Fast forward a couple of months.

Sam and Amanda are about to get married.

Jake and Marley had returned to Bay City. (I just realized I made a timing mistake in the post above. Anne Heche was already in the cast. So the world needed to see more of her)

Mary's Place
Morning of Sam and Amanda's wedding

Mary and Vince are working behind the bar and talking about the wedding and in comes Alfred and Vivian Cory.

They walk over and Alfred says "You must be Vince and Mary McKinnon. We're Adam's parents. I'm Alfred this is my wife Vivian. We're here for Sam and Amanda's wedding and also will stick around a few weeks to welcome our grandchild."

Vivian "I wish there was another wedding we were coming here for."

Vince "Yes I'm Vince and this is Mary and as far as another wedding, from your lips to God's ears. If you see those two together they appear to be as much in love as ever before."

Mary "I'm a trained psychologist and I've been working with them working through what broke them up. You should see the way they look at each other. They obviously are still very much in love. They'll be here any moment. They had a checkup today."

Vivian "I can't wait to see this baby. Adam sent us a copy of the last ultrasound photo. It's our first grandchild too."

Mary "M.J. and I have spent a lot of time together shopping and talking. She can't wait to have this baby and I think your son is a gaga over becoming a father."

Alfred "You should hear him on the phone. "

Finally Adam and M.J. walk in and they greet his parents with hugs and announce the checkup went very well.

Mary "M.J. I want to show you something I picked up today for the baby. Vivian, would you like to come and see too?"

Vivian "I wouldn't miss it for all the tea in China."

After the women head to the back Adam asks to see Vince and Alfred in the kitchen because he wants to show them something.

After they head to the kitchen Adam pulls out a ring box and a sheet of paper.

Vince asks "What are these?"

Adam "I know the plan is that M.J. stays with you and Mary at the house after the baby is born and I stay there for a little while as well to be close to them but I have a different idea. You know that house M.J.'s best friend in childhood lived in 3 doors away that's for sale?"

Vince "yes"

Adam "it's not for sale anymore. I bought it today and tonight after the wedding I'm going to ask M.J. to marry me and we'll move into that house together."

The conclusion and I decide to make a special middle name in honor of one of my beloved characters:

After the wedding everyone is gathered in the Cory living room except for Sam and Amanda who were off on their honeymoon. Well those two were always a little off but they were actually on their honeymoon.

With everyone in the living room. Adam takes M.J.'s hand and leads her to the couch and calls for everyone's attention.

Adam announces "A few months ago M.J. and I called off our wedding and maybe it wasn't the right time back then for us to get married. Now in a matter of weeks we're going to have a baby. M.J. I know we have everything planned but I want to change those plans. You know the Payton house?"

M.J. "yes my best friend Kelly lived there when we were growing up. It's for sale. I love that house."

Adam "I bought it today."

M.J. "That will be wonderful for our baby to grow up in when he or she is with you."

Adam "Well there's something else. M.J. the three of us and maybe more in the years to come should be in that house. Will you marry me?"

M.J. "Yes" and they hug and kiss as everyone cheers and M.J. starts crying and the hubub is a little crazy.

Mary "When will the wedding be?"

Adam "I was wondering if we could put it together before the baby comes. We have a few weeks."

Nicole "I could make M.J. a dress and dresses for the women in a very short time."

Vince "We can call Father O'Malley and get St. Mary's"

Ada "I know a nice restaurant in Bay City that I know the owners of pretty well."

M.J. "If you have a freight truck I can get down the aisle."

Adam "You're going to be beautiful. Did I tell you how much I love you?"

M.J. "You can tell me as much as you want. I love you too."

And they kiss as everyone oohs and aahs.

M.J. "Cheryl I would like you to be my maid of honor. Lisa and Marley, will you be bridesmaids?"

Adam "Jamie can you be my best man as was first planned? Jake and Cass if you would be ushers."

They all accept and the room is a bustle of wedding plans.

2 weeks later

Adam MacKenzie Cory and Michael Joseph McKinnon (Yes that is her full name Vince and Mary must have been nuts) were married in a beautiful ceremony at the family church with a reception afterwards at Mary's Place and moved into their home where a bustle took place to get everything togehter in time.

2 weeks after that

After a rare for soap opera in a hospital no dramatic going into labor just simple get the woman to the hospital.

With 4 anxious grandparents to be in the waiting room including Vince wearing the same pattern in the floor he had worn into it 4 times before as the father to be.

After a typically dramtic birth Adam and M.J.'s beautiful baby daughter arrives with a full head of red hair.

As they hold theit daughter Adam asks "What shall we name her although I think it's pretty obvious."

They are taken into recovery and soon are in a room together with their new daughter counting her fingers and toes verifying she has 10 of each.

A few moments later Jamie knocks on the door and pokes his head in and says "There's about 300 people out here waiting to meet the newest Cory. As you asked I didn't tell them her name just she's a healthy 8 pound girl."

Soon the family was gathered in the room and Mary the baby is passed around from family member to family member as they ooh and aah and finally hand her back to her parents.

Finally Mary asks the question that everyone wants her to ask including the birds in the trees outside.

"What is her name?"

M.J. "We had pretty much decided on her first name if she was a girl months ago and I think nobody will be all that surprised. But she also came out feisty and strong so the middle name is after someone who always was feisty and never gave up so we want our daughter to be the new beginning of the spirits of two very special people. So I would like you to all meet our daughter Kathleen Wallingford Cory."

Postscript

4 years later

Kathleen does return from the dead and she and Cass figure out pretty quickly they are two different people and decide to divorce and remain friends and Kathleen finds happiness with Joe (that's my next story)

Fax Newmann never arrives in Bay City so Frankie and Cass have a whole lifetime together.

Jamie and Lisa remain together. Stephen is still born to Vicky and Jamie but they decide to raise him together but seperately.

Chose your own ending

Ryan comes to town and sweeps Vicky off her feet and he doesn't die and they live happily ever after. Jake and Marley never divorce and live happily ever after.

Or the way that it happened.

I'm working on gettin' the kinks out of some fan fic of my own. It'll focus on Felicia (there's a big surprise Shocked

) and what should have happened to her in the fall of 1995 instead of what did happen.

Great story! I loved the references to Frankie--someone with a connection to Jamie will come into Cass's life. There'll be bumps in the road, but they're meant to be together. THAT'S RIGHT!!!!

That's what I'm writing too--that Frankie never died, and she and Cass have another child and a whole lifetime together.

Yes that is my boy Kerry at his bowling event. He has it every year previously for Children's Memorial Hospital and this year was for a charity for the eye disease that is afflicting his teammate Derrek Lee's 4 year old daughter.

I think now that my boy is back on TV Tommy needs to be back on TV. And if he could play left field the Cubs need him Smile

. Or catcher. Or pitch. Or Shortstop. Or ......

The story of Cass as babysitter was a lot of fun. I just have to find it.

Back in 1986 before Cass and Kathleen left Cass and Adam had an interesting relationship. They got along well enough. Cass and M.J. were close friends if I recall correctly.

SPOILER ALERT:

For those that didn't watch it back then here's the scoop of what happened with Adam and M.J. on the show.

Adam and M.J. were engaged when he found out she had been a prostitute in the past. They broke up and she left town. He followed her in the spring of 1988 to Minneapolis and they supposedly lived happily ever after. They were referred to in passing over the years by Jake among others as apparently living happily ever after with a houseful of kids.

Jake did play a role in helping them get back together in the story as he encouraged Adam to go after her.

yeah, right after my boy returned to BC(in fact that very day), he went to Mary's Place to see Vince & Adam was there cryin' on Vince's shoulder about MJ...My boy walked in, all are happy, JakeJake tells Vince that he saw MJ & she was drownin' herself in work...No time for a personal life...Adam leaves all heartbroken & my boy replies "Open mouth, insert foot"...

Later on(the next epi I think), JakeJake goes to the station & convinces Adam to go to MJ & to make things work...Bam, Adam is gone & reunited with his luv!!!

I could def do with my boy playin' some baseball!! He looks YUMMYLICIOUS in the pants!

It's all about the McKinnons and their new life in Minneapolis. A lot of Bay City peeps have also relocated there ~ Felicia, Cass, John & Sharlene Hudson ~ and they are often visited by friends and family from Bay City.

I don't know who writes it but she has left me hangin' since May. Felicia was about to get a marriage proposal from a new guy (played by Sam Elliott per the cast photos). Her ENTIRE family is gathered for a party (Lorna & her DH Matt Cory(!), their kid, Jenna & Dean, Cass, Charlie) and he's gonna pop the question. Or there's gonna be a surprise. Either way, I WANNA KNOW!!

'Course if you think about it, if Mitch & Felicia had stayed married, then Lorna & Matt would have been step-sibs and...ew...actually they were still step-sibs only didn't know it. Lorna was always Felicia's daughter and Matt was her stepson there for a while. Then Robin Christopher and Matt Crane really got married. I'm gettin' dizzy...
