Hey, everybody!
Here are this week's clips. In February 1993, both Felicia, and Christy Carson, continue to spiral out of control, leaving their friends and loved ones trying to figure out ways to either help them (Felicia) or stop them (Christy Carson). And in May 1990, Cass and Frankie see what will become their home for the first time, and John asks for Frankie's help in determining exactly what's going on with Sharlene. Thanks to Janie for the 1993 clips.

Dean and Jenna Celebrate Dean's Birthday, 1993
Jenna realizes that it's Dean's birthday and initially feels badly that she doesn't have any presents for him but assures him that she can come up with a gift. Thanks to Janie for the scene.

Jenna, Dean, and Lorna at Jenna and Dean's Apartment
Dean awakens the morning after his birthday to find that Jenna has made breakfast. She tells him that she always has time for him. Dean is concerned when Jenna says she's not hungry, and he reminds her that she's eating for two now. Jenna ponders whether or not there's a right time or best time to tell Felicia that she's pregnant. Then there's a knock at the door, followed almost immediately by Lorna entering. Dean called her and asked her to come over so they could have a business meeting, but he forgot he called her. While waiting for Dean to get dressed, Lorna helps herself to a piece of toast and a glass of orange juice. Jenna assures Dean she doesn't mind that he and Lorna are having a meeting, and tells them to use the kitchen table to spread out the papers Lorna brought because Jenna has to get ready to leave for her day of school and work. Once they're at the kitchen table, Dean tells Lorna to forget about the papers because that's not what he wanted to talk to her about. His career has been at zero miles per hour since Lorna became his manager and Dean wants to know why. He got the deal with Andrew Stark, but Lorna closed that deal and nothing has happened since then. Lorna tells Dean he could have anybody for a manager, but no one would be able to do a bloody thing unless Dean writes some songs. Jenna's pregnancy has monopolized Dean's time, and Dean admits that he's been a little preoccupied, but as his manager, Lorna is to get Dean's butt in gear if he's sitting on his butt. Lorna says she's been a little bit busy herself. Dean agrees that they've both been busy with family stuff. Lorna says she's got to stay with Felicia because Felicia needs her. Dean totally understands about Felicia, but that doesn't mean that his career should come to a grinding halt, no matter how much Felicia needs Lorna. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Iris and Hank--You're the One Who Matters
Hank tells Iris about the first time he met Mac, his first week on the job. Even though he was one of the guys at the bottom at Cory Publishing, Mac knew his name, and made everyone feel like there was nothing you couldn't do and no ladder you couldn't climb, even the guys at the bottom. Iris tells Hank that he is tops with her. Hank is bothered by the fact that he and Iris come from two different worlds and he thinks that there could never be a place for him in Iris's world because he doesn't fit in. Iris serves Hank breakfast; she gave the housekeeper the morning off because she wanted privacy. Hank has to get to work, but Iris doesn't want him to go because they have so much to talk about, like Tommy. Hank replies that he's sure Tommy is having a ball with his mother, and his mother is spoiling him rotten. Iris knows that Hank would rather be doing that. Hank says he'd like to take Tommy to a few ball games this summer and help him with his homework and do things that dads do with their sons. Iris tells him he'll get to do those things. Hank says no, he won't, Tommy's mother will. He again tries to leave for work, and Iris again asks him to stay. Hank tells Iris he's not like her--he works for a living. He instantly apologizes, saying he didn't mean it that way. Iris knows what he meant. Hank says he works on the clock, and if he doesn't show up, he gets docked. Iris then offers to pull a few strings for Hank since she's the boss, but Hank refuses to let her. He asks how she's going to explain that he's not coming into work. Is she going to tell his boss that they spent half the night making love and decided to sleep in? Iris retorts that it's nobody's business what they did last night. Hank asks if she'll tell his boss that she invited him over to unclog her sink or light her pilot light that went out, then. Iris replies that she's done her best to make Hank feel comfortable at her apartment. Hank says that means he gets to use the front elevator. Iris tells Hank that she cares about him and would never do anything to embarrass him, and asks Hank if it really upsets him that she has an apartment that he can't afford and that he's surrounded by things he can't buy. When Hank says yes, Iris says if that's the case, then maybe Hank is right and maybe he should go. He starts for the elevator and Iris throws a couch pillow at him and tells him that it doesn't matter where she is as long as she's with him, because he is the one who matters. Hank tells Iris he doesn't care if they dock him a month's pay, and they kiss. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Christy Admits She Has Fallen in Love With Cass--Douglas Asks Her to See a Psychiatrist
Christy is alarmed when she finds Douglas using the oxygen again. He tells her it was just a minor episode and that's why he didn't bother her. Christy thinks it's because they argued last night, but Douglas tells her that his heart is dying and eventually so will he. Christy tells Douglas to stop it because she can't stand to hear it. Douglas insists that he has to know that Christy will be all right without him, and that's why he can't have her shutting him out of her life now. Christy tells Douglas he's right, and that he's been right all along: she has fallen in love with Cass. Douglas asks what happened. Christy says she didn't mean to fall in love with Cass, but he was just so helpful, and he was always there for her. Douglas says Cass was doing his job as a lawyer. Christy says that Cass has been there for her every step of the way and he's been her rock. Douglas reminds Christy that Cass is Christy's best friend's fiancee and asks if Christy really knows that she shouldn't be feeling this way and if she cares that Frankie would be terribly upset if she knew. Why has Christy let this charade continue? Christy reminds Douglas that he told her to go out and find someone. Douglas replies that he didn't mean Cass, and that Christy is weaving her fantasies on thin air again. Christy asks how she would explain it if she would stop seeing Cass. Douglas says that Frankie and Cass deserve a happy marriage. Christy promises Douglas that no one will ever know of her feelings for Cass except Douglas, but Douglas tells her not to make promises of the heart. Then he says that Christy's psychiatrist in New York gave him a referral for her in Bay City, and he hands her the paper with the information. He asks her to see the psychiatrist for him, because they have so little time left. Christy agrees that she needs to talk to someone. When the doorbell rings, Douglas gets angry when Christy tells him that it's Dr. Beckett, who she asked to stop by after Douglas's episode last night. Douglas tells Christy to send him away because Douglas doesn't want any more tests. Christy counters that she doesn't want Douglas to die, and the two fiercely embrace. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Cass and Frankie 1993--The Trouble With Felicia
Frankie is about to call Franco to confirm the arrangements for her and Cass's wedding when Cass stops her and tells her he doesn't think they should have the wedding at TOPS. Frankie thinks that Christy put Cass up to this, but Cass very seriously says no, she didn't; he just doesn't want to give Felicia another reason to drink, especially after last night (Grant and Vicky's wedding reception). Frankie agrees that Cass has a point, but asks what they're going to do. Cass replies that they're still going to have the most wonderful, romantic two people in love could have, but just not at TOPS. Cass asks Frankie if she thinks she can handle it. Frankie says they have four days, and she guesses they could get married at home. Cass kisses Frankie and apologizes. The doorbell rings, interrupting them. It's Felicia, who is there to finish planning the wedding. But Cass doesn't call Christy to come over and help finish the wedding plans because he and Felicia need to talk. Felicia tells Cass that last night was nothing. Frankie tells Felicia that she and Cass are very worried about Felicia. Cass reminds Felicia that he and Frankie had to carry Felicia home and put her to bed. Felicia admits she had too much to drink last night, and tells Cass and Frankie they were wonderful taking care of her last night, but it's over and she doesn't want to talk about it anymore. Frankie says she's going to leave Cass and Felicia alone to talk, kisses Cass and promises to see him soon, tells Felicia to take care, and leaves the house. Felicia sarcastically says that was subtle. Cass says Frankie's just trying to help. Felicia asks Cass what it is he thinks she needs to say to him. Cass wants Felicia to admit that she was drunk last night. Felicia thinks Rachel and Lorna have gotten to Cass and filled his head with lies, but Cass tells Felicia that he can see for himself what's happening. Felicia carries on then, blowing in Cass's face so he can smell her breath and rummaging through her purse to look for little bottles of booze. Cass, frustrated, yells at Felicia that he's not on Lorna's side and he's not on Rachel's side, he's on Felicia's side. They're all on Felicia's side, except Felicia. Felicia fires back that she occasionally has too much to drink, but so does everybody else once in a while. Cass brings up the dressing room fire again, and Felicia says that was an accident and tells Cass to get off her back and stop blaming her for everything that's going wrong here. Cass says he just wants Felicia to face herself and admit she has a problem. Felicia says none of this is her fault, it's Rachel and Sloane's fault for throwing her off her show. Cass tells Felicia to listen to herself; she's blaming everybody else for her problems. Felicia asks Cass if she's supposed to blame herself. What about Luke's death, what about Sally Madison, what about the fact that she's unemployed now? Cass tells Felicia he wants her to admit she has a problem and she needs help. He wants to help her if he can; that's what he's there for. Felicia tearfully gathers her things and says she shouldn't have come. Cass tells her not to go. Felicia says she's sorry she bothered Cass and leaves. After she's gone, Cass calls Rachel and tells her that if they don't find a way to help Felicia soon, he's afraid she's going to totally lose it. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Lorna and Dean--If You Don't Let Me Down, I Will Not Let You Down; Kevin Calls Lorna About Felicia
Lorna tells Dean that she is not trying to sabotage his career for the sake of her family. Dean asks what she is doing, then. Lorna replies that Jake is going to shoot another video for them, and she has arranged some studio time to get some album cuts, but none of that will happen without any songs. Dean tells Lorna she'll get the songs. Lorna says that's great, and she's out of there unless Dean needs to yell at her some more. Dean says maybe he was a little overreactive. Lorna asks if that's an apology. Dean says no, it's not an apology. He has a lot of things to worry about: Jenna, a new baby, rent, food to put on the table, and he just wants to know if he'll have a paycheck coming in so he can take care of all these things. Lorna tells Dean to calm down, and if he doesn't let her down, she will not let him down, and if this happens, there'll be no stopping Dean's career. The phone rings and Dean answers; it's Kevin, calling to talk to Lorna because Cass wants to meet Lorna at Sassy's in half an hour to talk about Felicia. Lorna asks Kevin if he can be there, and Kevin says he guesses he can cancel his appointment. Lorna says she'll see Kevin there and hangs up. Dean asks what's going on. Lorna replies that she doesn't know but it's not good and leaves. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Felicia, Jenna, and Dean at Jenna at Dean's Apartment
After leaving Cass and Frankie's, Felicia surprises Jenna and Dean with a visit at their place. Dean can't talk for long because he's working, but he does say hi to Felicia. Felicia wants to take Jenna shopping again, but Jenna is too busy to go shopping. Maybe another time? Felicia agrees, then gives Jenna a big hug and tells her she loves her and she's growing up so fast. Jenna asks if everything is all right. "Absolutely," Felicia lies. Then she says she'll call Jenna and they'll do lunch when Jenna has some free time. Jenna suggests meeting Felicia for coffee at Sassy's, since Jenna has a break between meetings and Sassy's is close to the studio, plus Jenna thinks they need to talk about some things. When Felicia sternly says that she does not need a chaperone, Jenna replies that she knows Felicia can handle her drinking. Felicia replies that if Jenna thinks that, then they're up against an awful lot of people. Jenna says the others don't know Felicia like Jenna does, especially Lorna, and that Felicia is the strongest, most courageous woman Jenna knows. Felicia agrees to meet Jenna at Sassy's and then heads out. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Cass, Rachel, Lorna and Kevin Agree to Talk to Victor Rodriguez About Felicia; Felicia Arrives
Cass, Rachel, Lorna, and Kevin meet at Sassy's to discuss Felicia. Rachel and Cass tell Lorna and Kevin about Felicia's behavior at Grant and Vicky's wedding reception. Rachel tells Lorna that in her current condition, Felicia is in no shape to return to the show. Lorna asks how Jenna's ratings are and is not surprised when Rachel tells her that Jenna's ratings and demographics are better than Felicia's. Cass tells Lorna that Felicia could not control herself last night and was not aware at all of what she was doing or how she was acting. Rachel adds that she wants Felicia back on the show but not under these conditions. Kevin suggests seeing a therapist. Cass tells him that Felicia won't even admit she has a problem, so how are they supposed to get her to see a therapist? Kevin clarifies, saying he didn't mean Felicia, he meant all of them. Kevin has a friend who's an abuse counselor, Victor Rodriguez, and Lorna adds that she's met Victor and he seems to think he can help them help Felicia as long as they all agree on what's best for Felicia. Cass and Rachel agree that it's worth a shot, and Cass wants to include Jenna. Lorna says that will be tough since Jenna doesn't think Felicia has a problem. Cass insists that Jenna is too important a part of Felicia's life to be left out of this meeting. Lorna agrees to talk to Jenna but tells Cass not to expect miracles because Jenna thinks that they are the enemy and it's going to be very hard to convince Jenna that they know what's best for Felicia.
After Lorna leaves to talk to Jenna, Kevin calls Victor, who agrees to meet with the group tomorrow afternoon. Rachel and Cass agree to both clear their schedules. Felicia arrives at Sassy's then, and Cass, Rachel, and Kevin see her and she sees them. Felicia waits at the bar for Jenna. Cass goes over to talk to Felicia and ask her to join them at the table, but she won't talk to him, and he returns to the table and tells this to Rachel and Kevin. Cass suggests that Rachel talk to Felicia, but Rachel says she doesn't know what to say to Felicia anymore. Kevin leaves because he's late for an appointment. Rachel also has to go, but before she does, she tells Cass that he can't watch Felicia every minute of the day. Alone at the table, Cass watches Felicia at the bar. Felicia orders a glass of white wine while she's waiting for Jenna. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Lorna and Jenna--Do You Want to Lose Another Mother? Because I Don't.
Lorna goes to see Jenna at KBAY and asks Jenna to attend the meeting with her, Cass, Rachel and Kevin about Felicia. She also shows Jenna the tape of Felicia's tirade at Grant and Vicky's wedding reception. Jenna is shocked at Felicia's behavior, but doesn't think that someone who doesn't even know Felicia can help. Lorna retorts that right now Jenna doesn't know Felicia either, and then asks her if she wants to lose another mother, because Lorna doesn't. Jenna says that Lorna didn't want Felicia to be her mother in the first place, so why doesn't Lorna back off? Lorna tells Jenna that she cares about Felicia. When Jenna says that she does too, Lorna suggests that Jenna start showing it. She suggests that Jenna take a good look at Felicia when they're at lunch today, and listen to her excuses, and then, Lorna says, Jenna should ask herself if not helping is really helping Felicia. Jenna leaves. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Jenna and Felicia at Sassy's; Jenna Calls Lorna and Agrees to Attend the Meeting
Jenna and Felicia meet at Sassy's. When talk turns to Grant and Vicky's wedding, Felicia, not knowing that Jenna already knows (and saw the tape) of her tirade at the reception tells Jenna about it but tries to downplay its seriousness and chalk it up to being overwhelmed, at least partly because she was reminded of her and Luke's wedding. When Felicia goes to the little girls' room, Jenna calls Lorna and tells her that she has changed her mind and will be attending the meeting with Lorna and the others because Felicia is very vulnerable right now and needs someone on her side, and that person is going to be Jenna. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Frankie Hears Christy Yelling at Douglas; Christy Lashes Out at Frankie
Dr. Beckett gives Douglas a cursory examination and tries to persuade him to have more tests done to see if he would qualify for a heart transplant, but Douglas flatly refuses, saying he wants to live the life God gave him with dignity. Christy sees Dr. Beckett out, then tells Douglas that she thought she was doing the right thing calling the doctor and she's so scared of losing Douglas. Douglas replies that he knows Christy is scared, but she also knows what the right thing is, and she needs to accept it. He asks her to read to him, and she finally agrees, but before she gets very far, she loses it and explodes at Douglas about how sick she is of his demands on her. Frankie arrives in time to hear Christy shrieking at Douglas that he has no right to tell her how to act and how to live when he doesn't care enough to stick around.
Frankie tries to leave, but Douglas dismisses this as nonsense and tells Frankie she's welcome anytime. Frankie gets sucked into Douglas and Christy's debate/argument about Douglas's condition, and Christy lashes out at Frankie, saying that Frankie doesn't know anything, and she comes waltzing in here with all the right answers and wanting to help Douglas carry out his last wishes, but Frankie doesn't have to measure her future with Cass in weeks. Christy coldly tells Frankie that Douglas is hers, not Frankie's husband, but Christy's husband, and to leave him alone. Frankie says she never meant to upset Christy. Christy is still very upset, however, and she tells Frankie that Frankie has no idea what it's like to live like this. Christy tells Frankie about the heart transplant possibility, but Douglas refuses to go through that because he is not an experiment, and if he did go through with it, he would be living out the rest of his life going in and out of the hospital under the care of doctors and following their orders and that would be worse than death for him. He asks Frankie to explain it to Christy. Christy says she's not an idiot, she just doesn't agree with Douglas, that's all, and then she gets her coat and says she's going out. Frankie and Douglas both ask Christy to stay and talk, but Christy ignores them and leaves. After she's gone, Frankie tells Douglas that everything will be okay. Douglas tells her not to say things just to comfort him, because they both know that may not be true. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Christy Has Another Flashback and Decides Not to Call the Psychiatrist
At the hospital, Christy talks to Dr. Beckett and trash talks Frankie, saying that Douglas won't even think about surgery because of Frankie, which causes Beckett to insult Frankie. When Dr. Beckett tells Christy that Douglas will be lucky to see the spring, she starts crying. He is then beeped and has to leave her alone. She goes to the nearby pay phone to call the psychiatrist whose name and number Douglas gave her, but before she can dial, she has another flashback to being rushed down a hallway on a gurney with doctors and nurses yelling that it's an emergency and they need to help her stat. She sees herself reciting a soliloquy from a play and then screaming "NO!" over and over. When she sees one of the doctors produce a hypodermic needle, she screams "DOUGLAS, DON'T LEAVE ME!" She comes back to the present and says aloud, "Douglas, don't leave me. Wait." Then she crumples up the psychiatrist's card and rushes off, ignoring Dr. Beckett when he tries to get her attention. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Douglas Agrees to Look at Frankie's Ethics Paper
Frankie tells Douglas she had hoped Christy would be back by now, and the last thing she wants is for Christy to be angry with her, especially with the wedding so close. Douglas says that Christy might not be back for hours. He notices that Frankie brought her ethics paper and asks if he can see it, and he promises not to go over it with a red pen. Frankie tells Douglas she wants his comments and criticism, and asks Douglas not to let Christy see her paper. Douglas agrees, saying the subject matter may upset her. Frankie said that she seems to be what upsets Christy; no matter what Frankie says or does, Christy takes it the wrong way, and Frankie doesn't know why and has no idea what to do about it. Douglas tells Frankie all they can do is wait for Christy to come home. Frankie reminds Douglas he said that could be hours, especially if Christy is releasing tension, and she asks Douglas if he thinks that's where Christy has gone. Has she gone dancing? Thanks to Janie for the scenes.

Christy Goes to Talk to Cass
After leaving the hospital, Christy goes to Cass and Frankie's house. Cass tells her that Frankie isn't home, and Christy says she knows and she came to talk to Cass. Cass asks if it's Douglas, and Christy says Douglas is fine, and she came to talk about herself. Actually, she says, she came to talk about herself and Cass. She tells Cass she wants to talk about "us." Thanks to Janie for the scene.

Cass Before Meeting Frankie to Look at Houses, 1990
Cass drops by Amanda and Sam's loft on his way to meet Frankie to look at houses to briefly explain to Amanda how she'll need to sign the papers soon because she will be receiving a large chunk of her inheritance on her upcoming birthday. He can't stay long because he's meeting Frankie to look at houses, which he tells Amanda with a big smile on his face. They're just starting to look today, and Cass is thinking about green grass and fresh air. He and Frankie want something at least five miles from the law office. As he's leaving, Cass says he guesses it's time for him to become a land baron and heads off to meet Frankie and the realtor, leaving the papers with Amanda.

Cass and Frankie in Their House for the First Time, 1990--Part 1
Cass and Frankie see what will become their house for the first time. Plenty of Cass and Frankie-ness ensues. Some of my favorite scenes.

Cass and Frankie in Their House for the First Time, 1990--Part 2
Frankie loves the house. She freaks out when Cass mentions them playing stud poker around their kitchen table with their four kids, and Cass talks her down. Then Cass panics a bit about buying a house that needs so much work, telling Frankie that he has several clients going through divorces because their marriages couldn't withstand the pressure of renovating a house. Frankie reminds Cass that he told her their love can withstand anything. Cass agrees to think about buying the house, then has to leave to get back to the office. Frankie waits for the realtor to return after telling Cass she'll meet him at the office. Before leaving herself, Frankie looks at the initials carved in the window seat again, which she showed Cass in part 1, and says "I'll be back."

Cass and Frankie 1990--At the Office; John Asks for Help With Sharlene
Frankie returns to the law office and tells Cass that she told Fitzy (their realtor) that they would think about the house. Cass tells Frankie he can't possibly work with her being there all sexy like she is. She offers to go and read in his office, but he tells her that he needs to look something up in there so he'll go in there and she can stay out front. After Cass goes into his office, John arrives and asks Frankie why she hasn't been coming around to the farm lately. Frankie realizes John doesn't know about the argument she had with Sharlene about Emma, so she tells him. After Frankie tells him about the argument, John says he feels like he doesn't know Sharlene anymore. Frankie asks why the therapy isn't helping Sharlene. John replies that maybe the therapist isn't focusing on the right issues, or maybe Sharlene won't let the therapist focus on the right issues. John asks Frankie for a big favor: he wants her to make up with Sharlene and then stick real close to her. Frankie incredulously asks if John wants her to tail her own aunt like some kind of cheating wife. John tells Frankie that he has to find out why Sharlene is acting the way she is, and if Sharlene is keeping secrets, what those secrets are, no matter what happens and no matter who's involved. Meanwhile, out at the farm, the confused, scared, frustrated Sharlene breaks down crying after wondering aloud what's going on.
