· Quote

I was reading my 12/11/07 issue of Soap Opera Digest and I was very excited to see that in the "Where are they now" section, Alice Barrett Mitchell was featured along with an actress by the name of Claire Beckman who was on AMC and ATWT.  Alice looks great.  She has her red hair back!  They are both part of a local theater company called Brave New World Repertory Theater.  Alice is the managing director.  She also said that she shot an episode of a new series call New Amsterdam, which I haven't heard of. Don't know if it's coming as a mid-season show but I will be watching out for it.  She also did a film called Choke.  She also mentioned that she recently did a reading with Stephen Schnetzer and that it was great working with him again.    I wish I could have seen that - I miss seeing my Cass and Frankie so much!!  She also said that she would love to do another soap.  It's on page 60 if you are interested in seeing a picture of her and reading the short article.

THanks for the heads up.  I have such an attitude about soap magazines since AW went off the air.  I only followed Guiding Light through the '80's so I am not even up on what they are doing.  Other than that, I am not big on soaps and no longer watch daytime TV or have any desire to give them my money.

I won't have to thanks to you.  {grin}  Now I will look for it at the checkout line and see her article!  Page 60.  I can't wait!

They all feel like old friends that moved away.

No pictures were posted, but here's the blurb from Brave New World Repertory Theater's MySpace page about Alice Barrett Mitchell:

Alice Barrett Mitchell Named Managing Director

Alice joined Brave New World in January 2007 as Managing Director and stage
manager of the Salon Series. An actress, Alice appeared for seven years on
Another World. Her prime time credits include Dick Wolf's Conviction, Miracles,
The District and The Profiler. She is proud to have appeared on Broadway with
Alan Alda in Jake's Women by Neil Simon.

After seven years in Los Angeles, Alice came home to her beloved Brooklyn the
summer Brave New World Repertory staged To Kill A Mockingbird. There, right on
the block, was a theatrical event to which she couldn't even get a seat!
Something big was afoot. Claire invited Alice to join the company to help her
manage its galloping growth. Alice is thrilled to return to her theatrical
roots with such a magnificent company of actors and designers, to be
re-discovering that "the play's the thing," and to be involved in bringing
accessible theatre to Brooklyn communities.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Way to go, Alice!!

Maybe she will *recruit* some of her old AW pals to do some local theater ~ Stephen Schnetzer, Linda Dano, Anna Stuart, Victoria Wyndham, Charles Keating, and, of course, Tom Eplin, come to mind right now!!!

Is Alice originally from Brooklyn?

You are so welcome!

I don't watch soaps anymore - none of them interest me like AW did but I still buy the soap magazines mainly to see if any stories show up about AW alum.   They usually list soap actors who will be on prime time shows and I'm always hopeful I will see the names of my favorite AW actors like Alice, Stephen, Anna Holbrook, etc. (too many to name here).  Every once in awhile someone's name will show up.  Next time one does, I'll make sure to post here.  Don't want anyone to miss our beloved AW actors on TV or the movies.

It's wonderful that Alice is still acting etc. Is there anything new with her lately? She is such a talent. I loved her with Stephen.
