Marie Osmond Won't Quit 'Dancing'

LOS ANGELES -- Marie Osmond may have lost a loved one, but she's not ready to lose her place on "Dancing With the Stars."
The 48-year-old singer, who missed Tuesday's results show after the death of father George Osmond, will continue to compete on the top-rated dance competition, ABC publicist Aime Wolfe said Wednesday.
Osmond will also appear with family members — including brother Donny — on Oprah Winfrey's talk show Friday, said Don Halcombe, a publicist at Harpo, Winfrey's production company.
Osmond skipped Tuesday's live broadcast of "Dancing" to be in Utah with her family. Actress Jane Seymour, who also missed an elimination show last month after the death of her mother, was eliminated.
George Osmond, patriarch to the Osmond family's singing group, The Osmond Brothers, died Tuesday at age 90. Family spokesman Kevin Sasaki said Osmond died at his home in Provo, Utah. Because he had not been ill, he likely died from natural causes incident to his age, Sasaki said.
...offering prayers for all our beloved
fathers...
Thanks for posting this Marlo.
I will record Oprah on Friday too.
Remember to set up the VCR/DVR to tape the Osmonds on Oprah on Friday!!
Also ~ watched ET tonight and they were showing the DWTS peeps after hours at a club cuz Derek and Sabrina's partner (can't remember his name) have a band together and were playing the club. Sabrina confirmed that she and her partner are a couple in RL!
Sorry, but I can't find anything about J & D being on 20/20 Friday night. Maybe I imagined it!

I thought theyw ere a couple he kept kissing her a little too much to be just friends if you know what I mean...
They were very cute together so that is great!
I can't wait to see Oprah this am! I loved the Osmonds as a kid I was about 3 and I had goldfish names Donny and Marie! LOL i alos had those barbie dolls too! _________________
Anyhoo ~ I saw Julianne & Derek on 20/20 too. It was a short little segment. They were so cute as kids (and still are!). Since I have never really cared for Cameron, I would be okay if he went home. I think Jennie looked a little stiff again. Marie sits in the middle for me.
IMO, Julianne & Helio and M&M are the ones to beat. Though I got the HDTV last night, I kept getting interrupted. Of course, I had to keep switching over to the Seahawks game and then my sis called to go over the Thanksgiving menu. Since my sis is never organized this far ahead, I thought it best to take her call!!

~~~A, I thought both Jennie & Cameron
looked stiff & unsure of themselves last night.
You can almost see them counting the steps in
their heads. For once, I agreed with the judges
when they said the performances wern't fluid enough.
That was one thing Jane did very well in the slow dances.
I think it will be the same as it was with Kelly Monaco when
it comes to CM. The abc soapfans will be voting
in record numbers to keep him in it.
btw, as much as I love a beautiful male chest I did
agree with Len....no tie for a waltz?!?!?
I was touched when I saw the tears running
down Donny's face....
KT ~ I wish you and I could be in the same room together watching this show cuz we are so on the same page. I like a hunky guy as much as the next gurl but there's a time and place for displaying the hunkiness and the waltz is not one of them. I would have let out a huge *SIGH* if he had come out in a tux. I LOVE Julianne & Helio's outfits. The cape did more for me that C's muscles.
I, too, was touched when I saw Donny's tears. So much so that it made me tear up and when I went to wipe my eyes, I either had something on fingers or a little makeup and my eyes started stinging! I was so trying to get that cleared up for the next dance.
It does end up being somewhat of a popularity contest in the end. When Kelly won the first DWTS, I really thought that John should have won. I could watch him dance all day.
BTW ~ if we do watch this together some day, let's invite Linda ~ it's her favorite show!
I LOVED Helia and Julianne! Also Maks and Mel! They have tobe in the finale!
I agree with the tie and Camreron. I like him but he got a little anoying towards the end.
Marie is great! I am not sure she is a great dancer but I adore her. Did you guys watch the Osmod Oprah? It was great! Donny was sweet tearing up for his sis. I love that he comes every week to support her.
Jennie is good too but I doubt she will win. I haveto say that it is kind of refreshing to see a woman who looks like she has everything, a nice family , great body, very pretty, money etc that actually has insecurities like all of us. i thought it was so seet how happy she was to see Richard Simmons ! LOL _________________
Marie Osmond has done great considering her age. Still, I think she should have gone before Cameron and definitely before Sabrina. The top 2 IMO should be Helio and Mel.
Cameron has a great body, but his appeal has always been lost on me. Guess he is just not my type. I read he is a very nice guy though. In my mind Maksim is way better looking than Cameron. Even the other dancers Alex and Derek are far more appealing to me. I'm becoming more a fan of the dancers then the stars.
As always looking forward to next mondays show,
~~~Sharon, ICAM!
Marie was literally born to perform, and
she's doing an amazing job. I really think
her commitment to DWTS has turned
out to be a *saving grace* during this very
difficult time in her life.
I was wrong when I guessed that all the
begging Sherri did to the ABCsoapfans
would keep him there.
{Maybe Marie was right when she
said she only needs everyone in her family
to vote for her to win!}
I think Sabrina deserved the spot Jennie
is holding. I believe Derek's popularity is
the reason she's still with us.
I just loved watching Sabrina
perform. Are they really a couple IRL?
Choosing between Helio&Julianne and Mel&Maks
will be almost impossible.....Can't wait!

I saw Sabrina on Entertainment Tonight and she told the reporter that her and her dance partner (name escapes me right now) are really a couple. He has a band with Derek. Julianne used to sing with them but she is concentrating more on her dancing than music, whereas Derek really wanted to make a go of singing.
And I agree, Sabrina deserves Jennie's spot; otherwise, I am in agreement with the top 4 pairs. Should be a fun final few dances!
