there's no way John killed Taylor...but Iris defends Taylor and paints a very different picture of John than the one Jamie presented. Jamie believes John and Sharlene deserve some happiness; Iris is worried about the scandal this could cause the hospital. After Iris leaves, John arrives and asks Ryan if there's any news.

http://vimeo.com/3430014

Ryan Questions John, May 29, 1991

Ryan tells John that they're still dragging the lake for Taylor's body, then asks John to recount what happened when Taylor was shot and went into the water. John tells Ryan everything that happened (which is shown in flashback form). Ryan plays one of the audio tapes Taylor left behind for John and asks if John and Taylor had an affair, which is what Taylor is saying on those tapes. John vehemently denies having an affair with Taylor and says that Judy the hooker was just as much Taylor's victim as John and Sharlene were, and that Judy will be able to back up their story with her statement. Unfortunately, Ryan informs John that Judy will never be able to make that statement, because the phone call that Ryan takes before John starts talking about Judy is to inform Ryan that Judy died ten minutes ago.

http://vimeo.com/3430413

Frankie, Dean and Jenna, June 3, 1991

Dean confesses to Frankie that he's in love, but the girl has no idea how he feels. Then Jenna arrives to pick Dean up to go swimming at the Cory Mansion. Dean introduces Jenna and Frankie. Frankie has to make a quick exit because of morning sickness, since this was after she had learned she was pregnant but before she had the miscarriage, and after Frankie hurries off, Dean asks Jenna if she can get to the Corys' by herself because he has something to take care of.

http://vimeo.com/3431019

Dean and Jenna, June 3, 1991

Dean arrives at the Cory Mansion and has an unexpected reaction when Jenna shows him her bathing suit and asks what he thinks of it on a scale of 1 to 10. When Jenna sees Matt coming up the driveway in his Jeep, she goes to meet him after telling Dean that he can make the phone call he needs to make in the poolhouse because there's a phone in there.

Felicia and Lucas, Donna and Carl, May 29, 1991

Felicia and Lucas discuss wedding plans again. Carl arrives and greets them in his inimitable manner, which angers Felicia. Donna arrives moments later looking for Michael. Lucas tells her Michael isn't there and is surprised to learn that Donna is avoiding Michael, since that hasn't been the case so far. Donna tells Lucas that divorce is very painful, then heads out to the terrace, where Carl has just concluded a phone call ordering someone to get him all of the information on Lucas's association with Charter Elm, the company that Carl once owned. Donna tells Carl that the kiss they shared the night before was meaningless. Carl disagrees and starts reminiscing about their days of passion in the stables. When Donna says she doesn't do those kinds of things anymore, Carl takes great delight in needling Donna about her affair with Jake, laughing at the fact that she slept with Jake and asking her how Jake was. But Donna is the one who exits laughing when Carl tells her that he will save himself for her because she will come back to him--even though Donna said she would rather throw herself off the terrace than give herself to Carl again--because, to quote Carl, "Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder."

http://vimeo.com/3431411

Iris and Carl; Lucas Quits Working for Carl; Lucas and Felicia, May 29, 1991

Carl comes in off the terrace and sees Iris sitting alone at a table dining, so he joins her, even though she doesn't want him to do so. She asks if he really thinks she could share a meal with him, because he tried to kill her father. "But I didn't," Carl says.

"Let's hope the next target is as fortunate," Iris replies.

"Does anyone ever forget ANYTHING in this town?" Carl asks.

Iris finally tells Carl that since he hasn't left after she asked him to nicely several times, she'll get Lucas to throw him out. When he mocks Lucas, Iris tells Carl not to underestimate Lucas. Carl brings up Lucas apprehending Marius to Iris and how fascinating it is that they sent a hood to trap a hood. Iris doesn't want to dwell on it because right after that, Lucas went back to Felicia. Iris says that is when she learned who Lucas really was. Lucas interrupts them then to tell Carl that he needs to talk to Carl immediately.

Out on the terrace, Lucas quits his job with Carl effective immediately. He tells Carl to find himself a new image maker, because the raw material just isn't there, and Lucas can't work with Carl. Carl says that according to the record, Lucas has a difficult time working with anybody over a length of time and asks why that is; is Lucas' loyalty elsewhere? Lucas replies that he doesn't owe Carl an explanation. They had an agreement, and Carl couldn't live up to it. Carl says it's curious that Lucas moves around so much. Lucas asks what Carl is getting at. Carl tells Lucas that he and Iris were just reminiscing about Marius. When Lucas says that Marius has nothing to do with Carl, Carl replies that perhaps it does. Perhaps it speaks volumes about Lucas's character. And perhaps Carl should be grateful that Lucas didn't know he was in Carl's employ at Charter Elm; otherwise Lucas might have been tempted to betray Carl. When Lucas says he doesn't know what Carl is talking about, Carl replies that he thinks Lucas does, but he accepts Lucas's resignation immediately. Lucas says that's good, because that means he and Carl don't have to talk again. Carl remains on the terrace pondering Lucas's actions after Lucas goes back inside.

Back inside TOPS, Felicia tells Lucas how relieved she is that he quit working for Carl, thanks Lucas, and kisses him. Lucas replies that Carl took it rather well. Felicia says it was the right thing to do. They're interrupted when the alarm bell on the elevator goes off; the elevator is stuck again.

Marley, Paulina, and Iris at TOPS, May 15, 1991

Paulina, acting on orders from Jake, invited Marley to meet her at TOPS to talk, and that's what they do in these scenes. Paulina tells Marley she's glad Marley could make it. Marley tells Paulina straight out that she doesn't like Paulina, and she came there to tell Paulina that she knows Paulina is a liar. Marley asked Paulina if there was anything going on between her and Jake, and she denied it; does Paulina think Marley didn't have a right to know that Paulina and Jake were having an affair? Paulina tells Marley that Jake told Paulina that Jake and Marley's relationship was over, that Marley was the one who wanted to work it out and Jake was the one who didn't feel the same way, and Jake was waiting for the right time to tell Marley. When Marley says that Paulina doesn't strike her as the gullible type, Paulina says that she wanted to believe Jake, and that Jake used both her and Marley. Marley says she used to want to believe Jake, and agrees with Paulina that Jake can be very persuasive and admits that yes, maybe Paulina could have been taken in by Jake and not realized how much she was hurting Marley. But, Marley wants to know, if Jake treated Paulina so horribly, why does Paulina still spend so much time with him? Paulina replies that she doesn't want to abandon Jake because he's lost everything. Marley is amazed and appalled at the same time as she asks Paulina if Paulina actually feels sympathy for Jake. Paulina says yes, she does. Marley replies that Paulina is either too good to be true, lying to herself, or lying to Marley. Paulina says that when she helps Jake, it's on her terms. Marley warns Paulina that she's likely setting herself up for another fall. Paulina counters that Marley should really talk to Jake because it might help Marley resolves things. Marley insists she doesn't want to see Jake. Paulina apologizes for suggesting it and tells Marley she understands. Iris comes to their booth then and congratulates Marley on her engagement to Jamie and pointedly says that everyone is delighted to have Marley in the family (a dig at Paulina, whom Iris still despises). Paulina says she has to get going but is glad she and Marley had a chance to talk. Marley says she is too; it was interesting. Paulina says if there's anything she do to help, Marley is to let her know. Iris says there's something Paulina can do: Paulina can tell Iris what the hell Paulina is up to now. Paulina leaves without answering Iris.

http://vimeo.com/3431814

Ryan and Vicky,  May 30, 1991

Vicky returns home to find the living room overflowing with boxes of Ryan's things because they have agreed to move in together. Ryan comes in a minute later and asks if his stuff got there okay. Vicky replies that she wouldn't want it to get bruised, then tells Ryan that she knows people their age come with baggage, but where is she supposed to put all of this stuff? Ryan asks Vicky if they can forget the interior decorator stuff for a while because he wants to talk to her about John and Taylor Benson. "My Uncle John and anyone but Sharlene? Are you nuts?" Vicky asks. "My Uncle John is so in love with Sharlene, the thought of him cheating on her is ridiculous." Ryan replies that he's known a lot of loving husbands who had something going on the side. Vicky asks Ryan where he got this idea, and he tells her he heard it at the hospital. Vicky can't believe that Ryan would believe the hospital rumor mill. Ryan says it's his job to check up on these things. Vicky replies that there are guys who cheat on their wives, and guys who don't, and John is one of the guys who don't. Ryan asks if John has ever been involved with another woman. "Not while he's been married," Vicky answers. Ryan asks what Vicky isn't telling him. Vicky hems and haws but finally tells him that a long time ago, John and Donna... Ryan asks if they had an affair, and Vicky replies that they didn't do anything. Nothing happened between John and Donna...but it did break up one of Michael and Donna's marriages. Ryan has no trouble believing that. Vicky says that it doesn't matter if John and Donna were splashing around in a tub full of chocolate mousse; that has nothing to do with Taylor Benson. Ryan then asks Vicky if John had a history of violence. Vicky resents the third degree, but defends John, saying that John is like Michael--he's not mean, but he sticks up for what he believes in. Ryan then asks if it's possible John has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder because he was in Vietnam. Vicky informs Ryan that if John was going through anything about the war, he took it out on himself by drinking too much and telling himself he was garbage. That's sad, but she hasn't heard anywhere that it's a crime. Ryan insists that he's not judging John, and Vicky is glad to hear that, because John has really built a life for himself with Sharlene and his career as a doctor at the hospital. Ryan tells Vicky about the intern John shoved for badmouthing Sharlene. Vicky says she'll start shoving Ryan if he keeps this up. Ryan apologizes and suggests they forget about John and figure out where some of Ryan's worldly possessions go. Vicky wants to get rid of Ryan's ugly green chair. But Old Betsy, Ryan's chair, has been with him forever. Vicky says the last time she tried to sit in Old Betsy, Old Betsy tried to swallow her whole. Ryan says there's a technique and proceeds to recline the chair and pull Vicky into his lap for a makeout session.

John and Sharlene, May 31, 1991

John and Sharlene try to absorb the news of Judy's death. John tells Sharlene about the audio cassettes Ryan found in Taylor's office, on which Taylor claims to have had an affair with John. Sharlene tells John that if something happened between him and Taylor while Sharlene was away the previous fall, she will understand, and nothing will change the way Sharlene feels about John. John gives Sharlene his word that nothing ever happened between him and Taylor, adding that he loves Sharlene and he always knew that Sharlene would come back to him and he told Taylor that too, which may be why he was so blind to Taylor's true motives. Sharlene tells John that Taylor can't come between them no matter what happens, and Taylor can't destroy what they have. John says he won't let that happen. Sharlene says Taylor obviously made everything up because that's the way she wanted it to be. John says when Ryan played the tape for him on which Taylor detailed the affair she and John never had, John felt like Taylor's fingers were around his throat choking him.

http://vimeo.com/3448056

Ryan and Grant, May 31, 1991

Ryan and Grant go to Grant's office. Grant calls for Paulina when they arrive, but she isn't there. Grant gives Ryan the report that Grant had the Agency in Washington put together on Taylor Benson through last fall. Ryan asks Grant why he did this, and Grant replies he did it because he didn't like or trust Taylor. Ryan asks if the report proved Grant right about Taylor, and Grant replies that it didn't prove him wrong, and while there was nothing solid in there, there was enough for Grant to warn Sharlene and John, which Grant did. Ryan realizes that John knew that Grant was suspicious of Taylor the entire time. Grant asks if John is charged with something, and Ryan says John hasn't been charged yet, but something new has come up about the two of them (meaning John and Taylor). Grant asks what it is, and Ryan replies that he can't tell Grant about that kind of stuff. Grant retorts that he wasn't supposed to give Ryan that kind of report. But then Grant finds a note from Paulina that shifts his focus elsewhere, because Paulina has left Grant.

Marley and Iris, and Jake, May 31, 1991

It's the night before Marley and Jamie's engagement party, and Marley is going over arrangements with the crew that's putting up the tent. Iris arrives while Marley is going over notes on a clipboard and tells Marley that somebody slipped up because Iris never received her invitation. Marley replies that's because Iris wasn't invited. Iris thinks it was Rachel who didn't invite her, but Marley tells her that she and Jamie made up the guest list, and they invited people who would be happy for them, and it never occurred to them that Iris would want to come. Iris tells Marley that she thinks the world of Marley and Jamie. Marley reminds Iris of Iris's scene at the dinner honoring Jamie at the country club last fall, when she attacked both Jamie and Marley publicly and accused Marley of shooting Jake. Iris reminds Marley that she tried to warn Marley against trusting Jake. Marley replies that she never did find out what Iris had going on with Jake last year, but she knows there was something, and that she might have listened to Iris if Iris had been more specific. Iris says that she wished a hundred times that Marley had listened to her warning, because then maybe Marley would have spared the violence and suffering she went through. Marley remarks that it sounds like Iris really means that, and it would mean more to Marley if Iris had said that before she wanted something. Iris admits that Marley is right, and that Mac would be ashamed of Iris's behavior, but Iris is always so consumed with her own problems and pain and life that she ignores everyone else's, especially the people she loves. Iris says that she hopes it's a lovely party and she wishes Marley and Jamie every happiness. Just as Iris is about to go inside to discuss some Brava business with Amanda, Marley relents and says that she'll put Iris's name on the list of Iris really wants to come to the party. Iris thanks Marley. And all this time, Jake has been working with the crew putting up the tent because he got himself hired as day labor by the tent company. He picks up and reads Marley's clipboard when she puts it down on the table to go and check on something else.

Iris, Amanda, and Jamie, May 31, 1991

Amanda and Iris trade barbs over Amanda's love life past and present, and her desire to go out of the country on a trip with her man of the moment Mark, a former photographer for Cory Enterprises who is now freelancing so Amanda will date him. Jamie comes in with an urgent message from the hospital for Iris. When Iris leaves in a hurry, Jamie wonders what's up, but Amanda tells Jamie to forget Iris and think Marley and think engagement party and spectacular wedding. Amanda shares in Jamie's happiness and tells him to go with it and the siblings hug.

http://vimeo.com/3448407

Ryan, John and Sharlene, and Iris, May 31, 1991

Ryan goes to the farm to talk to John again and winds up angering John when he produces photographs from the medical conference that John and Taylor both attended that were found in Taylor's house. Ryan also reports that he talked to staff at the hotel where John and Taylor stayed during the conference and learned that they had adjoining rooms, and that one of the maids had to clean up Taylor's room because it had been trashed so badly that it looked like a tornado went through. John loses his temper and starts yelling at Ryan when Ryan pushes him about the trashed room and the adjoining hotel rooms and tells him that Taylor was the one who arranged for the adjoining rooms, and that John did reject Taylor's advances but did NOT confront her in an angry, violent way that led to the trashing of any hotel room. John accuses Ryan of trying to badger John until John says Ryan is right because Ryan has already decided what happened. Sharlene steps in then and halts things, offering to fix Ryan a cup of coffee and telling John to get a hold of himself. While Sharlene is getting Ryan's coffee, Iris shows up at the farm and asks John if he realizes he's destroying the reputation of the hospital.

http://vimeo.com/3448672

Marley, Jake, and Jamie, May 31, 1991

Jake recalls his two recent run-ins with Marley in which she let him know in no uncertain terms that he would never have her again and that she plans to enjoy watching Jake on the sidelines forced to see her living a happy life without him, then tries to get himself hired as a bartender at Marley and Jamie's engagement party. That's when Marley returns to the pool area and asks Jake what the hell he's doing there. Jake lies that he has been ducking Marley all day and only took the job because he's drowning in debts. (Okay, that part is true, but he was not ducking Marley at all; he was waiting for the right moment to get in her face.) Marley doesn't buy into Jake's act, and lets him have it in a calm, cool, collected manner by simply telling him what the engagement party will be like: how beautiful her dress is, where she and Jamie will stand to greet their guests, where Michael will stand when he toasts them. Jake wonders how Marley can be so cruel. Marley reminds Jake that she told him her best vengeance was going to be living a happy life without him and knowing he was watching on the sidelines...and now that it's happening, she only hopes that it's hurting Jake. Then Jamie arrives and tells Jake to leave.

Marley, Jamie, and Jake, May 31, 1991--Part 2

Marley tells Jamie he doesn't have to defend her, and she was just sharing their happy plans with Jake. When Jake says he didn't know Marley could be so cruel, Marley replies that we learn from experience. Jamie adds that he doesn't want to catch Jake there ever again. The head of the tent company comes back then, and Jamie tells him that he has a major problem with Jake, so the tent guy escorts Jake off the premises. After Jake is gone, Marley tells Jamie that she stood up to Jake. He was trying to pull a number on her, and she called him on it and then beat him at his own game. Jamie tells Marley she's an incredible woman. Marley says she used to think Jake only gave her misery and pain, but she should thank Jake for showing her her own strength. Marley tells Jamie that Jake can't hurt them or harm them or stop from their plans, and she and Jamie joyfully embrace.

Jake demands his full day's pay, and the head of the tent company agrees to get if for him on the condition that he never show his mug at the Cory Mansion again.

Jake hides when Jamie and Marley return to look at the final preparations. Jamie asks if Jake's visit finally got to Marley, and she says no, she was thinking about Donna. She threw away Donna's latest letter today. Jamie suggests that maybe Marley should read one, but Marley says she can't. She's not trying to be cruel, but it's just too much for her to have Donna around. Jamie assures Marley that he's with her however she chooses to handle this. Marley says Donna isn't stopping with the letters and phone calls and presents every day, and she doesn't want to think about what would happen if Donna tries to crash their engagement party. Jamie presents Marley with a worst-case scenario: Donna does crash the engagement party. What would Marley do? When Marley says she would walk out if Donna crashed, Jamie vows to make sure Donna is far, far away so she doesn't ruin their night...which gives Jake another idea of how to get back at Jamie and Marley.

Iris, John and Sharlene, and Ryan, May 31, 1991--Part 2

The hits just keep on coming for John and Sharlene when Iris tells John that she has a letter from Taylor Benson's mother that includes a recent letter Taylor sent to her mother that links Taylor and John even more closely together. Iris offers to suppress the letter if John will resign from the hospital immediately, but John angrily refuses to be pressured. The ensuing argument brings Sharlene and Ryan in from the kitchen, and Iris is forced to share the contents of the letter when Ryan says that she is subject to a warrant just like anybody else and asks if he has to go and get one. Iris reads Taylor's letter to her mother aloud, a letter in which Taylor claims that she was pregnant by John and he made her get an abortion.
