Hi, everyone. I haven't logged in awhile. I have been visiting, I'm fine. My nephew Joe and my niece Shelby are in college. They attended college in Provo. Provo is in Northern Utah. They will be coming down for Thanksgiving. Shelby and I have been sending messages to each other at Facebook.
I read somewhere at Facebook that you mentioned the computer game Burger Shop 2, Amy. I love that game. I have it.
I have gotten in another show that I like. I really like it now. it is no longer in primetime. I have been watching the reruns. It is a decent show. I don't care for a lot of the current shows ans sone of the reality shows. I rather watch reruns of past shows and a few of reality shows. |

Is everybody on Twitter now? I get kind of lost over there. I'm not a texter. I have trouble with the 420 character limit at Facebook. 140 at Twitter? Forget about it! LOL. I'm very wordy when I'm communicating through writing. I always have been.
Yes, I LOVE Burger Shop 2, Michelle! I'm asking for it for Christmas. It's a great stress reliever for me. Even though it's not messy, sending the plates of food sailing reminds me of Food Fight, which was a fabulous stress reliever for me when I was 11. And I have so much more stress now.
What's the TV show, Michelle? I too don't care for reality shows. The only current show I watch is How I Met Your Mother. I tried Jenna Elfman's new show because I've always liked her but just couldn't get into it.
I mentioned that I'm interested in trying to get TeleNext and Hulu to show classic episodes of Guiding Light. Well, now I'm more or less in charge of the whole campaign! But I really don't mind. I just hope they eventually come through for us like they did with Another World. I always wanted to be involved somehow with this era of P&G's soaps. In my wildest dreams, they'd let me do promos. I'd promote the hell out of Another World and Guiding Light both. I'd just have to be careful not to refer to Spencer Harrison or to Claire Ramsey from GL the way I really think of them, although Claire gets the same treatment I give Spencer in the Hulu episodes: unless Spencer's in a scene with Ryan, I FF. Unless Clare is in a scene with Ed and/or Maureen, I FF. (Makes it a breeze when Claire's in scenes with Fletcher; I could never stand him either. They interest me about as much as Sam and Amanda, which is not at all.)

I got Burger Shop 2 for my birthday. I love computer games. I tried free demos for games all the time.
The show is Touched By an Angel. I like the message that the show has. I don't have to worry about content on the show.
One reality show that I like is Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. They build new houses for people who really need help. One of the actors who played Gary Sinclair is on the design team who help those people.
I joined Twitter. I like Facebook. I like some of the stuff there. I havw facebook friends that I knew when I lived in Colorado and also some of my family. |

Amy,
If you want to start with classic GL episodes, try to get the episodes from 1979 onward. To me, this era starts the best of Guiding Light until Maureen was killed off in 1993. You would get the whole Hope/Alan/Rita/Ed storyline, the first 'death' of Roger, the introduction to the Reardon family, the introduction of the Lewis family, some of the best ever stories ever told on GL--Reva and her Slut of Springfield, Bert, Billy and Vanessa, even the Claire/Fletcher/Ed/Maureen storyline which is leads up to Maureen having custody of Michelle. If you notice on some of the classic clips of GL on YouTube, when Maureen worries about Michelle being alone, it is because Claire left her alone as an infant numerous times.
Anyhoo, around here, we are being inenduated with rain. It is so bad, I am thinking about getting a canoe and giving up the BMW, so that I have a way to get back and forth to work!! The fall colors are really starting to pop out as well as the seasonal flu bug running rampant through the school system. Band is going good this year with our second competition behind us. Believe it or not but the kids are performing the Doors as the field show. Kinda neat to hear this music, considering I was a zygote to a toddler while the Doors were big.
Hope all are well. I haven't had the time to get on Twitter, but the offer always stands about Facebook. Look me up if you get the chance there.

I am loving me some Ed and Maureen (not so much the temporary recast of Ed from late '84-mid '86; the only Ed I like is Peter Simon. I do like both Ellen Dolan and Ellen Parker as Maureen for different reasons, and the transition there wasn't hard for me at all), and OMG, Claire is a TERRIBLE mother! I know it would have been incredibly out of character for Maureen to do this, but when Claire was having a hissy fit about "Ed kidnapped Michelle and I'm gonna have him arrested" because he took Michelle to visit Bert, I wanted Mo to haul off and slap the snot out of Claire, I really did! Then Ed and Michelle get home, Bert has died, and there's Claire barging in threatening to have Ed hauled off to jail. Byron once declared Cecile to be Maggie's *birth pod* because she was such a bad mother. Claire is actually worse than Cecile, as far as I'm concerned, but in a different way.
A lot of people want to go back to 1979, if at all possible. I'm fine with that. I'd be just as happy with 1981, though. They HAVE to start with March of 1982 and keep going, or at least that's my ideal scenario, because Ed and Maureen met in March of '82. They got married in February of 1983, which is fast for a soap, and now I'm dying of curiosity wondering exactly how they went from "It's nice to meet you" to "I do" in eleven months. I love the Reardons. Maureen, Bea, Nola, Tony, I didn't even mind Jim. And Chelsea, years later, especially when she was with Johnny, who was played by James Goodwin, who we all know as Kevin Anderson. It's really weird to be liking Johnny and hating Kevin as I am right now, let me tell you, LOL. Quint and Nola met in '81, and I think I might like them. If nothing else, they're responsible for a hilarious scene between Ed and Ross before their wedding. Let's just say it involves hookers as dressmakers, and Ross had so many great lines. "Ed, I don't think the D.A. is the person to go to when you're looking for hookers."
"Ross, don't be difficult."
"Didn't you just get married a few months ago?"
"They're not for me. They're for Maureen."
OMG, the look on Ross's face, I'm literally laughing remembering it. Of course, what else are you supposed to think when your best friend comes to you and asks you to help him find two hookers for his wife? Ed hurried to explain that they were helping Maureen with Nola's wedding dress, and now they can't find them. So Ross calls the jail, and while he's waiting to talk to a deputy, he says, "This is a headline waiting to happen, Ed: 'D.A. Finds Ladies of the Evening for Chief of Staff.' That's just the kind of publicity we need."
"They're just a couple of dressmakers, Ross."
"Yeah, right!"
The kicker is that they finished the bodice of the dress in their cell! (Good thing too, since the wedding was the next day.)
So yeah, I'm lobbying for 1982 at the absolute latest as the starting date for classic GL episodes. Why should it sit in a vault somewhere when there are people eager and anxious to see it?
We're in for a lot of rain here. And we've already had our first frost.
The Doors! So are they playing like "Break on Through" or "Hello, I Love You" or "Riders on the Storm" or "Light My Fire"?

So what's everybody been up to?
TG ~ how's that house coming? Have you gone into "must get done before the fall/winter crazy building mode?" MISS YOU HERE & ON TWITTER!
AG is having 'puter issues again and will be back when she gets those resolved. This board & YT ain't the same without her ~ hurry back Amy!
We've been going thru some rough times with Jasmine again. Her seizures are back so we are working with the vet to get those under control but it may take a while. Our first patch of truly *Fall* weather is predicted for the days ahead. Got spoiled by the lack of rain but bracing ourselves for the true PacNW rainy season. It's not Fall here unless you are trompin' through the punkin patches & corn mazes in two feet of mud!
Don't forget to find us over on Twitter. We've been adding more AW Alum to our *follow* page and even have a few following us. Through Twitter we learned that our gurl Linda was in NYC for a breast cancer QVC shoe sale event , Sandra Robinson is now a brunette and Anne Howard was guesting on Nip/Tuck!
Have a good one everybody!

Hey all from the rain soaked South!!! I'm not sure but it feels like we are now the new NorthWest with all this rain that we have received this Fall.
The Doors set that the band is performing this year is 'Light My Fire', 'Love Her Madly', 'PeaceFrog', and 'Touch Me'. I am sitting here at home, listening to the Band stream over the loudmouth radio announcers. Wish they would shut up long enough so that this Band Mom could at least hear her kids!!
Anyhoo, with the whole classic GL, 1979 would bring in the whole Kelly, Morgan, and Nola storyline, which in turn, would lead to the Nola and Quint storyline in 1982ish. Lisa Brown was probably my fav on the show at that time, cause she was so believable. Then when she went to ATWT after Douglas Marland quit GL and began his writing stint there, as ??? Synder who turned out to be Lilly's birth mom. Kevin Bacon was on GL during the 1980-81 storyline. Then you want to see the whole Tony and Annabelle storyline. We didn't have a VCR at the time, so I was dependent on Mom to keep my up to date on GL during the school year. I hated that it seemed Hamblen County school system seemed to know when the storyline were wrapping up for the summer, and would always start school back at around that time!!
Anyway, we also have our last competition tomorrow at William Blount High School, due to Alcoa High School having a completely flooded football field. Trust me, this has been our wettest Fall that I can remember for a loooooong time.
Wendy, how goes the house?
Annette, how are things in the NorthWest?
Amy, are you all getting alot of snow this early in the season?
We are expecting snow flurries tonight and freeze warnings in the Smokey Mtns. I am having to break out the UnderArmor and HotHands/Feet/Body for the gang for tomorrow. We have been visited by the Flu(Elizabeth), Sinuses(Vance, Jess, and myself), and a cold(Caleb). Not alot of fun around here, but this has been the first fall that I have not had a nasty cold. Guess that is one of the payoffs from graduating college finally!
Gotta scoot for now, have a good one all!! Go Marching Canes, get a Superior rating tomorrow!!

Things are well. We had a gorgeous summer and great Fall weather up until now. We are currently being slammed by the infamous NW rain. Lakes are starting to form in the streets/yards and it's time to build the Ark. Good luck Marching Canes!

~~~I 1st tuned in because this was from Ryan Murphy{Nip/Tuck}.
I pre-judged it would be too "HS Musical" for me,
but I was wrong.
This is just *twisted* enuff to keep me coming back for more.
*NG*, was Jessalyn Gilsig a b/witch on Fiday Night Lights too?
I really 'loved to hate' her as *Gina* on Nip/Tuck,
and she's delivering a similar performance on Glee.
My fav on the show is Jane Lynch. Can never get enough of her,
as *Sue Sylvester*, *Charlie*'s therapist, *Dr.Reid*'s Mama *Diana*,
or *Julia*'s sister...
Wonder why hulu doesn't have all the epis  |
