Thank Gawd no hurricanes in the Pac NW, Wendy!  But we do get our share of wind, sometimes FEELS like a baby 'cane.

I'm soooo bummed I can't get the TwitterNet at work!  Razz  Means I actually gotta WORK!  Dat suck or what? Mr. Green

Hey ~ didn't I tell y'all last year that I am EXTREMELY allergic to these guys?

I'm definitely a slow learner cuz I woke up and couldn't *breave* and thought maybe I had a cold then while I was sittin' at my desk I realized that I have a HUGE bokay of sunflowers at both my desk and on the table at home.  Bummer cuz I really like 'em.  Gave the work bokay to the boss for some brownie points Razz.

Hey all, it's me, Janie!!!  Miss me???

I have had a lot going on in life these past few months.  Jess is a Senior this year and she is the Brass Captain for her marching band, Elizabeth is a Sophomore and is finally marching a bass drum this year, and Caleb is in Fifth grade and learning the trombone.  Kinda loud at the Anderson household at times.

Work is going good, and I start my MBA studies within the year.  If anyone has a facebook account, look me up:  Janie Lynn Mabe Anderson

Catch up with y'all later on!!!  I don't need to stay away for this long.

Oy, dat Boy can perform anything he wants on me!  YUM!

Yep, the DH grows dem sunflowers for me every year (hmmmm....maybe he is tryin' to do me in ~ did mention uppin' my life insurance policy...) and that is an actual pic from our FRONT yard (also my TwitterBackground).  I am beginnin' to suspect that it's more than allergies & maybe really is a baby cold.

Hey, Janie ~ good to hear from ya!  Doin' the Twitterin' thing myself which links me to Linda Dano's FB fan page.  Lots of fun.  Who woulda thunk there would be new ways to stalk my favorite gurl?  Razz  Don't stay away so long next time.

Been listenin' to the Oldies on my Pod to get me into the mood to see the Wilson sisters (aka Heart) tonight in concert!  Rock it Gurlz!

Don't know 'bout y'all but it's been a LONG week in NettiesWorld.

Hey Amy ~ was the season premiere of HIMYM everything you wanted and then some?

Anybody catch the new CSI?  I have it on DVR but haven't watched yet.  Let me know if I should bother, still hard to watch without Grissom.  CM was bone chilling, as always.  Luvs it.

Have a great one everybody!  Seahawks vs. Da Bears this weekend.  GO HAWKS!

It sure was, Nettie! There was sex (Barney and Robin), making out (Barney and Robin), hand holding (Barney and Robin), a whip (Marshall--but he only whipped a door, not any people, which is very in character, since Lily once said of Marshall, "I can't even get this guy to spank me in bed for fun."), tuxedos (Marshall, Barney, and Ted, and guess who looked the hottest? Yup, Marshall!), and Ted making an idiot of himself (hey, better him than any of the others).

Barney and Robin apparently break up in November, but everyone on the HIMYM message boards seems to be of the opinion that since it's happening so early in the season, it won't last long, and they'll get back together by the time the season ends in May. That had BETTER be the case! Seriously, they could not have spent a year and a half building this up to have it be completely over and done with in two months. They just couldn't.

So y'all are on Twitter, huh? I'm doing Facebook more, but haven't gotten a Twitter account. Don't know if I will.

Remember our successful campaign to get AW back from where SoapNOT left off? Well, after spending five months researching Guiding Light for the tribute video project, I've had a lot of memories reawakened, and found out that I missed a lot in the '80s and through 1993. I'm most interested in April 2, 1986 to May 13, 1996. So I'm going to try and launch a campaign to get Hulu and TeleNext to put up classic GL. Do we still have the addresses we used a couple years ago? I haven't been able to find them here at home. Are they anywhere here on the board or anyplace like that?

Amy, I have watched most of your tribute videos about Guiding Light on YouTube.  Those have brought back a ton of long forgotten memories.  If you want to have a starting place about GL, go to "Goodbye My Friend".  This is the whole story arc about the death of Maureen and what I consider the start of the end of GL.  Then from there, I think "Hide and Seek" where Philip was in hiding for his life while Beth was in labor and delivery with Lizzie.  You would be surprised what all is on there about GL, even some classice Nola and Vanessa.  Look for the GL Tribute from 1992.  It is in 7 parts I believe.  When times are slow at work, I can get on YouTube and watch just about anything.  Can't get on FB or Twitter but can YT, go figure.

If you all are looking for some laughs on YouTube, Jess has an account:  omgthejessica.  Look it up and you can see some of her and Elizabeths stunts.  My voice is even featured on some of the band videos, and you can hear how 'dorky' I sound!!

So if I start using Twitter, where should I lookk y'all up at????

Do join us Janie!  But BEWARE, like most things *internet* ~ it's addictin'!  I love that with Twitter you are *in the know* at the very moment things happen, depending on who/what you *follow*.  For instance, by following (hehe...no longer considered "stalking") Linda Dano, you can learn that she sold her NYC penthouse in the last couple of days and that she will be on both *BlogTalkRadio* and QVC this upcoming week ~

https://twitter.com/LindaDano

If that's just too much excitement for you, then you can take a peek at *NettiesWorld* which, coincidentally, is moi, and far less exciting than LD's Twitter.  No penthouses for sale here.  I'm keeping mine. Mr. Green

Will check out the YT vids too.  I can't FB or Twitter at work either and the YT vids are so slow that really isn't an option either.  That means I have to actually work at work.  Go figure, eh?  Razz

It was making the tribute videos that reawakened my interest in Guiding Light, and has had me looking for things that were before my time. I couldn't bear to watch Maureen's death. I agree, that's where the first nail went into the coffin. I've taken on a challenge: rewrite the story. Maureen doesn't die. So I've started doing that. I'm skipping around a bit in it, but it's about Ed facing the biggest challenge of his life next to quitting drinking: earning back the trust, and earning the forgiveness, of Maureen, the love of his life.

I want actual episodes of GL like we have of AW at Hulu. I do have my ideal starting point picked out: April 2, 1986. Why that particular date? Because A) it was Ellen Parker's first day as Maureen Bauer, and Peter Simon's first day back as Ed Bauer; and B) 1986 was a gateway year leading to a boom time storywise: in addition to the arrival of Ellen Parker and the return of Peter Simon, 1986 saw three other fan favorite, high-profile returns in Chris Bernau (Alan Spaulding), who returned in May; Robert Newman (Josh Lewis), who returned in October; and Grant Aleksander (Phillip Spaulding), who returned in December. Some of the major storylines of that year were the presumed death of Beth Raines; Reva getting pregnant with Marah (her and Josh's daughter); Dinah being revealed as Vanessa and Ross's long-lost daughter; and the departures of Kyle Sampson and Claire Ramsey (an asshat and a borderline psycho, respectively, from what I've seen at YouTube, which isn't much, although I can do without Kyle, thanks, because he's such an arrogant S.O.B. with dormant evil tendencies that come out at the worst possible moments. I didn't even really like Maeve all that much, but the fact that he gave away her child was just all kinds of wrong; Claire I'll put up with only because she's so closely linked to Ed and Maureen, and they get their beautiful daughter all to themselves when she finally leaves). GL was basically on fire right up until the end of 1992. Then they made their first fatal misstep with Maureen's death in 1993. There were still some worthwhile storylines from 1993-97, most notably Roger and Holly's reunion, the seeds of which were sown at Cliff House that summer; Roger's shooting; the custody battle for baby Peter; Alan-Michael and Lucy's romance; Ross and Blake's entire relationship; the return of Alan Spaulding; Vanessa meeting Matt; Josh and Reva vs. Annie; and the return, and recast, of the best Dinah they ever had, Wendy Moniz, in 1995.

So the challenge for me is A) how to get Hulu and TeleNext to put up classic episodes of Guiding Light, and B) how to get people interested enough to request that they do, because we got AW back because there were so many of us requesting it, and we all specified that we wanted them to pick up where SoapNet left off. Actually, that's another challenge: my ideal starting place is April 2, 1986. Everyone's is going to be different. I'm convinced of that. I can be flexible though. If they were to start with, say, sometime in 1982, I could go for that. It would mean a different Maureen, a lot more Reardons, and hanging out at Springfield High with the Four Musketeers, Phillip, Rick, Mindy, and Beth (then played by Judi Evans Luciano), but I wouldn't turn down the opportunity to see that.

I'm still formulating a game plan. I don't know as many GL fans as I do AW fans. Maybe I should do a video similar to the one I did announcing when AW was coming to Hulu, inviting GL fans to contact Hulu and TeleNext to ask for classic episodes of GL? What do you guys think about that? I need some kind of start to this campaign.

Amy
