All the talk down there sounds as if it is going to happen. If it does happen , it is not going to be an all winter long event because it is not fully enclosed. There isn't any heat. _________________ Bye for now,

haha no chance of october. we still need a paper signing that it is safe to work in there. we need to tansport dirt from cheri to there. we need to have the area fenced in. right now there is no working eletricity. and no locks have been put on the door yet. not to mention we need to make the track which might not happen this year bc the track desinger for aba is gonna have to design the aba grands track soon. honestly i dont think we will be racing there until spring. |

ive seen pictures of the facility it would be in and it wouldnt even be race-able after november, unless your liek a polar bear. it would just be way too cold. i still think it is a good idea because now you can still race in the rain and out of that horrible area the track was in before. _________________ Brendan Costello |

It goes in front of the county legislator's this coming Thursday night. It looks like we have enough votes for it to pass. We need a bunch of things to come together all at the right times though for the track to be built and ready for racing. Trust me I will do everything I can to get it up and racing as soon as possible. I will keep everyone informed. |

The Broome County Legislator approved the Grippen Park site for BMX tonight. The vote was 13 to 5 for BMX. There is still quite a few things to iron out as far as when the track will open is up in the air but we will try to move things along as fast as we can. Winter racing all depends on when we open but if we can race during the winter months we will. So much has to come together right now just to open. |

It looks real slim that the new facility will be ready for winter racing right now. But if the county can get electric service in and hook up the lights we could get the track built and race. The county would rather get everything that needs replaement and repair done before we install the track. They have an enormous amout of money that they plan for this facility and it will be one hell of a place when it is done. We will just have to be patient so it will be done right the first time and everyone will be extremely impressed when it is completed. |

Right,
but that still doesn't really give an idea as to when we'd have a track built and a month of when we'd start racing. |

I spoke to Gary last night and it seems the county is dragging its feet on the electricity, water and pooring the concrete floor. I guess there is about $1.2mil to invest into this property and they aren't really feeling the urgency to get it done. I guess now with the colder temps, they don't want to poor the floor because it will cost too much to heat it. So it looks like now it will be done first part of spring.
Gary is hoping we will be able to race there by April, as long as the work gets done.
Everything now is kind of out of Gary's hands.
But while you are waiting for this indoor track to be built, hop on over to Headrush.com and e-mail or send in forum messages to Kenny to get his butt motivated to get the Syracuse indoor track done. Last I heard there was that we could see it done by early summer.
If you want it badly enough start pushing the forces that be. _________________ Bye for now,
