I finally completed my Mitch & Felicia video but before you get too excited, the audio was yanked before it even hit the air!! WMG (Warner Music Group) must have software imbeded in YT that yanks the audio as soon as it detects one of "its" songs and the song I used was "I Believe in You" by Bette Midler, who must be one of Warner's artists. YT does give the option of choosing one of "their authorized songs" via "Audio Swap" but I didn't recognize one artist or song from the list so chose not to do that (and actually listened to a few and they are A.W.F.U.L.)
Though I understand the song copyright, I'm a little miffed that the took ALL the audio as the beginning was not a copyrighted song but Mitch & Felicia audio and the ending is the montage of their racetrack nuptials. As for the reason that WMG is yanking all their songs, please see my separate post under the *OT* thread. Seems YT & WMG are in a licensing spat and up until December, YTubers had WMG's blessing to use their songs. Plus, I BOUGHT the CD of the song I was using so it's not like WMG didn't get any $$$ from me.
Cuz there are a couple of you (LOL) that like to see Mitch & Felicia as a couple, I will leave the vid up a few days so you can see how fun it was supposed to be (plus, it's always nice to see our AW peeps). After that, I will yank the vid and I guess enjoy it on the home 'puter. Bummer, me liked it a lot and wanted to share.

The only one of my videos they offered me "Audio Swap" on was my first AW Christmas vid, you know, the 1989-90 one? AWFUL sums up their songs. And you all know me and music: *I* didn't recognize any of the artists or songs they offered. And it really made me angry, because every video I make starts with the song! I can't just swap them out; the video wouldn't mean the same thing if I did!
I saw the vid, Nettie, and did you all know that Felicia and Mitch dressed as the parrot and pirate was NOT a form of foreplay? I asked. Nettie was disappointed to have to tell me it was just Halloween.
It's a FABULOUS video. WMG is now on the list with SoapNOT and AOL--you know, the list of deprivers and screwers-over when it comes to things related to AW.
And if they yank "Everything" and "Far Away" (especially "Far Away"; knowing I'd get to make that video is all that got me through the time between The Case of the Stolen Heart and Frankie finding the windchimes on John and Sharlene's back porch), you'll hear me crying wherever you are.
The video is incredible, though. I highly recommend it.
I was purdy disappointed when the audio was yanked cuz as you know, it takes a bit to *tweak* the lyrics to the scenes. I wouldn't have done all dat if Idda known.
BUT I have been puttin' up some scene-only vids in a bit of a "Take Dat" defiance ~ so far there's a little Mitch/Felicia (the yellow blanket bed scene) and Jake & Marley's 1986 wedding (that will be in 3 parts ~ er...and Cass is seen BRIEFLY with Wifey #1). Workin' on a little Wally too.
Hopefully WMG will get da stick outta their butt or another source will become available for us *arteeests* to show their work!
BTW ~ I have been contemplating the following "Audio Swap" choices to replace the Bette Midler song I originally *recorded* with this vid. Perhaps you guys can help me make a decision. Should I go with ~
"Dome Hat" by Chaoketu and Qiqigama
"F*ck Me" by Cottonhead (yes, I was offered the CORRECT spelling)
"The Condom Song" by Trashcan Joe
"Starve the Dead" by Throttlehead
These are but a small sampling of the song "swaps" offered by YT's Audio Swap. Some of them have far more risque titles. Nice fer our kids who do most of the music video making, eh?
