Gauging first time runners ability.
If your dog has never run the lure before, your maiden run will only be 50 meters.
At 50 meters dogs can still easily see and hear their owners, there is also no distractions from the side lines at 50 meters.
If your dog chases the lure well and doesn't become distracted then your dog will move on to 100 meters.
If however your dog gets distracted and doesn't run as well as it could we will carry on doing 50 meters till such a time the dogs interest in the lure is sufficient to do the 100 meters.
Please don't see this as a punishment, it isn't, we want to get the best out of your dog. |
