We musta got someone else's weather here in the PacNW but we'll take it. Was 91 yesterday, expected high 80's today.  The DH is off running a 5K and I've got all the windows open (57 out there right now) and the A/C running so that I can get the house all cooled down for the kittles before we head to the big city in a few hours.   Got up to 78 in here yesterday ~ it's back down to 70.

I'm with you *T* ~ a juicy burger sounds great.  I can't stick to a *diet* at gatherings either.  Or on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or ESPECIALLY Friday (when I officially begin the weekend!).

Have a safe & sane one everybody!!!

It's veggie burgers for us(if you haven't tried them they're yummy; I promise!). Did you really expect anything else from a t_l Laughing ?

Happy Independence Day to everyone. Ironically, I was faced with a stark reminder of the troubles we are facing as a nation on our 233rd birthday. Was on my way home from the store earlier and stopped at the red light at the main intersection of our town. Ray Charles version of America The Beautiful was playing on the radio and to my left was what was once the largest Chrysler dealership in town with a big "For Sale" sign in front of its now empty lot. A sobering sight to say the least.....I can only wonder what the founding fathers(and mothers) would do to pull us out of the crises we're in now.

God Bless America....and all who lead her....now more than ever.

We got rained out on the 4th of July. Total flood, practically.

YIKES! Stay safe, Wendy!

Today's a big day for me: Three years ago today--July 6, 2006--I signed up for a YouTube account. Just a few days later, I uploaded my first-ever video with music, about the Cory family, including Cali Timmins' Paulina and with the emphasis on Rachel, in the first year after Mac's death, to the song "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. This was followed very closely by my first-ever Cass and Frankie video, to "At the Beginning" by Richard Marx and Donna Lewis, marking the occasion of their first wedding and showing briefly how they got there and how it was only the beginning for the best team in the league goin' all the way.

Here I am, three years and 2,064 videos later, with so much more ahead, both tomorrow and far, far beyond that. I have continued to make videos with music about Cass and Frankie, about the Corys, about several couples and storylines on AW, and I have several more in store in various stages of storyboard, brainstorming, and development. (Upcoming projects include Cass and Frankie during the Christy Carson story; Felicia's alcoholism and battle back from the bottle; Frankie and Ryan's friendship; and Jake and Paulina in 1991, as Jake falls in love with his blackmail bride.)

I have also branched out extensively in the past two years, ever since SoapNet yanked Another World away from us, and before HULU returned it to us, and posted as many scenes from as many stories as possible that I got on tapes from Janie...tapes that I am still pulling clips from, and tapes that I am still receiving.

And I'm pulling from my own collection of tapes from 1989-91 when the show was on SoapNet and I taped it every day and kept almost everything. My main emphasis is on Cass and Frankie, but I have several other stories to share, and I'm going to start doing that in the very near future, beginning with one of the landmark stories of 1989: the paternity test of and custody battle for Steven Frame.

When I first got the idea to make videos with music four years ago, and started uploading my video creations three years ago, and then with the addition of actual clips from the show two years ago, it all went way beyond what I had originally envisioned, and I couldn't be happier about that. Video making is something that I was interested in and fascinated by for quite a while before I figured out how to do it, and I know that I'm pretty good at, but I'm always trying to get better at it, with each video I make. And when it comes to the scenes from the show, I edit them together and cut out the commercials and just have a total blast with it. But the best part is that all of you have so much fun with it, too, because you are the ones telling me that you liked what I did with such and such a video or videos, and you are the ones thanking me for taking the time and putting in the effort to upload as much as I do and as often as I do so that you all can get some kind of AW fix by going to my YouTube channel. I wouldn't be here now if not for all of you.

Sue, my computer guru, thank you for helping me figure out the video capture device in the first place (after four days of having it plugged into the wrong jack in the VCR). You created a very happy monster by doing that, LOL. Thank you also for helping me figure out how to download episodes from Hulu, at least until they changed their coding so Replay Media Catcher wouldn't work anymore. I look forward to tackling October 29 and 30, 1991, and the last two weeks of December '91, whenever you're ready. (I'm going to try and get through mid-October before then.)

Janie, I was one of the many who took SoapNet's unexpected cancellation of AW extremely hard. How could I be expected to go without seeing Cass and Frankie find their way back to each other after The Long Ten Months, to miss Frankie in Heaven, The Case of the Stolen Heart, and a million other moments big and small with them? And everybody else! Felicia and Lucas had just gotten engaged, and had yet to adopt Jenna; Dean and Jenna hadn't declared their love yet; Lorna had just gotten to town, and didn't even know she was Felicia and Lucas's long-lost daughter; John and Sharlene were still battling Psycho Shrink Taylor Benson; D&M had just had their launch party, with "Ladykiller" and everything after that still to come; Anne Heche was about to leave her Emmy-award-winning roles of Vicky Hudson and Marley Love (and her characters' respective love interests Ryan Harrison and Jamie Frame), and Judi Evans Luciano had not yet assumed the role of Paulina Cory. How could I miss all of that, and everything that came after with everyone...with Jake and Paulina really falling in love, and Dean and Jenna in New York, Ryan and Carl learning they were really father and son, Felicia and Lucas finally getting married AND learning that Lorna was their daughter, and Cass and Frankie finally getting back together, getting engaged again, dealing with cracked Christy Carson (thank you, Byron, for the most fitting nickname ever!), and AT LAST getting legally married in the courtyard in Venice, Italy, followed by the Honeymoon on the Orient Express, getting pregnant with Charlie, the arrival of Cass's brother Morgan Winthrop, and Charlie's birth? Thanks to your foresight and generosity, I haven't had to miss anything, and neither has anyone with access to YouTube, because I put up just about everything that you send me. For everything that you've allowed me to see with everyone (but especially Cass and Frankie!), and for everything that remains to be seen with everyone (but especially Cass and Frankie!) that you will be providing us all with in the future, "thank you" doesn't seem anywhere near adequate enough, but it's all I can say, from the bottom of my heart and with everything in me.

To the friends I have made because of YouTube--Marci, Carol, Lu--may we have many more years to discuss Cass and Frankie, Dean and Jenna, various other residents of Bay City, and everything else under the sun.

To those who remain of the original gang from the old SoapNOT board--Byron, Suzanne, Wendy, and Marlo--and those who have joined us since then--Nettie, *KG*, Liz, Michelle, Natalie, Kathi, Nancy, Lucy, Priscilla, and the rest of the crew at Wendy's board--and to those old and dear friends that aren't heard from as much anymore--Dena, Cara, Queen, Patti, and Barb--thank you for making AW so much better and so much more fun for me than it would have been if I had to watch it by myself.

There's a lot more to come, so stay tuned...and thank you all for the last three years! Laughing

Amy

Squeeee!  I'm off work for the next for days.  But don't be thinkin' Nettie gets to lay around watchin' *hulu* and Amy's YT channel.  Nope ~ finally gonna tackle paintin' the second B/R.  When we're done with it, I want it to be my little African safari hideaway.  And yes, I picked that theme so that Mitch would feel right at home when he comes to visit.  Oh, cr@p ~ ain't it WGE's birthday coming up again?  ROAD TRIP!  I gotta get plannin'....

You're welcome, Nettie!

BTW, in between painting sessions, you might want to take a peek at "Cass and Frankie at Amanda's Birthday Party, 1990." Mitch is in those scenes. Very Happy

Gurl!  I've already been all over it and watched it twice!  I was hopin' the second time that Mitch & Felicia wouldn't argue but, alas, no such luck.  I remember him jumpin' all over her about Lucas being the blame for Matt's woes with Josie.

In between paint strokes, I ventured out into the living room to watch the memorial.  Very moving and agree with KT on those specific points.  I do remember Michael & Brooke.

I let Harley Tucker outta her cage for the 1st time(to roam free) this morn. I was cleanin' her gage & when she climbed on my shoulder, I jes let her keep goin'...Lord dat child is gonna run her self ragged!! I shut all the doors surroundin' the livin' room, put a wire rack in fron of the kitchen door, & stuffed towels under the recliner that she decided to run up in(not under, IN). She's in Chin Heaven!! I noticed a while ago that she went into her cage to get a bite of Hay & a sip of water, then bolted back out...lol!! I figure after a while she'll realize that the cage door doesn't shut when she's in there...As soon as she slows down a bit(gonna hafta chhange her name to *Lightnin' McQueen*), I'll take a few pix.

I've been meanin' to tell ya'll this....

The In-Laws have NEVER had Cable or Sat...The only channels they've ever watched is the runs ya can get with Rabbit Ears. They got the converter box after the switch, but they still only get a handful of channels....So...the DH hooked them up with an extra Sat. Dish & Receiver(the one I had in my bedroom...Boo Hoo...I never get to see George Lopez now)...They've gona from like 5 channels to 300...lol!!! We're gonna kill them!! It's so funny to watch cuz they can't make up their minds what to watch!! Usually in the evenin's, they sit on the porch, now they're layed up in front of the Boob Tube all the time Laughing  The other night we went down there & they were watchin' the Jewelry Channel(Gem)...Haaaa!! The FIL cracks me up!!

Welcome to the 21st Century(now if we could jes get 'em to get a cell phones)!!

Lemme jes start off my saying ~ PAINTING SUCKS!!!!

Okay, got that out.  Now...Awwwwwwwww!!!!  How CUTE is HarleyGurl?

So...I gotta admit, I left the DH home most of the yesterday with the painting and took my nieces to the zoo.  I know they're in their teens but they LOVE the zoo as much as their AuntieNet so we drove out there.  The weather was perfect ~ low 60's so the animals were havin' a ball.  Never seen the polar bears up close and personal ~ they was swimmin' and playin' and eatin' (hmmm...dey likes carrots) right up against the glass.  Yer Harley story reminded me seein' the river otters, meercats & lemurs, which were chasin' each other (in their own exhibits, of course) then piled up together fer a nap.  The girls thought it was "tight" to ride a camel.  We wuz there for HOURS.  Had to put in another 4-5 paintin' when I got home so's the union boss wouldn't fire me.

Awwww....yer in-laws are the newest members of the CouchPotatoClub!  Don't get 'em cells though ~ u are gonna have to program and teach 'em everything.  Trust me ~ I know!

Oh-oh ~ jes got snagged slackin' by the union boss.  Later!

They used to call it "future shock"...sounds like they're in it!

Convince them the cell phone could save one of your lives someday.
Try them w/ a throwaway as a gift...if they actually use it...they will
be hooked immediately jes like the rest of us.
{they'll prolly wanna be added to your family plan!}

Enjoy your *2nd time around* w/ the latest Tommyepis.
I barely paid attention to S&A's wedding in '91{lot goin' on},
but he & Judi were breakin' my heart this time.
Must go watch some Jake&Paulina asap!!!!

I'm so thrilled that they've finished up 1991 and started with 1992 at Hulu! Eventually they have just GOT to show Jake and Paulina's laundromat lovin' (that was from '92, right?), and Lorna saving Felicia from drowning, and of course, for me, Cass and Frankie in Venice, Frankie FINALLY saying yes when Cass proposes for about the sixth time (I'll have to count them again Very Happy), and then going home and they're gonna celebrate with Felicia and Lucas and Dean and Jenna except that Ryan gets arrested, so Frankie creates a diversion so he can escape and ends up getting arrested herself, and I've heard tell that Cass has to leave the others at TOPS to come and bail his fiancee out. Gonna be good!

I've spent most of the past two days looking for a job and I haven't gotten anywhere. I can't even get my old job back taking the phone calls for the crappy stuff they sell on TV--I'm eligible for rehire, but I was told yesterday when I inquired that I have to be invited back! Don't even get me started on the medical transcription stuff. Everyone both work from home and locally wants 1-5 years' experience! How are you supposed to get experience when no one will hire you? Sigh. At least there's AW, I Dream of Jeannie (Tony and Jeannie got engaged in this afternoon's second episode, so there's a whole bunch of great epis comin' up--Tony's bachelor party with drunk Dr. Bellows popping out of the cake is Monday!), Bewitched, and the upcoming season of How I Met Your Mother (Jason Segel, NPH, and one of the show's creators/executive producers Carter Bays have all added me as a friend on Facebook!).

Sounds like Harley Tucker thinks the house is a racetrack. Has she slowed down yet?

300 channels...I'd be shocked if we had that many. We only have 50, and like Springsteen said, there's nothin' on (with the exception of the abovementioned shows and Everybody Loves Raymond; gotta go to the videotapes or hulu to see Dick Van Dyke). I agree with *KG*--future shock. All those years of having just a few channels, and now they have more than they know what to do with. Hey, your DH didn't get 'em, like, The Playboy Channel, did he? Wink  Or what about Lifetime Movie Network? That one makes me laugh. Yes, I know I'm a woman, but 99% of those Lifetime movies are based on a true story, have to do with murder/drugs/teen pregnancy/prostitution/a spouse you didn't know was actually gay/kidnapping/rape/a child, spouse, sibling, or parent you love more than life itself dying or being permanently disabled somehow; they all seem to star somebody from either Beverly Hills, 90210 or Melrose Place (the originals from the '90s, not the dopey remakes the CW has now); and the plotlines have so much melodrama that just hearing about them makes me laugh like Mary Richards at Chuckles the Clown's funeral, even though it's inappropriate because it's "based on a true story." I think my all-time favorite melodramatic Lifetime movie based on a true story was the one about the woman who found out her husband was visiting hookers because he got arrested...and then when she went to the police station, she found out that the hooker that got arrested with her husband was their 16-year-old daughter. (Whatever happened to working at McDonald's or The Gap to save up for college or a car?) This actually happened to some poor family in real life, and it got turned into a Lifetime movie!

Ugh!  Dontcha jes hate painting???  We've spent DAYS on our spare bedroom cuz we took it from (real) wood paneling (former owners musta been crazy) to a nice bright happy color with trim.

Good news is the painting is finally over.  Bad (sorta) news is that Nettie don't want one stitch of the old furniture 'cept my craft armoire to go back into the room so now it's all purdy and sits practically empty.  Hehe...no more shot glass collection hanging on the wall.   Razz

Not my favorite way to spend a week off but dem home improvements gotta get done somehow.  Now I gotta go get organized for a neighborhood Yard Sale tomorrow.  Oh.  Joy.  This may go down as one of the best weeks of my life.  NOT!  upside down grin
