Which watch for Biggles?

Which watch for Biggles?

Postby Bertie on Sat Jul 18, 2009 6:51 pm

last year I got a watch that I had long hankered for. My justification for the watch to my wife was "If Biggles were around now, this is the watch he would wear" In truth I believe this - it's a Breitling Navitimer, but any watch nuts out there with a different opinion?

I always imagine him wearing one of those electronic giant watches (the kind you can play Star Wars on)! Stupid, I know, but Biggles always struck me as being a gadget man.

I do remember that in WWI he had a luminous watch...it says so in one of the book, possibly Battle of the Flowers. That's why I got the whole electronic watch idea, I guess. I mean, I suppose your watch can light up as well, but an electronic one is way cooler. :D
"I got one of them."

"You what?"

"I shot one down."
