My sister found this at a flea market. The back says "Trail's End Motel -- By-Pass 50 and Hwy. 3 -- Cahokia, Ill. --
Deerfield 2-1090 --Air Conditioned -- Room T.V. -- A.M. Coffee -- Children's Playground -- Room Controlled Heat"

Parks College - can't read the back

Who wants to be the first to admit they spent a night at Trails End? :-0

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Well, anyway, it was a rhetorical question. Everybody knows that the place to go was McConnell's. :D

I totally forgot about McConnell's. Wonder if they have a postcard.

I think my husband stayed there one night when we were first going together-he's from Ottumwa,Iowa and was home on leave from the Air Force at the time.He liked to froze to death so my parents let him sleep on the couch for the rest of his stay.
Remember the old drive-in out that way?

Yes! Futura Drive In. I used to go there all the time. Then it started showing some movies that caused a problem with the neighbors. Too bad. Does anyone remember the trampoline place near there? You pay and you could jump on trampolines that were stretched across openings in the ground. I barely remember them.

I remember the trampolines in front of Sands Drugs by National, was that Village Shopping Center? I don't remember the ones by Futura. I loved going to them. Is there still a drive-in in Belleville? The closest one to us is about an hour or so away.

I think the place that was near the Futura was called Comancheland, a miniature theme park with a few rides etc. Never went there; I think it closed even before the drive in was built. I think it was behind trails end; there may still be some concrete remains there.

The trampoline place up by Cahokia Village Shopping Center was called Jumpin' Jiminy. I went there once, maybe in second grade. I don't think it lasted more than a couple of years.

I remember the trampolines at the Cahokia Village Shopping Center, I went once or twice. I think it cost 50 cents. It was only there for a few years. I remember having a trampoline in phys. ed class one year.
The next time I visit my sister I think I'll drive through the old neighborhood. I need to stop and visit with Christine and see if our other sister will let me visit.
We have an uncle that lives in the St. Louis are with cancer and he's not doing too well. I'd like to go visit with him one last time. With the price of gas I can't make it down too often, especially since we like to go visit the grandkids in New York.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers. :D Linda R
