~~~I've added to my "saves" at Netflix, but
I'm gonna try to see this one on the big screen
now that I know Alice is in it!
We usually catch all the Sundance entries at our
local Indie house. If we miss a good one there,
we have the Sundance Channel on our cable.
With his mother (Anjelica Huston) suffering from Alzheimer's, medical school dropout Victor Mancini (Sam Rockwell) devises a plan to pay her hospital bills. At high-class restaurants, he pretends to choke, waits to be rescued and then later asks his saviors for money. In addition to being a con man, Victor is a sex addict who works at a colonial theme park. This film is based on the novel by cult literary phenom Chuck Palahniuk ( Fight Club).
Kewl beans!! I think we have Sundance! We gotta have somethin' in all those channels the DH added to get maximum *sportage* (I'm still gigglin' over KT's *boobage* reference on the DWTS thread).
~~~*AG*, maybe the twins can loan out the *Hudson* jet.
Ya know, the one Anne was in when she said goodbye to "us"
Well, actually we might not need to borrow the Hudson jet from Anne's Vicky. Janie lost a tape in between Cass and Frankie on the private jet to Venice, and them coming back to Bay City engaged. So for all I know, they DID join the Mile High Club on the way to Venice in '92.
So HULU just HAS to get there, and I HAVE to figure out how to save and convert episodes and clips like I've done with AOL!
BTW, I'm working on a video with comprised entirely of 1981 scenes! And no, it isn't my Dr. Rick tribute, at least not yet. (That'll probably be the next one.) The first one is going to be the hostage crisis at the Cory Cabin. I already have some of it on the storyboard. Dr. Rick is in it, though...along with Mac, Rachel, Jamie, Sandy, Cecile (I had no choice), Ada, Joey, Larry, and a quick appearance by Marianne (it'll make sense when it's finished).

If they did it wasn't on camera(just Frankie flipping out with excitement and smothering Cass with kisses) so we just have to leave that up to our imaginations(....which it would seem Alice doesn't do in this new movie). Honestly, I always thought I'd want to see her in any role she acted in but I'm not too sure I really want to see all of her, as it were, in this one. It kind of messes with my image of her as Frankie. I guess I'm just holding on to the hope of seeing Alice and Stephen Schnetzer together again.....on the ground, in the air, fully clothed or au naturel, any way will do. I'm sorry, there's just nothing like the two of them together.
Well this film may have been a big hit at Sundance but the reviews I've read today have all been lukewarm. No mention of the "lanky woman on the airplane," which is how Alice Barrett's credit reads, so her part must be very minor, but you know what they say....there are no small parts, etc., etc., etc.
Here's to the day when all of the fine actors from ANOTHER WORLD get the kind of TV and movie roles they deserve.
