I see the wait list for Challenge is full, but I don't see any mention of any wait list for the marathon.

Assuming at least some marathon entries move up to the full Challenge . . . are you taking wait list names for entry to the marathon?

To set the record straight...

There has never been a rule about needing to run the Marathon before being allowed into the Challenge...However, the old selection process was based on how many Challenges and/or Marathons you had competed in...ie. The more times you had been in either one, the more likely you were to get in to the next one...

This system worked great until the race got so old and popular that it became very difficult for any new faces to make it into the event...So, this year...to answer this and other complaints...we instituted first come/first serve, online registration...while giving the old-timers a 1 day head start with an email to our database...

This race has become more popular than we could have ever imagined...Online registration filled the Challenge in about an hour this year...and the good news is that about 30% of the registrations came from first timers...So, we are acheiving the goal of making this event more accessible to more people...We wish we could run everyone that wants to be with us, but permit restrictions just don't allow it...

Thank you everyone for wanting to race and making this an event to remember...
