Parents and Students,
Concert Band is in full swing. We are working hard towards the Band
Review on April 13th. I want to thank everyone for there hard work
and dedication to the band program here at Union High School. We have
had 3 students from the high school selected to participate in the
All-Region Band clinic this year. There were also 3 members selected
to participate in the 30th USC Honor clinic this year.
We have started a Jazz band that meets on Tuesday's from 3:30-5:30pm
in the band room. The group is working hard to put together a
performance for the Band Review. The Percussion ensemble class has
been working on 7-8 pieces to use as well for the band review. The
Winter Guard has been working on fundamentals and has just started
work on a new routine.
There is a Band Party scheduled for the 22nd of February in the
cafeteria. Come see me stick to my promise and cut my hair..........
The planning for our fall show is in high gear. Keep an eye on the
calendar to keep up with the spring events leading to Marching Season.
I'm getting excited about the plans. I hope your ready to work
hard....We have been selected to participate in The Tournament of
Champions at Western Carolina University on October 13th....This will
be a wonderful experience for us.
Please come out to all Band Aide Club meetings. They are scheduled
for the first Tuesday of every month. The next meeting is on March
6th. We need a good turn out...
