Hey, everybody!
I've had computer problems, storms, and been under the weather so far this week, but here, finally, are the links to this week's clips. Thanks to Janie for the 1993 scenes.
Amy
Ryan and Vicky at the Train Trestle the Night Before Vicky Marries Grant
Vicky blames her marrying Grant all on Ryan. She claims that Ryan couldn't forgive her for sleeping with Grant, and she felt like she wasn't good enough for Ryan (well, Vicky, you WERE the one who slept with his brother), and she got tired of waiting and tired of trying with Ryan, and that Grant is a good, kind, loving man who loves her for her flaws (like that's not going to change once she's the wife of a Senator? Please! How naive WAS Vicky?). Ryan tells Vicky that she didn't try with him for very long before jumping back to Grant, and if she's marrying Grant because she's mad at Ryan, then she can't go through with it. This only angers Vicky more, and she tells Ryan goodbye and that for the rest of their lives, Ryan will know that he was right and Vicky was wrong, and then she leaves, and poor Ryan is almost in tears. This is just me, but I have absolutely no sympathy for Vicky, and all the sympathy in the world for Ryan, who truly deserved so much better than this. Ryan leaves shortly after Vicky does. But who's the guy in sunglasses and a beret that was apparently spying on Ryan and Vicky? (Seriously, does anybody know?) Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Dean and Jenna--We Have to Start Dealing With This
At Sassy's, Jenna tells Dean she was just having a cup of decaf coffee. Dean reminds her again that they have an appointment. Jenna says they'll probably have to just hurry up and wait at the clinic anyway, but Dean persists, telling Jenna that the sooner they find out whether the home pregnancy test was accurate or not, the better. Jenna says that's fine, but does that mean the rest of her life has to stop because of one mistake? Dean can't believe Jenna just said that. "I love you, and you're carrying our baby," Dean says. "Why are you acting like you don't care?" Jenna apologizes and says that she didn't mean she and Dean are a mistake; she loves Dean more than anything. She just doesn't know how to deal with the pregnancy. Dean replies that they have to start dealing with it and stop pretending like nothing's happening. Jenna says that she feels like everything's mixed up right now. Dean says that he doesn't know a lot about this stuff, but he knows that babies come from love; that's true in their case, and that love will see them through whatever they find out at the clinic, whatever it could be. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Dean and Jenna at the Clinic
Dean and Jenna arrive at the clinic for their appointment. Dean registered himself and Jenna under a fake name, Mr. and Mrs. Saunders, so that Jenna would get the privacy she deserves, which Dean says she couldn't get at Bay City General. Dean checks in with the receptionist, and he and Jenna sit down. Jenna asks why the fake names, and Dean replies it's because they haven't told Felicia yet. They get into a debate about grammar because they're both so nervous, especially Jenna, and then they talk about the show Jenna did on teenage pregnancy, and how they can handle this better than a lot of people because they aren't 14 and 15 like some of the guests on Jenna's show. Their nerves aren't calmed any, though, when the doctor calls them, because the doctor turns out to be John Hudson! None of the three were expecting that. John explains that he's pinch hitting for the doctor Dean and Jenna were going to see because that doctor had an emergency. John offers to reschedule them with the original doctor, but adds that he would be happy to see "Mr. and Mrs. Sanders" and that he has no reason to discuss this with anyone else. It's up to whoever is the patient. Dean and Jenna exchange a look, then Jenna steps forward and says hi to John. Dean tells John that Jenna took a home pregnancy test that came up positive, and they want to double check everything and make sure it was right, and if there's anything else they should know. John tells Jenna it's up to her, and if she wants, they can go ahead now and he'll have the results in less than an hour. Dean wants to go with Jenna for moral support, but John doesn't allow Dean in the examining room. Jenna tells Dean she'll be fine and heads to the examining room with John while Dean sits down to wait in the waiting room. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

John Confirms That Jenna Is Pregnant
While Dean and Jenna wait for the results of Jenna's blood test, they talk about the stone cottage on John and Sharlene's property where they used to go to be alone before they moved in together. Dean found pictures of a cottage in England in a magazine while he was waiting for Jenna and he shows them to her, which prompts the conversation about their cottage. Jenna says things were a lot simpler back then. Dean says they still had problems, like with Rick Madison. When Jenna says that was just temporary, Dean says they never wanted anything to be temporary between them, and he thought that all they'd do for the rest of their lives was laugh and make love. Jenna says she doesn't see why they can't do that, and Dean agrees. They kiss. John then returns to talk to them and confirms that the home test was right on the money, and Jenna is pregnant. Jenna doesn't know where to start. John says there are several ways to respond to the situation. He does not recommend any particular choice, but he does lay them out for Jenna and Dean. The one thing that is not optional is that Jenna must take care of herself pre-natally for her health and the health of the baby. Outside of that, there are several options: Jenna can carry the baby to term and raise him or her; carry the baby to term and give him or her up for adoption; or terminate the pregnancy. Dean tells John that he'll be there whatever happens. John says it's important for Jenna to know that, and he wouldn't expect any less of Dean. But, he adds, since Jenna is the one who is pregnant, the decision is truly hers, although Dean should absolutely have some input. John tells Jenna that they have time before they have to preclude any of the options, so there's no rush, and then he asks if Jenna has any questions. Jenna says no, she's okay for now. John then asks if Dean has any questions. Dean says he doesn't think he even knows enough to know what to ask. John tells Jenna that she'll have to set up a schedule of pre-natal visits with her OB/GYN. Dean asks if Jenna has a gynecologist, and Jenna says she does. John suggests that Jenna and Dean take some time, consider everything, talk to each other, and talk to Felicia when they're ready. John believes that Jenna and Dean love each other enough to make the right decision. They thank John, and he returns to work. After John leaves them alone together, Dean says it's funny how things work out; John was the last person Dean wanted to go to with this, but he was great. Jenna is distracted because the magnitude of the situation has obviously fully hit her, and she tells Dean that for the first time since this all started, she's scared. Dean says he wishes he had something witty and wise to say, but he doesn't. So he just holds her. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Felicia, Frankie and Cass 1993--This Is Your Time
Cass realizes that Felicia thinks that Christy lied about her wedding, and wonders why Christy would have lied about that. Before they can discuss it further, Frankie returns with the guest list and asks Felicia if TOPS can handle this many people on such short notice. Felicia assures Frankie that it's a fait accompli. Frankie is still worried about how Christy will handle the wedding and Felicia's part in the arrangements after Christy's big blowup, and considering the way she feels about weddings, Frankie still promised Christy that she could make the wedding arrangements. Felicia says that for the record, she didn't intend to get involved in Cass and Frankie's wedding again until they said they couldn't find a place, and then the solution was obvious. Frankie says it's not as if Christy will behave like a spoiled little brat throwing a temper tantrum because people aren't doing what she wants them to do. Cass backs Frankie up and says that Frankie is just worried about Christy's reaction. Felicia understands that and reminds the couple that Douglas told Felicia that weddings are loaded for Christy. Felicia disagrees with Frankie about Christy dwelling on the sadness so much now and letting that affect her so much, because she and Douglas are still together, and, Felicia says, Christy will have plenty of time for the sadness and all the rest of it after Douglas is gone. And if anyone should know that, it's Felicia. Felicia adds that Cass and Frankie don't have any time to get this wedding off the ground, which Cass agrees is true. Cass and Frankie need the place, the food, the drinks, the minister, the flowers, and the music, and Felicia says that TOPS can certainly furnish the first three of those in one fell swoop. Cass suggests that Christy can do the rest, then. Frankie wants to be careful about how they tell Christy. Felicia says that Christy is not made of glass, and Felicia doesn't think it helps to reinforce Christy's weaknesses. It doesn't help people when their friends walk on eggshells around them acting like they have certain needs because that's what their friends think. Felicia says that Cass and Frankie have been doing that to her too, because they didn't come to her about having their wedding at TOPS since they feared she couldn't handle it. Frankie asks what's wrong with not wanting to hurt your friends. Felicia says there's nothing wrong with that, and agrees that Christy should be involved. But, she tells Frankie, "Don't waste your time making nice on Christy's feelings, or mine for that matter. This is your life, Frankie, this is your time, and your friends need to respect what YOU want, not what they think you want." Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Douglas Insists on Meeting Christy's New Man
Douglas insists on meeting Christy's new man, but she refuses to introduce them. Douglas remarks that Christy has never told him "no" before and asks if this man has changed her already. Christy tells Douglas she wants to talk about something, and he needs to relax and let his medication work. Douglas takes his medication, then tells Christy that they both know the time will come when the medication will be less and less effective and finally won't work at all. Christy counters that they don't know when that will be, and they have every reason to believe that it will be a long time before it does happen. Douglas replies that maybe that's part of the problem: lack of scheduled departure date. He tells Christy that she can make it easier for him and give him some peace of mind by letting her meet this man. Douglas worries about what Christy will do when he is gone, which is why he made the request that she find someone else. How will Christy take care of herself, Douglas asks. Who will nurture her, tend her emotional garden? (Anybody else besides me finding this creepy?) Christy tells Douglas that he has made her strong and she'll be fine. (That sound you heard was me choking at that.) The only painful thing, Christy says, will be living without him because she loves him. Douglas tells Christy that he loves her too, and that he will continue to love her from wherever, but the fact remains that she will be a well-to-do, young, beautiful widow, and with her emotional history, the man who is lucky enough to win her (choking again here) will have to be very strong and have her best interests at heart. That's why Douglas needs to know him. Christy tells Douglas it's not feasible right now because the man is out of town; he travels a lot. Douglas asks how Christy met the man. Christy tells Douglas they need to discuss this later because she has to go over and help Frankie with some wedding arrangements. Douglas agrees, but emphasizes that they will discuss this later and he hopes that Christy won't be too late. Christy settles Douglas with a book and a lap robe and leaves, and he does not look very happy. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Cass and Frankie 1993--Telling Christy the Wedding Will Be at TOPS
Christy returns to Cass and Frankie's house all smiles and good cheer. She seems surprised to see Felicia there as well when she notices Felicia after talking about caterers and flowers. Frankie tells Christy they really have to fill her in on a few things. Cass adds that they've been kicking around a few ideas. Christy is not enthused when the consensus is that Cass and Frankie's wedding cake will be a carrot cake. Frankie hems and haws a bit, but after a nudge from Cass, she tells Christy that the wedding will be at TOPS. Frankie and Cass are both concerned about Christy's reaction, and neither Cass and Frankie nor Felicia want to hurt Christy's feelings again either. Christy says TOPS is gorgeous and how could it not be okay? Christy says her primary goal is to see Cass and Frankie happily married, and who cares what some crystal ball says? They're going to be fine. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Cass and Frankie 1993--Ryan Arrives; Frankie Demands to Know What the Fortune Teller Told Christy
Frankie asks what Christy meant when she talked about a crystal ball before; was that the fortune teller that Christy and Cass saw? Christy tries to brush it off and says she could cut out her own tongue, but Frankie tells Christy to talk to her. They're interrupted by a knock on the door; it's Ryan, who greets Cass and Frankie and Felicia and Christy when he comes inside. Frankie asks Ryan how he's doing. Ryan says he's fine, but his family is a little afflicted with wedding fever, so he thought he'd come to Cass and Frankie's for a break. Frankie hugs Ryan and says she bets he needed a break. Cass says that they're a little afflicted with wedding fever too. Ryan replies that he's sure Cass and Frankie's isn't as complicated as the Harrison family's, since the Harrisons have the press, the Secret Service and a British nuptician who handled Charles and Di's wedding. Felicia says that doesn't sound very promising. Ryan says that he's sure that, nuptician or not, Grant and Vicky will live happily ever after. Frankie and Cass give Ryan their support. Frankie says there's a lot more to do around here, and Cass adds that his and Frankie's nuptials have no significance for anyone but them. "And your friends, of course," Felicia adds.
"Well, I certainly hope that I'm one of those," Ryan says. "So what can I do? Bag some birdseed, or what?"
"I don't care what role you play as long as you don't do what you did the first time around," Cass tells Ryan.
"Yeah, really," Frankie agrees.
Cass tells Christy not to say the word when she starts to talk about Ryan kidnapping Frankie.
"Since I was the one who was responsible for the first time being messed up, I will personally guarantee that this one will go off without a hitch," Ryan pledges.
Frankie tells Ryan that maybe he should talk to Christy because she seems to have some other information, and Frankie then firmly tells Christy that she wants to know what the fortune teller said. Cass asks if the fortune teller said something about him and Frankie when he went to get the car, because he didn't hear the kid say anything when he was there. Frankie insists that Christy give her the straight story, and then Frankie will decide if Frankie should worry. Christy says that this child--this waif, really--just said that she saw an upcoming wedding and there was a problem. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Cass and Frankie 1993--Christy Lies; Ryan Is Pensive
Christy tells Cass and Frankie, Ryan, and Felicia that the fortune teller was a baby, a kid looking for a handout, and had this pathetic line about her grandmother saying she had a gift. Frankie asks Christy if Christy thought Frankie would be upset about this. Christy replies that she knows how wacky Frankie gets about things like this. Cass tells Christy to watch what she says about Cass's intended as he puts his arms around Frankie and she puts her arms around him in return. Ryan offers to have some of his buddies on the police force go down and check this kid out, adding that they pick up scam artists like this all the time. Cass says that the kid was underage so she wouldn't qualify. "Anybody who's gonna try to throw a monkey wrench into this marriage has to answer to me," Ryan says.
"Come on, what are you worrying about? You're already had two dress rehearsals. The third one HAS to be blessed," Felicia says.
Christy tells Frankie and Cass to 'x' out any of this baby psychic stuff she brought up. Felicia has to get going, but tells Frankie and Cass that she'll call them tomorrow after talking to the chef to go over the menu. She says goodbye to Ryan, and Cass walks her to her car. Christy has to be leaving too, and tells Frankie that Douglas isn't doing too well, but Frankie is not to worry about Douglas, she is to think happy wedding.
Outside, Cass asks Christy what's wrong. Christy tells Cass not to tell Frankie, but the doctors have said that this could eventually affect Douglas's mind because of something about a lack of oxygen to the brain. Cass asks what's been happening. Christy lies that Douglas is nice sometimes and just as quickly, he's not, and he can be very hurtful, and he's not the same.
Meanwhile, Frankie tells Ryan that he doesn't have to cover with her, and she's sorry that he ran into the wedding stuff at Cass and Frankie's because it couldn't have been easy for him. Ryan tells Frankie he's okay with it, and he'll be even better with it tomorrow after Grant and Vicky are finally married and they go off on their honeymoon. Ryan tells Frankie that he just wants this all to be over. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

John and Sharlene Learn That Cass and Frankie Are Getting Married, 1990
While John eats breakfast, Sharlene is on the phone with her sister Emma Ordway, Frankie's mother. Sharlene is obviously tense throughout the conversation, which does not go unnoticed by her observant husband. Emma tells Sharlene, who tells John, that Frankie and Cass just got engaged, and that Emma will be coming to Bay City within the next two days to see Frankie and meet Cass. Sharlene assures Emma that there is room for her at the farm. John asks Sharlene why she's tense. Sharlene replies that she hasn't seen Emma in a long time. John asks if that's all that's making her tense, but they are interrupted when the jubilant Frankie and Cass arrive at the farm, bursting with the news of their engagement. Frankie tells Cass they should make John and Sharlene guess what Frankie and Cass's big news is. John immediately, and correctly, guesses that Frankie and Cass are engaged. Frankie looks at Cass, who swears he didn't tell them. Sharlene pipes up that Emma told them. Cass asks who Emma is. Frankie replies that Emma is her mother. Frankie isn't exactly thrilled to hear that her mother will be arriving in Bay City soon. John and Sharlene offer their congratulations and best wishes. Cass is still a little worried about John and Sharlene's reaction because of the rough conversations between the three of them in the past (most notably during Felicia's trial for the murder of Jason Frame, when Cass pushed both John and Sharlene to their breaking points on the witness stand). But all is forgiven, and John jokes to Cass that now that Cass is marrying into the family, this is when rough begins. Frankie pokes John, and Cass and John laugh and then sit down to Sharlene's pancakes. Meanwhile, Frankie frets to Sharlene about the terminal embarrassment she fears her mother will heap upon her when Emma arrives. Frankie wants her mother to meet Cass, but she hasn't seen Emma in a long time either, and Emma has a habit of dragging everything out from the past and blabbing it to everybody. Sharlene tells Frankie they shouldn't get upset about this before Emma has even left home. Cass calls to Frankie to have some pancakes. Frankie asks him if he got the recipe, because he's going to be doing the cooking. While Frankie joins Cass and John at the breakfast table, Sharly emerges, muttering about the last thing she needs being a nosy sister who never did know when to keep her mouth shut.

Cass and Frankie 1990--I'm So Excited, Everybody Seems to Be Moving in Slow Motion to Me
While Cass, Frankie, and John sit at the breakfast table talking and joking about big weddings, Sharly quickly comes up with an escape plan. When Frankie asks Sharlene to join the conversation and help her fight the guys, Sharly poses as Sharlene and tells Frankie not to drag her into this, then asks to speak to John privately and tells John that she has to go downtown to get the perfect engagement gift for Frankie and Cass that she saw in Jacobson's window right away. After Sharly hurries off, John tells Frankie and Cass that Sharlene forgot she had to be downtown, then leaves the kitchen to answer the phone in the living room after inviting Cass and Frankie to stay for more coffee and pancakes.
When they're alone, Frankie asks Cass if Sharlene seemed kind of hyper to him. Cass replies that to be perfectly honest, he didn't notice, because he's so excited that everybody seems to be moving in slow motion to him. Frankie tells Cass that's pretty sweet. Cass asks if she noticed his sweetness, and what else she noticed. Frankie tells him not to push his luck, then says that she was hoping Sharlene and John could stick around and celebrate with them. Cass agrees, adding that Felicia's taping her show, and Stacey's in court. It's hard to get a party going this time of day. Frankie asks Cass what they're going to do. Cass says he's sure something will come up. Laughing, Frankie asks, "Like what?" Cass looks around to make sure they're really alone, then whispers something in Frankie's ear, and they both laugh.

Cass and Frankie 1990--Frankie's Mother Emma Arrives and Meets Cass; Sharly Emerges Again
Cass and Frankie arrive at the farm, and Sharlene happily greets them both. Cass asks when his future mother-in-law is due to arrive. Sharlene replies that Emma should be here almost any minute. Frankie is upset to learn that John is at work because she says she needs another man there to serve as a buffer between Cass and Emma. Sharlene tells Frankie to calm down, because John promised he'd be there for lunch. Cass adds that he's always done well with mothers, and he promises Frankie that her mother will love him because he has irresistible charm and devastating good looks. Frankie says oh boy, are they in trouble, then. When Sharlene confesses that she's nervous too because Emma hasn't met John either, Frankie replies that Sharlene is Emma's baby sister, not Emma's baby girl. Sharlene agrees that's true. Cass says they'll have a wonderful day and they'll be one happy family...but just for moral support, when will John be home? Sharlene says that John will be home as soon as he's finished with The Iceman, a patient that John says has ice water in his veins (namely, Grant Harrison).
Frankie is sitting on Cass's lap when Sharlene returns to the living room to put the finishing touches on everything before Emma arrives and jokingly says that she's glad Cass and Frankie came by early to help her out. They both get up and start bantering about it being all Cass's fault, and Cass saying he's only made of flesh and blood, and Frankie pretending shock that he admitted it. Sharlene says she loves seeing Cass and Frankie this way, especially after they were both so stubborn for so long about admitting how they feel about each other. Frankie reminds Sharlene that Sharlene was stubborn about her own feelings for John for quite a long time. Sharlene says she always knew she loved John, she just wasn't sure if she... Then she says that's all ancient history. Cass tells Sharlene that she and John are his favorite couple in Bay City. After Sharlene sends Cass to the basement to get some folding chairs, Sharlene tells Frankie that she has started seeing a psychiatrist (namely, Taylor Benson) and she's doing some tests on Sharlene. Frankie thinks that's great and tells Sharlene that therapy can be very helpful. Sharlene says she feels so much better already. Frankie says they come from good stock, contrary to popular belief, and hugs Sharlene as she says they're all going to be fine. Emma arrives then, and Frankie calls for Cass. Frankie greets her mother with a hug. "Look at that hair," Emma says when she sees Frankie's perm. Sharlene and Emma hug. Sharlene says they waited too long, and Emma says it was for all the wrong reasons. Upon meeting Cass, Emma says that he is just what she would have expected Mary Frances to fall for. Cass asks if that's good or bad. Frankie says it's good, of course. When Cass says he sees where Frankie gets her good looks, Emma remarks that Cass is a smooth one. Frankie shoots Cass a "not now" look when Cass tries to joke that some would say he's borderline slimy. Emma says she's been worried about Frankie, but she's never seen Frankie look this happy. Frankie says she's never been this happy. While Cass and Frankie are talking to Emma, Sharly emerges and mutters that Emma the old witch better keep her trap shut. Then she offers them all drinks and asks if iced tea is all right, and Cass says it sounds good.

Cass and Frankie 1990--Emma Meets John; Sharly at The Pelican Club
Cass and Frankie talk with Emma after Sharlene sends them all outside. They discuss the farm, and Josie being on the cover of Sophisticate magazine, and then John arrives and formally meets Emma. John asks if Sharlene went into town. Frankie says Sharlene is in the kitchen, but John tells the others that Sharlene's car is gone and asks if Josie borrowed it. Cass says Sharlene's car was there when they arrived. John excuses himself to go into the house. Frankie says that Sharlene would have told them if she was going someplace, and Cass agrees, so Frankie wonders where Sharlene went.
Inside, while John makes a phone call, Emma asks Frankie if this has been happening with Sharlene a lot lately. Frankie sort of shrugs. Meanwhile, John talks to a bartender at The Pelican Club and asks him to tell Sharlene if she comes in today to call home. In reality, Sharly is sitting at the bar with Grant Harrison and told Jimmy, the bartender who took John's call, to say she wasn't there. John asks Frankie if Sharlene seemed okay to Frankie. Frankie replies that she did, that she was very relaxed and she told Frankie about going into therapy. Emma is not happy at the revelation that Sharlene is in therapy and whispers, "She's doing it again." John overhears this and pulls Emma aside, asking what Emma meant by that. Emma insists she didn't mean anything at all, just that Sharlene is acting up. John firmly says he needs Emma to tell him what she's talking about. Emma blows him off and tells him to help her give Cass a hard time about marrying into the family.

Cass and Frankie 1990--Emma Gives Frankie, Then Cass, a Hard Time
Emma Ordway has a very prickly personality and, despite her assertion in this scene that she and Frankie are close, these are only the first scenes in which we clearly see that Frankie's mother is one of the sources directly responsible for her insecurities...and that she doesn't think much of Cass, or of Frankie choosing to marry him (so, yes, I dislike Emma).
Emma balks at Cass's offer of a late lunch at TOPS, his treat, when Sharlene returns, insisting that she doesn't drink champagne. Trying to avoid a scene, Frankie says that Emma can drink cherry pop. Emma indignantly says since when does she drink cherry pop? Frustrated, Frankie explodes that Emma can drink water, then, and Emma's response is to tell Frankie there's no need for her to be snippy. Then when Frankie offers to make her mother a sandwich, Emma initially refuses, then wants Frankie to toast the bread and cut off the crusts.
After Frankie leaves to make Emma's sandwich, Cass tells Emma that he loves Frankie very much. Emma says she wants to believe that, but makes it clear that she doesn't by throwing Cecile, Caroline, and Nicole in Cass's face. Cass thinks she was checking up on him, but she says that Frankie told her because they're so close. Emma accuses Cass of saying "I love you" to a whole bunch of people, basically every woman he dates.
Then Grant's campaign manager calls the house looking for John, who leaves to meet the man, Ted, while Cass heads outside to get away from Emma and her judgmental attitude.

Frankie and Cass 1990--I Never Said You Were a Gigolo! I Said You Were a Cad.
Cass and Frankie steal some time on Sharlene and John's porch, where Cass tells Frankie about his run-in with Emma and what she said to him. The conversation is vintage Frankie and Cass. Cass has to go and meet with Michael and Donna Hudson, who were, at this time, gearing up to battle for custody of Mikey, but he won't be too long, so he suggests to Frankie that they meet at The Pelican in an hour and spend some time together just the two of them. Frankie says in an hour, she'll be chomping at the bit to get away from that woman, so she'll see Cass at The Pelican in an hour. Then she kisses him, he leaves for his meeting with Michael and Donna, and she heads inside to face her mother.

Frankie and Emma Square Off Over Cass; Sharly Comes Home, Then Sharlene Returns, 1990
Frankie defends Cass to Emma and tells Emma to ease off of him, but Emma is not inclined to do that. They are interrupted when Sharly comes back from her afternoon with Grant. When Frankie says they were worried about Sharlene, and Emma asks where she was, Sharly angrily tells them both to back off. Sharlene returns shortly thereafter with no memory of Sharly being in charge, as is the normal case. Frankie is ready to leave, and tells Sharlene not to worry about anything for the engagement party Sharlene is hosting for Frankie and Cass in a few more days; all she has to do is provide the space, and Frankie and Cass will take care of the rest. Emma is not pleased that Sharlene has been encouraging Frankie and Cass when Sharlene says that Cass is great. Emma hurts Frankie's feelings by telling her that she's reaching too high in being with Cass (gee, thanks a lot, Mama) because they come from different backgrounds and Cass is too charming, and has money, and it will only spell trouble as it always has for Frame women.

Cass Meets With Michael and Donna, 1990
The biological parents of Michael and Donna's adoptive son Mikey resurfaced and wanted custody of their son back in 1990. Cass is breaking this news to Michael and Donna in these scenes, and telling them that he needs to know if they want to proceed with a custody battle within the next 24 hours, and that if they do decide to go ahead and fight for custody of Mikey, they're going to have to play hardball. Michael and Donna want to discuss it first, and Cass thinks that's wise, then reminds them he has to know their decision within 24 hours. On his way out, he sees the just-returned-from-California Marley, who is talking to Jake in the hall outside Michael and Donna's apartment, and tells Marley it's good to see her again.

Cass and Frankie 1990--Look Into My Eyes and Believe
Caroline Stafford rears her head again just in time to find out about Cass and Frankie's engagement, and she gets angry about it--even though Cass says, "I thought everybody knew" (meaning he thought everybody knew how he feels about Frankie!)--and says that their marriage will never work because they're too different. She says this after accusing the couple of enjoying watching her make a fool of herself, and before sarcastically wishing them good luck. After the blonde witch departs, Cass tells Frankie he's sorry about that. Frankie says that Caroline is right, and Frankie and Cass are different. Cass says he certainly hopes so, because he would never marry anyone like him. Frankie asks Cass to please not joke now. This is when Cass gets serious and tells Frankie that they are not going to worry about what Caroline thinks, or what Frankie's mother thinks; what the hell do they know? Cass tells Frankie, "I love you. I've never been surer of anything in my entire life. Look into my eyes and believe."

Hey, everybody!
I've had computer problems,
storms, and been under the weather so far this week,
but here, finally, are the links to this week's clips.
Thanks to Janie for the 1993 scenes.

~~~Oh my *AG*, what can you do when you
don't have problems & illness & storms ???
Christmas 1992, *KG*! That was the biggest batch of clips I ever did. There were over sixty (I forget the exact #), and I did that, plus the two Christmas '92 videos (Cass and Frankie, "This Christmas Time," and the ensemble cast "The Magic of Christmas Day (God Bless Us Everyone)") in a week.
And I had a total blast doing it!
