Who can remember all of the bands? And who were members?

Bands

Uh, let's see ... The Wet Blanket, The Ladderback Chair, The Rebound Book, The Black Zone, The Grape Association, The Rising Sons, Jasmine ... sorry, the brain is begining to hurt.

How many remember the Castaway Club, featuring KXOK's Keith Morris, may he rest in peace?

My favorites were the Laderback Chair and th black Zone. I remember going to a Saturday night Sock Hop and seeing the ladder back cahir and seeing Beagle Vogt get in a fight with a couple of bikers. I was friends with Charlie Dickey-keyboard and Larry Phillips, he taught me to play Bass Guitar over at Muellers TV and Music. Those were great days. I do not play any more and my kids can not believe I actually played.

Eddie Starr and the Solidarity Labor Band

Postby CherylK2 on Tue Apr 08, 2008 7:51 am

I'm going to go ahead and post this picture, because I have done everything I can in my editing program and I can't get it right. Maybe someone can save it and do better. Eddie is second from the left. I was very close to Eddie and his wife, Nancy. They helped raise my son when he was little, and I was sick alot. Both were (Nancy still is) wonderful people. When he died it was devastating for me. At his visitation, the line went outside the funeral home and around the side. Longest line I ever saw. He will be gone five years this coming November. I loved him deeply, as I do Nancy.

So, if you can help the picture, please try. Originally a black and white photo taken for the newspaper. I have the original.

Thanks to Mike, we have a much clearer photo!

Ditto, Frank, Larry Phillips taught me how to play rhythm. I haven't played in decades now, and I fear the arthritis in my fingers wouldn't let me anyway.

What, you don't have arthritis, Larry! Amazing! I thought it was required for our age.

My doctors believe I may have a "touch". Their choice of words. I believe it's a bit more than a touch. It's listed as a connective tissue and I get checked every other year and they come back negative. My mom died from complications of Lupus and Scleroderma. These affect women more than men. All the women on my mothers side had both to some degree. My sister Donna won't get checked because there is no cure and has not displayed any of the symptoms Mom had.
I'm bring the subject up once in a while since she is getting older. She'll be 53 in Dec.

Sooo, why are you up before the birds and sun? :D
