You're right about Barbara Eden's navel, KG! I shudder to think how much skin she'd be showing if the show was on network television today. There's something to be said for the age of innocence. I Dream of Jeannie is a prime example of good, clean fun.
Probably the raciest they ever got was Tony's bachelor party. Did you ever see that one? LOL, I didn't see it for the first time until I was an adult, and it still strikes me as hilarious. Tony didn't want a bachelor party, and told Jeannie, who had been schooling herself in American wedding traditions, that he wasn't going to have one. But Roger and Dr. Bellows teamed up to throw Tony a surprise bachelor party. The problem was that they didn't check with each other before starting the party. Dr. Bellows' idea of a bachelor party was cigars, champagne, and football films; meanwhile, Roger procured uniforms for half of the NASA secretarial pool and sneaked them into a restricted area of the base, where he mixed up a huge batch of spiked punch and blared go-go dancing music (it was 1969). Tony thought he was going to a meeting, and he was the one person who didn't want there to be a party. Everyone else including the General wanted the party to continue. So while NASA's brass was grooving with the secretaries, and Dr. Bellows was getting smashed on Roger's "delicious fruit juice," Tony, unable to get anyone to listen to him, decided to leave...but when he opened the door, he saw the suspicious Mrs. Bellows dragging Jeannie down the hall, having convinced Jeannie that there was a secret bachelor party going on and determined to catch her husband, Major Nelson, and Major Healy in the act. When Tony finally managed to alert everyone that Amanda Bellows was on her way down the hall, they all freaked out except Dr. Bellows, who was too far gone by that point to notice much of anything. They managed to get everyone and everything stashed and convince Jeannie and Amanda Bellows that it really was a meeting...until the giant hollowed-out cake burst out of the closet door, and Dr. Bellows, three sheets to the wind with a cup of punch in one hand and a party hat askew on top of his head, popped up and, while hanging out of the cake, blurted in a slurred voice, "Happy bachelor party, Major Nelson!" Mrs. Bellows shrieked her husband's name and fainted. Dr. Bellows passed out. Jeannie burst out laughing.
Can you tell that's one of my favorite episodes?

So...Now we've officially started on the house. Been sawin' up 6x12 beams, 26 ft long for the past couple of weeks, but that never felt official...Now the Real work can begin!!! A man's comin' to dig the footin' later this week...His name is TOMMY...Gotta luv him!
Dang, the kid is Cranky in the mornin'...Get off my back!! _________________ http://www.freewebs.com/eplinlover/index.htm

Wahoo on the startin' of yer house, TG!
Speakin' of houses and Jeannie, the folks pretty much got their new house all set up 'cept for some boxes still in the garage (mostly Pops' "stuff") and when I was there last time, mom was makin' noises like she was tired of the boxes. I tried to do the Jeannie arm-fold blink thingee to make them go away, but it didn't work. HMPHF! 'Course I also tried the Samantha nose-twitch thing and dat didn't work either. I think TV is fake.

It is in Nettie's World. We have the day off tomorrow in celebration of the 4th. 'Sposed to be 87 degrees here in the Pac NW with 82 on Saturday. We've spent many a 4th of July celebration in the rain so we are lovin' this spell of REAL summer weather we are having this year.
Hope everyone has a Safe & Happy 4th of July!!!

I would love to be able to have either Samantha Stephens' or Jeannie's powers. Of course, it would come in handy for different reasons now than when I was younger, but they just aired an episode of Bewitched today where 3-year-old Tabitha turned the preschool bully into a bullfrog.
And I'm so excited because next week, Tony asks Jeannie to marry him! I never saw that two-parter. And after that come all the great episodes like Tony's bachelor party (I'm sitting here smiling thinking of drunk Dr. Bellows popping out of the cake already!), the engagement ring shopping, the blood test where they have to substitute Dr. Bellows' blood for Jeannie's because Jeannie's blood has green corpuscles, and the wedding! Tony in his Air Force mess dress uniform, which has--you guessed it--a white jacket! And the post-wedding episodes, like the honeymoon they squeeze in on a trip with Roger and the Bellows' where Jeannie blinks an extra floor onto the hotel; Jeannie trying to play matchmaker for Roger, who she thinks is lonely now that she and Tony are married (if I remember correctly, one of Jeannie's prospective dates for Roger is played by the late Farrah Fawcett); the dinner party where Dr. and Mrs. Bellow disappear after drinking some magical wine and don't know that they're invisible; the hurricane where Tony dreams that Dr. Bellows found out about Jeannie; and Jeannie's magical, uniform-hating dog Djinn Djinn and his wife having puppies but Roger got confused and made everyone think Jeannie and Tony were having a baby. Note to self: put the season 5 DVDs on your Christmas list.
I think it's a good sign that a man named Tommy dug the footin' for your dream house, Wendy! Keep us posted! Is the Term going to be helping with the building process, like hauling lumber or anything?
As is usual for us, it's supposed to rain here tomorrow, but I'll be watching the Macy's fireworks on NBC tomorrow night, live from the Hudson River! I hope everyone has a safe, happy 4th of July!
