Fast forward a little bit
I've decided the world waited long enough for Anne Heche to arrive and Jake to return so Jake comes back earlier than he did before and Anne arrives earlier by a few months.
It is now early November fall is in full bloom.
Chad has found happiness with Sarah Montaigne.
Jamie and Lisa are happy.
Scott is with Dawn.
Cass and Nicole are sort of seeing each other but not serious (in this world Rex Allingham never exists. I thought that whole thing was way goofy)
Scene Tops
Adam has been out of town for a few weeks and is meeting M.J., Jamie and Lisa for dinner on his return.
Jamie, Lisa and M.J. are sitting together at Tops,
Cass and Nicole walk in and Lisa senses M.J. doesn't like it too much.
Lisa asks "What's wrong?"
M.J. "I guess it's of loyalty to my sister. I know she makes Cass smile and all the time we spend together in his office I know how lonely he's been. We've talked a lot. And I know Kathleen is gone and Cass will find someone and fall in love and get married again he deserves to, he needs to but I just don't think Nicole is the one."
Lisa pauses for a moment as she has had a psychic vision and after another moment
Lisa says "M.J. you're right. I see someone very special that has a connection to Jamie coming into his life but it's not time yet. Cass will have some bumps in the road and he might not realize she is his destiny right away but she will come when the time is right. He has not met her yet, She has a special powerful presence."
M.J. "I hope you're right. I just want him to be happy. I know it's what my sister would have wanted to."
Jamie "Lisa do you have any inkling what this crazy two are going to have?"
Lisa "I do but M.J. has asked me not to tell her or Adam."
In walks Adam who heads over to them and they stand up to greet him and after some greetings they sit down.
Adam "M.J. you look wonderful. I thought it was an expression but you're glowing. How are you feeling?"
M.J. "Really good. Doctor says everything is checking out for both of us. Nicole is even helping me with a maternity wardrobe. I may do a little modeling for her at a show she is going to have."
Adam "How is working for Cass going?"
M.J. "He's a bit overprotective but it's been a lot of fun and very interesting. I'm working with him in his practice doing office and some investigative work. I'm also helping out with Nicole's designs."
Suddenly she seems startled and grabs Adam's hand and puts it on her stomach as together they feel their baby's first kicks.
Adam "Wow. I think we have the next Pele' there."
M.J. "That was amazing."
The moment is again broken as it's Jamie's beeper that goes off this time.
The next few weeks fly by as Adam is tied up at the station a lot and M.J. is very busy with Cass so besides phone calls to check up and a doctors appointment they don't get much time together.
They get time together at Christmas but everyone is involved with supporting Dawn, Chad and Scott.
New Year's Eve
Tops
M.J. and Adam are together but not on a date but together as they explain to everyone who will listen and everyone believes them as much as they believe donkeys fly.
The evening is a lot of fun and full of laughs and happy times.
At midnight, they count down the last 10 seconds and the kiss they share at midnight sends off fireworks no town had ever seen on any 4th of July anywhere anytime.
