The first story is based on something I heard a few years ago the writers were planning on doing the summer of 87 but then there was a writers strike and characters were written out that weren't meant to be.
The first story focuses on Adam and M.J. In this M.J. Doesn't leave town and stays because a situation has arisen. The story is going to deal with this and the changes M.J. makes and how she and Adam deal with this and how it affects everyone around them.
There even is a happy ending for Chad. I just love me some Richard Burgi.
The story starts about a month after the cancellation of the wedding, the "death" of Kathleen, the return of Vicky (who doesn't really get a big part of the story til later)
Involved in the story will be besides the 2 main culprits, Cass, Felicia, Wallingford, the McKinnons of course, the Corys, Jamie, Lisa, Vicky, Chad among others.
If you remember M.J. quit the police force after the break up of the wedding and she of course needs a job and this is where our story begins.
This is short but will get the ball rolling and give an indication of where this is going....
Mid August 1987
Cass' new office
(Cass has returned to being a lawyer in this story.)
M.J. walks in and sees Cass has an office that to say is scattered is an understatement.
M.J. "Cass you wanted to see me? What's up?"
Cass: "Well I know you quit the police force and are looking for something for work."
M.J. "I've talked to Felicia about singing at Tops but you're right I do need something full time."
Cass: "Well as you know I've gotten my practice going again but I do need an assistant and someone with investigational abilities which you picked up from years with the police force would also help because Michael and I still are investigating Reginald and I do want to find out the whole truth about what happened to Kathleen. So how about it? You come work for me?"
M.J. "Sounds great and I'd love to but there's a complication to me getting into heavy duty investigative work in the next few months.'
Cass: "What is that?"
M.J. "I'm pregnant" _________________ Chicago. Museums, theater, a lake, Oprah, oh and one NL Central Champion baseball team.
Jake does have a part of this story even before he returns to Bay City which he did in May of 88. So Eplinlover your boy gets a part in the story. _________________ Chicago. Museums, theater, a lake, Oprah, oh and one NL Central Champion baseball team.
Frankie does make a sort of appearance in the story.
Also I have written a few different directions and I might put out which one do you want to see at certain points.
First question
One version the Rex Allingham thing never happens. What do you all think? _________________ Chicago. Museums, theater, a lake, Oprah, oh and one NL Central Champion baseball team.
Great start! The whole MJ/Adam thing is kinda fuzzy for me cuz that's about where I started watching so look forward to reading their story ~ even if it's different! Loved the McKinnons (okay, almost all the McKinnons).

You're torturing me now, Wendy? Like I really wanted to see HER. Do you REALLY want to have to edit me again? You know how I feel about HER. She is ! If you want to see it again, I'll go off. It's Monday, and I have now seen just about all of her really HORRIBLE acts. And you WILL have to edit me. Sheesh, she even looks ticked off in the picture you posted. If you really want me to say that I think that
Spoiler:
THAT DAMN F***ING LYING LIFE-RUINING SELFISH BEEOTCH tried to finger Lucas as Signet and torpedo his and Felicia's wedding, and didn't CARE that Carl was terrorizing Rachel, or that Jenna and Dean could have been killed because of her shooting off her big mouth, and she blamed EVERYTHING on Frankie, because Frankie wanted to put Carl away and heaven forbid that the pug-nosed lying wonder lose her the one thing still tying her to Cass: the threat of Carl. People got shot (Ryan and Grant), got killed (Joe the bodyguard), nearly got killed (Rachel, Jenna and Dean), and she didn't give a DAMN, because she wanted what SHE wanted! THANK GOD Cass FINALLY came to his senses and realized that he was trying to recreate a past that never truly existed and that he made the biggest mistake of his life when he left Frankie. And TDFW had the nerve to get mad at him for wanting to leave her when all she's done is bust his chops about having changed and not being fun anymore! As Cass said, "Charming and irresponsible gets a little old when you're over 35. I've outgrown it. I've changed, and you can't accept that!" And she blamed Frankie for that too! "Don't put Frankie in the middle of this! This is about you and me!" Cass told her. And when he got down on his knees on the balcony at TOPS for Frankie and then told her that he knows he can't just come strolling back into her life, "I want to EARN my way back, and I will put as much energy into that as I did into messing us up!" I forgave him. Right before the "Ladykiller" explosion, SHE was STILL ragging on Frankie. Frankie was trying to warn her that Carl was going to pull something, and she told Frankie off! And then Frankie saved her miserable life! When she overheard Cass and Frankie at the hospital after Frankie came back from Heaven, and then later told Sharlene, "I underestimated Frankie. She's quite a woman. It's not a competition anymore," I was ready to dance through the house, because not only had Cass FINALLY woken up WEEKS before that explosion (which only made him more determined), but SHE finally realized that Cass doesn't want her anymore, he wants ONLY Frankie. Not that she's gracious about conceding defeat, oh no. Her snotty comment to Dean at D&M: "YOUR side won, so you don't have to hate me anymore," like Cass was some kind of prize or trophy? I DON'T THINK SO! But somehow, I didn't expect her to be gracious. Like Cass himself said, Frankie loved him enough to let him go so he could see if he had anything left with THAT WITCH. I can't see HER being that gracious about ANYTHING, much less Cass being so determined to reunite with the woman he loves more than anything, the woman he loves so much that he willed her back to life (with help from her family): his Mary Frances. SELFISH! LYING to Frankie that she and Cass were getting remarried RIGHT BEFORE Felicia and Lucas walked down the aisle was LOW. Thank God Cass found out about THAT and ripped her a new one. "You did it to be cruel! You just wanted to get in a jab at Frankie!" he said. And SHE didn't deny it either! Get on the plane and go to New York, lady, because there's nothing left for you in Bay City anymore except your cousin Jake, and even he's been too busy for you lately since he fell in love with Paulina. I cheered Cass on every step of the way the first time around when he was pulling out all the stops and doing everything he could to make Frankie believe in their love. He has vowed to do the same thing this time: "I'm going to make you believe in our love again." I LOVED IT the first time, so I can't WAIT to see what he does this time! And when they're back together, y'all, I'm going to be bouncing off the ceiling like I was over their August wedding!
ACF, I'm not familiar with most of the McKinnons (I didn't start watching full-time until they got to about February of '89, Felicia's birthday party), but you're off to a great start.

It's okay, Wendy. Venting actually did me some good, I'm not having a very good day here and venting about Kathleen made me feel better. So you actually did me a favor here. Thank you!
Kathleen is a part of this story but she doesn't appear. In my rewritten universe she does return from the "dead" but she and Cass figure out quickly they are in different directions and never torture Frankie.
I really think you're going to like how I sort of have Frankie appear in this story. She doesn't appear in person so to speak but for a hint remember Lisa's a psychic. _________________ Chicago. Museums, theater, a lake, Oprah, oh and one NL Central Champion baseball team.
I was working on the cast list for the story and found out the actor I thought of for Alfred Cory (Adam's father) Forrest Compton actually played him in the 2 episodes he appeared in in 1987.
I have no idea who played Vivian Cory (Adam's mother) but I'm thinking of Maeve McGuire who played Kate McCleary on Search for Tomorrow.
They don't have a huge part of the story _________________ Chicago. Museums, theater, a lake, Oprah, oh and one NL Central Champion baseball team.

BLESS YOU!
If you read what I had in the spoilers, you can tell that I am no fan of She-whose-name-begins-with-a-K. I am, however, a HUGE fan of Cass and Frankie, always have been, always will be. I'm looking forward to getting to know the McKinnons better through your story.
Wow!!! an adam/m.j. story
i'm so loving this and it's the first time i've read a story about my fav. couple on a.w. except for my own story about them.
