I just had a thought (occasionally I do that and shock myself!).
What if we created some sort of group fan fic where we each could take on a character or two and create some sort of running dialogue/storyline that we could "act out" each day or so. We could come up with the "opening" scenario, either continuing AW from the final day, or where we thought it would be on January 1, 2008.
Of course, whenever we started it, we would have to "tweak" it first so that Frankie & Jake (and maybe Ryan depending on desire) would still be alive. But those are just minor details.
Another thought (oh-oh, two in one day!) is that after Amy posts her fan fics, we could maybe try to continue her stories since she will have "righted" many wrongs ~ plus she has great pics to work with!
Like I said, just a thought (or two). I already have visions of *new* characters ~ one is named Wendy and she gives Paulina a run for her money with Jake (he finds her totally irresistable). Another is a mysterious dark-haired woman with a wicked sense of humor who goes to work for Felicia.

We could do anything we wanted ~ Start/Pick up where we wanted. Bring back characters we want. Sounds fun to me. Right after SN pulled the plug on AW in April, I signed up fer one (can't remember if I was Lorna or Felicia or both) but then you started this board and I kinda lamed out on the other cuz I didn't know any of those peeps and wasn't comfortable playin'. But now, we all know each other so it would be a lot more fun.

Whatever character(s) you end up playin', you get to write (or is that "right") their history to bring us to the point we start playin'. Fer instance, if you want to play Iris, you can write her back into Bay City whatever way you want ~ she never went to prison to begin with, she escaped, she got sprung by Jordan Whats'-his-Name, she had plastic surgery and no one knows it's her ~ any number of scenarios!

In Amy's version of things, Jamie & Marley are married and Ryan and Vicky also are married. I really like Michael and Donna. In Amy's version of things, they get remarried.
Well, here's what I have planned for my version of things as far as couples go, and who I see:
Cass and Frankie are married (not a surprise there, I'm sure) and have two children, Charlie and a son three years later named for Wallingford; they call him Wally.
Ryan and Anne's Vicky are married, and besides Steven, they have four children--Kirk, the twins Bridget and Michelle, and another boy, "the tiebreaker," Andrew.
Jamie and Anne's Marley are married and have a daughter, Jessie.
Michael and Donna get remarried.
John and Sharlene stay together after getting remarried in '95.
Dean and Jenna are married, move back to Bay City, and have a son.
AC's Lorna marries Joe Carlino.
JakeJake and Paulina renew their vows after deciding to get back together, and they have a son, Mack. I'll work Remy into the story later.
Lucas returns in 1997, and he and Felicia eventually reunite and renew their vows as well, which is the story I'm working on right now, actually.
Iris never goes to jail. Olivia Matthews was not Sarah's mother; it was just some random woman that Dennis had a one-night stand with, and he gets sole custody of Sarah. He and Iris (and Vivien) raise her together, and when Sarah is about 8 years old (I'm still brainstorming this one), Dennis marries Kelsey Harrison.
Morgan Winthrop and Courtney Evans get married.
I'm not planning to write a story where they're the focus, but Rachel and Carl are married, as are Gary and Josie. But no AmanDUH in my universe, Matt doesn't have anyone (all his exes marry somebody else, LOL--Jenna marries Dean, Lorna marries Joe, and Josie marries Gary), and Grant goes to prison.
Felicia continues to run TOPS.
Paulina inherits the Paradise after Ada's death.
Jake still strikes it rich, but the money doesn't matter to Paulina.
Ryan becomes the youngest Commissioner in the history of the Bay City P.D. After the death of Gabe MacNamara in the line of duty, Joe Carlino is named Captain of the Bay City P.D.
John becomes Chief of Staff at Bay City General; Jamie, Morgan, Courtney, and Kelsey are all also on staff there. Sharlene goes into hospital administration, but no, the fact that she's married to the Chief of Staff doesn't have anything to do with her getting the job.
Jamie and Marley continue to run the Waterfront Clinic, with Jamie as the main doctor there (the other docs volunteer their time there), and Marley handling the fundraising.
Nick Hudson becomes a P.I. and works with Frankie at their company, Frame and Hudson Investigations. They often work with/for Cass, but have their own office, and Cass is still a lawyer.
Iris and Rachel share control of Cory Publishing--Iris is the CEO, Rachel is the President and Chairman of the Board. Matt also works there. Amanda travels across Europe for Cory business.
Sam and Olivia are married, have custody of Alli, and have a son of their own, Ben, named for Sam's father. Sam remains an artist, and Olivia becomes a dance teacher.

After Lucas's return, and things settle down, he and Lorna surprise everyone by going into business together to form The LC Group (for their initials--Luke Castigliano and Lorna Carlino), which quickly gains a reputation as the best PR firm in the Midwest when father and daughter team up and pool their resources and contacts. And no more mob/Rick Madison/underground stuff!
And as far as the role-playing thing goes, dibs on Frankie! And Cass too. The best team in the league goin' all the way is DEFINITELY goin' all the way with me at the keyboard!

Just out of curiosity, was Sam's father really named Ben? I remember a lot of talk between Mitch & Sam when their mother came to town about their respective fathers (Mitch's father died when he was young and his mother ~ the infamous Loretta Fowler ~ then married Sam's father and Sam was born). Per Mitch, Sam's father referred to Sam as the smart son (cuz he went to college) and Mitch as the jailbird son.

What about my Jake!? Does he own a multi-media company or go into newspaper publishing and become a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist? Do he and Paulina have their own bio-daughter? Does Jake have an unknown teenage son who emerges to cause havoc on his father's company? I'm having much fun with some of the ideas floating in my head.

I remember Sam mentioning his father's name was Benjamin, so that's what gave me the idea for him and Olivia to name their son Ben. I don't know the back story. I won't actually be writing a story about Sam and Olivia and Alli and Ben, but they'll be mentioned in other stores, like Sam and Olivia and Alli were mentioned in the story I wrote about Jamie and Marley's wedding.
I kind of thought you'd LOVE that spoiler, Annette. And they're going to announce it to Felicia and the others during a special event.

I hadn't thought that far ahead yet, actually, with regards to Jake's professional life. He and Paulina do have a son, Thomas Mackenzie McKinnon, known as Mack. Paulina runs the Paradise. I figured Jake would buy The Bay City Herald and run that. I was thinking Jake would adopt Remy, and then have fun harassing Donna when Remy and Nick fall in love ("Hey, Big Donna, think we're gonna be in-laws again?" Vicky would have to hold Donna back from strangling Jake, LOL). The unknown teenage son would be an interesting angle. I'll have to think on that one.

I thought he really did buy the Herald and ran it with Matthew. I remember something in '96/'97 where Michael was upset with Matthew because he exposed John & Felicia's affair in the Herald. I wasn't watching much by then but you know it would have sent me over the edge cuz you know how much I hated that pairing and, really, would Matt have done that to Felicia? By then I think it was FauxMatt, one of the two guys they had playing him before Matt Crane's return.

Okay, I'm officially taking suggestions for Jake's profession. What should he do for a living? I have the personal stuff taken care of with Paulina and Mack and Remy, but Jake would insist on working to take care of his family, so what should he be doing?
I'm not sure what to do with Matt either, aside from having all of his exes marry other guys. I mention him briefly in "Reclaiming Forever" because Lorna and Joe decided on "no ex-anythings" at their wedding, so Matt's not there, and neither are Paulina or Morgan Winthrop; Paulina is married to Jake, and Morgan is married to Courtney Evans, anyway, but Matt doesn't have anybody. And I haven't really thought much about his job either.
I'm serious about the suggestions for Jake's profession. And if anyone has any suggestions on what Matt could/should be doing, I'm up for those too.
I think JakeJake should go back to what he always luved doin'(besides Big Donna, Marley Vicky, & Paulina), runnin' a Vid Company...And causin' LOTS of Trouble!
Amy, would you ever consider that Jamie and Marley could adopt a child or children when both Steven and Jessie are older? I would understand no matter what happens.
