Alright guys, DM auditions are coming up, well they are in April but they will be here before we know it, lol, anyway Loren and I am teaching the sessions leading up to the audition, I will make copies of some stuff from my George Parks DM book to use for references.
For the audition you will have to conduct a song that is pre-recorded(we will work on it with you), do a marching routine(we will go over it during the session), and do an interview, and anything else Mr. Capps will want to be included in the audition.
here is the schedule:
Tuesday, April 17th- pg. X:Introduction
pg. 62-64: Drum Major responsibilities
pg. 65: Drum Major Philosophy
***work on song***
Wednesday, April 18th- pg. 20: Art of Conducting
pg. 29: Suggestions
pg. 38: Showmanship
***work on song***
Thursday, April 19th- pg. 1: Commands and Leadership
pg. 41: Salute
***go over routine for audition***
***any extra help***
Friday, April 20th- AUDITION
If you are a 9th grader I encourage you to audition, it will be great experience. And to anyone, even if you don't want to be a DM it will also be a great experience, every brass captain or woodwind captain, or any leader of the band needs to know how to conduct, so I want the sessions to be filled up!!!!
If you have any questions post it on here, or just catch me in the hallway or something, you will have to sign up with Mr. Capps.
Thanks guys, I miss everyone!
